This is sort of a mixed review the big guy that works over the counter is really nice guy but the fat gray-​haired short lady is a total b**** and that’s not an exaggeration the last time I was in there I bought over 10 dollars worth of food and items and I park my car near a gas pump and she ran outside screamed at me and said you can’t park there if you’re not pumping gas and mind you it was not a busy time. Talk about poor customer service oh and the prices here are jacked up beyond belief because of the tourists.

I have lived all over SoCal and NorCal and driven up and down the 101 more times than I would like to admit. I know it may sound strange to love a gas station, but when you Road Trip as much as I do you learn to appreciate a great one. They keep their restroom clean, have a friendly staff, great location, healthy choices for snacks, good and fresh coffee, wine and picnic items, and even great music. Bottom line– this is a pleasant stop on a 101 NorCal/​SoCal/​CentralCal road trip. Keep up the great work!

It’s gas… it was fine.

When leaving SLO on Monterey, or coming into town on the first ramp of SLO, this place is easy. It is clean. and I love that the Soda is really cold! Small things can make a difference.

Fresh Brewed Ice Tea! I cant get enough fresh brewed ice tea. I found a place in SLO that has it cheap.

Gas here is way too expensive. The Shell down the street on Santa Rosa is cheaper.

Our first stop on our Southerly journey. We popped in for snacks and to use the facilities. They carry Taco Works chips, which made my day. these are tortilla chips with spices and MSG, which equals super delicious. I used to buy them in college, but I havent seen them in years.
They have a bunch of 7 – 11 style food options, and even wine with descriptions, but I skipped them. The guy at the counter asked us where we were headed to, we told him Solvang, cause my friend is about to move to Denmark. He saw my friend’s SF state Id, and mentioned that there is a great genealogy library in SF, which was nice, even tho we weren’t in the market for that info. I would definitely recommend this place, it’s right off the freeway. You can pick up some kitschy SLO souveneirs while youre at it, like a magnet of a plastic starfish with a shell bikini.

This is a pit stop when ever I drive HS students. The bathrooms are always clean, they have everything my kids could possibly want to keep themselves feed while driving to SoCal. Friendly and patient service. The gas down here is more expensive than were I am at in Norcal, but that is to be expected.

The gas here is rediculously expensive!!! In summer of 2006 I was paying almost 4 $ a gallon for premium.
However the staff is so friendly, and my roomate worked here as well as a few other friends. so I came here often. its ²⁴⁄₇. they always have hotdogs on the cooker and its a well light non-​ghetto gas station right up the street from GAK! So obviously I have to give it 4 stars.
