I love Costume Capers and have been a client for a long time. Debie and Keith have known me for 20 years and now they know my kids. Every year, we go HERE to get our costumes and always have a good time in the store. It’s a loss to our community that they are going out of business, but I hope that the costumes end up on the Central Coast still. Thank you Debi & Keith. You will be missed, and I love your store.

Sadly Costume Capers is going out of business but happily I got to buy what used to be a rental costume to own for a great deal. Thanks Keith!

I have done business with Costume Capers in the past and did not have a good experience, but today I went in with a co worker and we were pressed for time on a event, Sarah the store rep was of great help to us both, we interrupted her lunch and she served us a set us both up for our event !!! Thank you Sarah !!! You rock !!

I always use Costume Capers for costuming needs. The owner, Debbie, has always been helpful and accommodating to me! I saw some of the poor reviews here on Unilocal and all I can say is I have NEVER had a problem at Costume Capers.

So I have to start out by saying that it takes a lot for me to give a negative review because I’m the type of person who can find something positive in almost every situation… However… My experience here at Costume Capers was pretty dismal. My Fiancé and I went in with high hopes for renting costumes for a theme party .but after almost an hour and a half of one of the employees blindly and impatiently searching the cluttered, jam packed motorized dry cleaning racks filled with unorganized, unsized, stained, musty, chaos, she could only find a couple of things she said«we might be able to make work». Not to mention the fact that she was clearly very sick… so not only did we leave there with«a couple of things we could make work» but we also left with her epic cold, that we’ve both had for 4 days. I also just have to mention the complete and utter rudeness I experienced on the phone when I called the next day to ask a question. The man who answered(who I believe to be one of the owners) was condescending right from the start and acted as though I inconvenienced him by calling. It makes me very sad because a store like this is supposed to spark fun and imagination and excitement… but instead, it discourages it. So please. I urge you, give another local shop your business!

I wrote a review before and it is gone. There were loads of them, don’t know where they went??? Yes, they have awesome stuff. BUT they are so rude I just don’t get it. I guess there is no competition so they stay in business. How(and why?) can you own a fun store like this and have a miserable attitude? I get my dress up goodies on-line or leave town to buy it(and I buy a lot of it) since I can’t patronize or support a place like this. And I am completely a buy local person. Sad.

What is with the attitudes of these people? They are so rude and uncariing. I guess they’re burned out or something because they HAVE been in the biz for mucho years

This place is pretty much as good as costume stores get. They’ve got high quality expensive costumes as well as cheaper items. I think they even have a costume rental too.
