It took 47 minutes from when I ordered until I got my ultimate cheeseburger combo and there were only 4 people in the restaurant when I arrived. To top it off the girl working the counter was rude. I’d give this place negative stars if I could. You people want 15 bucks an hour? The bar and grill on the corner would have been faster and a much better quality burger and fries and friendlier.

The place was suspiciously empty. It was the middle of the day and I was literally the only one in there. Very strange and off putting. The fries were also disgusting. Stay away from them. The burger that I had was pretty good though.

Why was I here? A sheet of coupons arrived in my home mailbox and I had to go check my rental box at the UPS store a block away. I don’t get burgers often, but every few months or so I just crave one from any greasy spoon establishment. And I couldn’t remember the last time I’d had JIB… maybe breakfast two years ago. Well looking at previous reviews years later, the something-is-odd-here setting is still true. Around 3 in the afternoon there were only two other people in the establishment(which seems dark no matter HOW bright the sun is outside) hiding in the corner. If their hair hadn’t been dyed bright colors I doubt I’d have seen them at all. No employee was rude, my to-go order(hey, I like saving gas and am not allergic to walking) was correct(better be, one specialty burger with a side of fries and a soda that I fill myself!) and timely. Of course, I was the only one with an order in. Getting home with my to-go bag I opened the box to see the bun looked like it might be burnt, but on tasting it found it toasted perfectly. Three stars for service – maybe I’m just lucky! My problem is with the food. Black pepper burger with onion rings in there and I can’t remember – other than the first bite of onion ring – a distinct flavor in the bunch. I thought«maybe you shouldn’t have eaten the fries on the way home» like that killed my appetite or poisoned my palate or something, but I think that was just wishful thinking. Looking for a reason it was so disappointing. I remember when I would eat here at every opportunity for the fried cheese ravioli. Of course that was two decades ago. Wish the food was as good as the ads, but until then… skip it.

The service is the worst ever!!! Still haven’t got my order hour and half in on New Years. They have no respect for the customers and will not give us a refund. Poor management on jack in the boxs part, if I could get a refund I would be content. DONOTORDERFROMTHISRESTAURANTON N LBJSANMARCOS.

Typical JIB but for a location with no customers inside and employees standing around, was surprised at how dirty it was. Tables had food stuck on them that looked like it had been there for days. Stick to the drive thru!

Horrible service, rude employees, cold food. Pretty sure everything I got had been sitting for hours. It was practically inedible. This place is a horror show amongst fast food establishments. DONTEATHERE!

Normally you’d expect two locations of the same franchise to make food at the same level, but that’s not the case for San Marcos. Visit the location at Wonder World and I-35, it’s better.

This location is better for drive-thru than dine-in. The counter staff is a bit impatient and or grumpy at times with order placement. Considering how Jack’s menu has expanded over the years – almost monthly – there’s always something new to consider. And when the counter’s wide open, it might take you a second. So chill, pills. The other thing that sometimes bothers me is that there is always at least one older destitute or mentally unstable type character in the restaurant, even at high noon. The sort of person you wouldn’t turn your back on. I don’t know why this location attracts them, so close to campus, but it does. It gives me the creeps eating in here, as if something’s not quite right and any moment Jack Nicholson’s going to burst out of the restroom screaming«Here’s Johnny!». Where this place rocks is the 24-hour drive through. For years it’s been known as one of the«late-night» drive-throughs in San Marcos, and the narrow drive through lane still delivers on that promise. Two stars for dine-in, four-stars for drive through, average three.
