As soon as I looked up at the menu I knew exactly what I would get, The«Spartan.» After my Spartan races I knew the Spartan sandwich could not go wrong, and I was right! I don’t remember what was in it exactly, but it was pretty good. We ordered two sandwiches and two drinks for 16 $. I would go back.

This is my favorite sandwich place. I live over an hour away and it’s a treat when I finally get to San Marcos and order from here. I tried to recreate the My order at other sandwich shops and I can’t come anywhere close to this place. Try the Titan sandwich. It’s the best!

I enjoyed it. The soups are pretty good and I like the fact they give you the«guts» of the bread. I will be back.

This place is pretty good, just could use some more options. I love the concept and the fact that they deliver until 3AM. My favorite thing to get is above all, broccoli cheese soup! This place is worth a try but with all the sandwich places in San Marcos, they have alot of competition.

Avoid at all costs. Bread was dry and not flavorful. i’ve had readymade sandwiches at the airport that were higher in quality and taste than this.

Try again If you are thinking about eating here. Bread is over cooked and flatter than a pancake. Barely give you any meat for how much you pay for it. Lame wannabe Jimmy John imitators.

Called to place an order for delivery to the mall – there were only 2 specific time windows for this service which I imagined kept it more profitable for them – and was informed they no longer deliver to the mall for orders under $ 30. Boo! BOOOOO! I didn’t ask if the time restraints were no longer in effect because I knew the affair was over despite my tipping history. Breakups suck.

Their Tappy sandwhich is on point! Love the seasoning and herbs they use to make it. If I could have their loaded potato soup everyday, then I probably would. Everytime I visit they have super friendly service. I also love that they’re pretty much the only non-greasy food establishment open for us night owls. I wish I could take the character stories with me, though. It would be a cool idea for kids and teachers(creative writing). Just saying, this place is great and is a SM must.

My favorite quick sandwich shop! I always get The Flash and a cup of soup. Broccoli Cheese is probably my favorite soup. I like the bread for dipping into the soup. They deliver too! The rice crispie with chocolate is yummy.

Nothing really to rave about. We honestly only stopped in since the restaurant across the street had a wait and we were in a rush to eat before going to the outlets to get our shopping on. Sandwiches were very plain. Not much filling. Chicken and rice soup was hot and good but lacked flavor just like the sandwich. Everyone in our group had to add salt and pepper and honestly that wasn’t even enough. I thought everything in Texas is supposed to be bigger??? Well coming from california, I could go to any sandwich shop or deli even ones from a mini mart/gas station and I promise the sandwiches would be larger.

When my son was down from Seattle for a visit, he suggested getting some sandwiches for us from here. Since we live out in the country, I’ve never seen this place before. Anyway, we tried some of their sandwiches and and soups and I have to say, this place has some great stuff! Yeah, they have weird names for their sandwiches, but they are awesome. So, if you want more info on them, check out their website. I really like the one with roast beef and ham(love the Dijon mustard, BTW). My hubby likes the turkey and avocado. I intend to try them all! Their bread is oh so fresh and they even save the piece that they cut out of the middle so you can munch on it later! They have several different kinds of sandwiches and soups(I’ve tried the Cream of Jalapeño –muy delisioso) and chili’s. They also offer other things like pickles, chips, etc. They have this dessert bar that’s kinda like a rice krispie treat only it has peanut butter in it and is topped with melted chocolate and the serving is generous enough to share. Yum so good! Ya gotta try it. Since then, we’ve been back many times. It’s become one of our favorite sandwich shops.

When I walked in here I thought it was going to be just another ordinary sub shop. I was wrong. The Titan is amazing! The pesto mayo and sun dried tomatoes just makes it sooo good! Highly recommended

The sandwiches here are so odd… but still very good! Be sure to sign up for their rewards card at checkout– get a free sandwich eventually! The sandwich artists were very quick and hardworking on such a busy and overehelming day. I appreciate their attention to the customers complaints and their service. I got the pompeii and the quatro and it was all so delicious! Beware of the end of the sub drips though– can get a bit messy

I’ve never been a fan of cold sandwiches. I toast, toast, toast them whenever I can, but the sandwich I had was DELISH!!! I had their pompeii sandwich with a side of tomato-basil soup, and weirdly I’m not a fan of soups either. So, for me it was a weird spiritual moment. The pompeii sandwich is a sweet-chili chicken salad, with bacon, onion, tomato and lettuce. I had mine on honey wheat, a great compliment to the pompeii. They gut the bread and leave the gut on top of the sandwich. It was very cute, though kind of useless. I take it’s their way to distinguish themselves from other sandwich shops«We give our customs gut!» Also, another unique twist is that their sandwiches are based off story characters. You can read their story on the wall. The tomato-basil soup was really good, served piping hot. The employees were really friendly and explained everything to us. My two only complaint is that it seems you don’t have much of a chance to customize your sandwich(I’m thinking of subway), and if you do it’s not something they offer on the obvious. And, they don’t have much of a variety as far as vegetarian options go. I do recommend stopping by this quirky sandwich shop at least once if you’re constantly in San Marcos, though it’s not really a place I would drive to specifically from far away to have.

