The Queens Bees

So happy I chose The Queen’s Bees as our wedding makeup artists! They did my make up, my bridesmaids’ and the mother of the groom. Jenn and Sarah did such a great job! The looks were gorgeous and exactly what we were all going for AND stayed all night! The girls from The Queen’s Bees were also super easy to work with and super sweet! Responded to emails quickly.

I have done two photo shoots where The Queens Bees were in charge of hair and makeup. Let me just tell you I have never looked or felt more beautiful in my whole life! The entire staff is so knowledgable, easy to talk to, and make you feel so comfortable. I can’t wait to hopefully work with you all in the future! You ladies rock.

These gals are amazing! I love Jen, the owner! She’s so organized and leads an excellent group of ladies. They did hair and make up for several of the models I had at the grand opening of my bridal shop, Something Bridal. The models looked perfect! Thanks ladies!

I hired The Queens Bees for my wedding, for myself and all of my bridesmaids, mom, and mother in law. Jessie did my hair and make-​up and she did such an amazing job. All of the girls were very happy with their hair and make-​up. Jennifer was a pleasure to work with and kept everything running smoothly and stress free. I love that they travel and Jennifer is able to pick the perfect hair dresser and makeup artist to match my specific needs. Such an awesome business.

I tried two different beauticians through Queens Bees and both were exceptional (due to timing of when I wanted an initial trial). They made sure I was happy with the results and had suggestions for improvements when certain things didn’t work. Day of was easy and I couldn’t have asked for a better look.

I was a bridesmaid a few weeks ago and had Amanda from Queen Bees do my hair (they did the entire wedding party’s hair along with another girl) We were disappointed with the results. Based on their rates I figured they did quality work. I paid a lot of $ and expected to be satisfied. I was not. All the hair style consisted of was curls along all hair and a braid on the top half of the head, cute summer look. Well my curls became very loose. The braid was supposed have been fixed to were there was some volume in the middle, it was completely flat. She didn’t bother looking at the hair style from the front view she worked strictly with the back. The hair girls left right away in a hurry. Luckily I had packed a hairspray and curling iron. Shortly after they left I had to spray down all the fly aways and re-​enforce some curls. I just feel like this should have been done correctly and there was no need for me to go back and fix my hair if Amanda could have just done her work right. Make up by Paris was on point. I did like that and would recommend Paris but definitely not Amanda.

The Queens Bees were great to work with. Reeda did a great job pairing me up with Jessi. My make up and hair were exactly what I dreamed about!

Amazing!!! Reeda was awesome at getting right back to me when I needed makeup! Candace was my stylist and was INCREDIBLE! Did such a beautiful job on myself and all my bridal party!

I had a great experience with The Queens Bees for my wedding makeup and hair. They were very flexible and easy to get in touch with, but most of all they did great work and were wonderful people to have around on my wedding day. I also appreciate that they use natural products as much as possible. Reeda was very prompt and thorough in her email responses. She definitely knows her stuff, and she was there checking in with the artists during my hair and makeup trials. The lip color used on me during the trial transferred and I didn’t want to worry about that on my wedding day, so since I live out of town Reeda suggested that I find a lip stain on my own and bring it — which was difficult, but in the end I learned a lot and found something great.
My makeup artist was Jenn and she was amazing — not only did she take the very different images I gave her and put them together to create a look that worked for me, but she was just a total sweetheart and really took into account what I wanted. She was super patient with my requests, switching up the lashes and the lip color at the trial to get it just right. She also did both moms’ makeup on the day of and they both looked lovely. The airbrush makeup was pretty incredible — it didn’t budge all night and looked really natural. I was really happy with how it came out! The only thing that didn’t quite last was that one of my lashes started to come unglued about two hours in. I know that not much can be done to prevent that and the corner of my eyes are prone to oiliness; I just wish I had thought to bring lash glue!
My hair stylist was Jordy and she was also a joy to work with — just a super chill, caring, and fun person to have around. She recommended that I get highlights to give the style more depth, and I ended up making an appointment with her at Faces a la Mode in SLO for that — which was by far the best hair appointment I’ve ever had. She even gave me a quick hair cut and a product sample to use on the day of the wedding. I wish I lived in the area so I could see her for all my hair needs! I was late on the day of the wedding, but she took it all in stride and still did a fantastic job on my hair and both of the moms’ hairstyles, too.
I had initially asked to have a kit put together for me of some of the makeup used for the day of, which they agreed to do, but I guess there was some confusion because I only ended up with the lip products – however, that was all I really needed. All in all, I would highly recommend The Queens Bees for anyone looking to have their hair and makeup done on their wedding or for any occasion. Especially Jenn and Jordy!

What a hassle working with Reeda!
I was referred to her by my wedding venue for bridal make up and had the worst experience.
First. I am a freelance worker as well so I understand the business. Even though the venue is 3 miles from her salon, she charges $ 50 for her MUA to leave the salon because that’s time away from the salon. Excuse me? That’s what freelance artists do!
Also, she hustled me into committing to a certain number of appointments on the day of my wedding before I even had my own consultation (which I had to pay for) because she said many of her artists don’t work for such a small minimum of just the bride. Uh business is business, the artist is compensated for their time either way. Don’t advertise that you’re a bridal service if you’re going to let your artists pick and choose who they want to cater to. I felt like I was bidding for MUAs.
Most stressful part of my wedding planning was Reeda. Be warned!
