GEICO Insurance

To be quite frank, waste of money. Loyalty means nothing to this company. After two years of auto insurance and zero new accidents or tickets … My insurance jumped 130 dollars higher… With no notification and no explanation as to why, other than my city changing less than 20 miles away from my original residency… My bill orginially was 180, dropped down to 150 after the first 6 months of insurance (I’m young, so understandable) … And they just now tried charging me 280 dollars a month. For car insurance… When my driving record has not changed. And I have stayed with them for at least 2 years. I’m amazed. I can’t imagine the amount of turn over they have with this type of customer service. Go to a different auto insurer. I now pay 166 dollars a month. Go figure

I don’t even know where to start. Everyone at this office seems incompetent. They send you a quote over email and you call 2 days later to buy the policy, and all of a sudden the price is $ 200 more. You spend an hour on the phone trying to correct it, and then again over the next few days, unsuccessfully. Every day the price quoted keeps going up! In the meantime, the agent is basically accusing you of hiding information about past claims and of lying to her and doesn’t listen to you or let you place a word. Is that how you are trying to attract my business? A quote that was supposed to be valid for 15 days has disappeared from their system after 2 days! what’s the point of asking for a quote if they don’t honor it when you call to buy it? Avoid this place at all cost. Don’t waste your time and energy as I did.

I just purchased a policy over the phone. It was one third the price of All State, and $ 200 less than AAA. Wish I had switched years earlier, The on line quote was easy to fill out. It got better, when I called the San Marcos Office, I got a price $ 106 less than the on line quote, so I gave her my credit card number. I am very happy that I found switched. If I had done that 15 years sooner I would have save over $ 10,000. Allstate with all their discounts is a sham, overpriced.

Geico screwed me. I was a customer for years and left to get a cheaper rate. I came back when they offered me a cheaper rate than what I was paying AAA. I called to switch CC #‘s and spoke with a gentleman for a long time to give my new number and speak about my policy. He never switched my CC over to my new card, and I had moved so I didn’t receive any cancellation notices. My policy was cancelled and I called to see what was going on, they offered to renew at $ 70 more a month… for something I didn’t do. So I’m being penalized because Geico’s agents f*cked up. I explained to two different people the situation, and I’m being told it’s my fault I didn’t switch the payment to my new card, WHEN I HAD. This is terrible customer service. Not a way to keep your clients.

I have been with Geico for five years. I originally signed up with the san marcos office and had nothing but smooth sailing until I got in my first and only accident last April 25^th. When I went to claims they said I called in and canceled my insurance on April 19^th. (Shady!) Too bad their last withdrawl (Had them on automatic for five years with NO Late payments) was on May 6^th. So either one of two things, they canceled me and lied OR they are getting sued for taking my money illegally since I canceled them and all… So good company unless you need to use them. I was shocked when they called me to tell me I had canceled their insurance and they would not pay out. Had no clue what was happening these last three months.

my roommate and I had a wonderful first time experience at this Geico in San Marcos I want to give a shout out to Stacey who was so helpful and kind to us this was a very stressful situation and she was very helpful to us as we were in a difficult situation trying to change insurance I this is being really the best auto insurance experience I’ve ever had also want to give a shout out to great customer care by Freddy you’ve got to give this place a try they’re great they’re great here

On 4÷14÷2015 I was driving South East bound on Centinela Avenue when my 2011 BMW 740I hit an object in the road. Based on the nature of the impact I assumed that I had either hit a large pothole or a piece of road debris or concrete in the street. I drove another ~100 feet before noticing that the car felt different and pulled to the side to have a look at the front passenger tire to see if there was any visible damage. At that point there was none. I kept driving and finally pulled into a lot on the corner of Centinela and LaTijera to reinspect the vehicle and again saw nothing, however when I pulled out of the parking space I heard a loud noise, stepped out of the car and noticed that the wheel and tire had become almost totally separated from the vehicle and that this separation had caused extensive damage to the vehicles front end as well. I immediately phoned my insurance company (GEICO) and reported the incident and requested a tow. After ~ an hour of deliberation the customer service representative told me not only «that the claim would probably not be covered because I hadn’t had the policy on the vehicle long enough» but also that GEICO was not even willing to tow the car. I was forced to spend an extra ~3 hours on site trying to find someone to help me and to tow the car. The following day I started working with my claims adjuster (Samii) who was courteous, professional and also somewhat apologetic. She advised me that the claim would be honored and that my field damage adjuster (Guillermo) would be in touch and would inspect the vehicle asap. She also told me that she was authorizing a rental car based on the coverage I had. I thanked her and advised her that I was headed to Philadelphia on a business trip and back on ⁰⁴⁄₁₉. I was physically en route to enterprise rental car location with a coworker of mine on the morning of ⁴⁄₂₀ when I received a call from Sammi indicating that the claim was rejected and that I should not get a rental car since GEICO would not be paying for it. I asked her for a reason and she indicated that the adjuster had found that the «damages I was claiming as part of the accident were inconsistent with the type of impact and collision I had had». I asked to clarify this and asked her whether she understood that this was effectively an accusation and that the adjuster and her were essentially implying that I was attempting to defraud or lie to the insurance company. She danced around this issue and told me that there would be a secondary adjuster who would validate all of the information and that I would be hearing from them. I asked for a timeline which she refused to give me an I subsequently asked for her supervisors Candice’s information which she emailed me. She sent me an incorrect phone number by email. I complained about this and she phoned me back a few hours later to get me the correct contact details. I called Candice immediately in hopes of resolving the issues and in hopes of getting a timeline and was unsuccessful. She basically said that adjusters weren’t her domain and that she wasn’t willing to take responsibility for an adjuster’s opinion nor for the fact that her direct report re-​insinuated the allegations to me. She promised to call me back or email me the next day (⁰⁴⁄₂₁) with details and a timeline neither of which happened. It is now a week past the date of the accident and I have heard nothing in terms of a resolution other then the fact that I have been accused of doing something improper. Please help me sort this out.
UPDATE AS OF 04/​27/​2015
GEICO’s secondary inspector went to the shop over the weekend and immediately advised the owner that I was «committing fraud and that this smelled like fraud from a mile away». When asked why he believed this and how it was possible he stated that I had likely «had the car towed to the location where it was ultimately picked up and then made a claim from there». The irony is that this happened in broad day light and the car ended up in front of a tmobile retail location. The adjuster also suggested the the owner of the shop «didn’t want to be involved with this, and that there was more GEICO work to be had»

I was surprised to find that there was a local agent I could deal with for my Geico policies that we already had. Ralph was very helpful on the phone. I even asked to have a card printed up ahead of time, so I could swing by later to pick it up… since it’s pouring today, this will be helpful!

I´m from Mexico, so getting a car insurance for me and my wife was way too expensive with other companies, Geico was just great PLUS the help I received from Stacee Inglis was superb, I can´t express my gratitud to her for all the help she gave me.
I hope I never have to use my insurance, but if I do, I just hope everyone is as nice as Stacee! Way to go!
Oh, plus I got my renters insurance with them too and I got help from Cheryl Freathy who was really nice too.

Stacee inglis was an awesome agent. Even when I should have taken care of some matters on my own, she went ahead and took care of them with out question. It was a very pleasant experience.

Such a wonderful experience! I’ve never gotten insurance on my own before, so I was nervous, but they made it so easy! There were very upfront about what I needed and what I could afford.