After kayaking my friend and I decided to get a bite to eat. The place we wanted to go to was closed, so we looked around and saw Erbert and Gerbert’s. So we tried it. Sandwiches were really good: fresh ingredients and a good ratio of meat: cheese:veggies. The sandwiches are definitely way above par for San Marcos. Soups: WOW usually soups are an afterthought at sandwich shops. I have to say the soup was the best part. Chips: hmm how to describe them kinda like Jimmy Johns

Plain Jane Sandwiches is the best way I can describe this place. We stopped in yesterday afternoon after craving a light lunch, and were anxious to come here because had not tried the place yet. But much to our surprise, the sandwiches did NOT meet our expectations, nor did they live up to the reputation that we had read from other reviews. They were to be honest, PLAINJANE, Bland tasting, lots of bread, very thin layer of meat, a smidgen of avocado, Invisible amounts of lettuce… Hey guys, I could make better sandwich at home, blindfolded! Unfortunately, we were forced to order a soup after realizing how Skimpy & Non-satisfying the sandwiches were here. As 1st Timers, we assumed this is how sandwiches are made here and that’s fine… every restaurant is different. So if you like Skimpy-made Sandwiches with lots of bread, Tiny Slivers of Meat, Invisible lettuce, and don’t mind paying More $ than other sandwich shops… Then this is YOUR Place! IF Not, SAVEYOURMONEY. Our order — QUATRO(Cranberry Wasabi Chicken): Don’t waste your money, unless you absolutely love sweet cranberry sauce… sandwich was drenched with sauce. Pretty overpowering to say the least. Wasabi? Think twice, nothing about this sandwich even hints at the idea that it has wasabi in it. Chicken was Very thinly sliced, somewhere under the cranberry sauce I pretty sure I found some. Huge Cucumber slices though… these slices were massive but Sucked for sandwich eating. Lettuce? What lettuce? NARMER(Turkey & Avocado): If you like a Bland tasting sandwich… here ya go! Take mine, please! Very Thin layer of turkey… that oddly tasted a lot like, if identical to the chicken slices in the other sandwich we ordered… Hmm? Very little lettuce. Small Smidgen of Avocado… I’m talking, such a small amount of avocado if it weren’t green color it’d be invisible. But boy… do they love giving away Mayo! There was so much, it practically squirted out of the sandwich. And again, lots of Bread. Potato Soup: Great Soup! Very tasty. But we didn’t come here for soup… :( Staff & Service: Excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Being 1st timers the staff was courteous and patient while taking our order Atmosphere: Very Very Clean & well kept. It’s a Sandwich Shop guys, not rocket science! Big Price $$. Big amount of Bread. Very SMALL Amounts of Everything Else! …BUT, Gotta say, Loved the Soup!

I absolutely love Erbert & Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop! They offer a wide variety of sandwiches and don’t mind substituting ingredients. Every time i go into the shop it is beyond clean. The staff there are very friendly and often make me laugh. I have never had a sandwich there that I didn’t like. Not only do they give you ‘the guts’ of the sandwich, which I’m sure cuts down on waste cost, but they also cut your sandwich in half! So thoughtful! Another plus is that Erbert & Gerbert’s is fairly inexpensive. My only complaint is that the sandwich club card is supposed to work after ten sandwiches are purchased… later I found out it was more like a sandwich lottery… your free sandwich is more like a surprise, and I can’t even be mad about that!

Nice low key sandwich shop. Had a good experience. Had the Titan sandwich with a side of chili. All good and pretty tasty. Only negative is they don’t have iced tea. Ok listen up midwestern folk… down here in Texas when you open up a new franchise… gotta have tea. The saving grace that got you my four star rating were those awesome chocolate chip cookies.

Never heard of this place ever so was pretty excited to give it a try. It’s advertised as a sub shop with some actually interesting combinations. I kept it safe and went with a turkey avocado as well as a «pudder»(peanut butter with strawberry jelly on French). I’ll update later about the pudder. The turkey avocado was actually no better or worse than a Subway sandwich. Actually Subway allows you to toast your bread so maybe they have the upper hand. Shredded lettuce, normal run of the mill turkey, and pretty doughy bread. The upside though. It’s pretty cheap. A little under $ 10 and I got 2 sandwiches, but the turkey avocado definitely met that $ 5 standard. Pudder: Peanut butter and jelly on French bread, but with a twist. The jelly is actually some how in the bread. It’s a pretty cool concept, actually. But. Doesn’t bump this place a star or anything. I’ll probably come back for this to take on a future camping trip haha. I’ll probably give it another try. Assuming this place is banking on late night drunken college students. I rather do Taco Bell when inebriated though.
