The only real problem I have with my experience here is their inability to LISTEN to what the customer requests. I asked for tamales, they said that they only had the chicken verde(awesome! I wanted that any ways). But upon getting home(we ordered to-go) the tamales were rojo, either shredded beef or pork. VERYDRY! I even asked them if they were hand-made, she said they were. These tasted like those microwavable kind you buy from the grocery store… Total disappointment. Don’t get me wrong though, it was edible… but I could only eat half of one before I gave up trying to convince myself they were ok. If you like that sort of thing, eat here! lol

OK, so just recently(a couple months ago); I noticed a new menu banner over the cash register that replaced the poster looking one up on the wall. I also noticed some new TVs installed. I had thought, wow ok, it was about time for a new makeover. BUT, as I ordered my carne asada fries, I noticed the carne asada and fries was nowhere near as good as it was before. Now I look at Unilocal, and people are noticing it too, new ownership. I appreciate the better salsa bar and all, but my beloved carne asada from Randolfos seemed to be of lower quality. I still love their«Nacho’s Sauce», and if it weren’t for that, they’d be 3 stars. Nacho the cook is still tight tho and it’s nice still seeing him there. If it’s your first time, don’t expect the best mexican food ever. It USED to be one of the best mexican spots up here. But no longer.

I have been coming to this restaurant since its opening. It has always been a good place to eat… Good food, reasonably priced, and clean. But a little bit ago, the original owners sold it. And now the new owner has allowed the place to become FLITHY! The tables, bathroom, the salsa bar and just the overall appearance are disgusting. There are no napkins readily available to the customers, they keep them behind the counter which the cashier gives you when she brings out the food… Totally unsanitary because she’s been handling money all day! The new owner has also removed the soda fountain and ice machine so no refills, no water, no ice. You can only buy cans of soda or bottles of water. The food is still good but it makes you wonder just how sanitary the kitchen is when the area the customers see is so unkept!

This place was disgusting. The guacamole was brownish in color. The carrots were not fresh. I ordered the rolled taco special to go and they didn’t even pack my soda. The customer service is below par. I do not recommend this place at all!!!

One of the best california burritos in southern california. Nacho the cook is great. I highly recommend it.

Only in San Marcos for my daughter’s soccer tournament. Grew up in Chula Vista my whole life so my taco shop bar is set pretty high. Randolfo’s did not disappoint! Clean environment, friendly cashier and my California burritos was super good.

Fresh, well priced Mexican food! I got a fajitas trio and enjoyed every bite, plate comes with tortillas and chips!

Love this place. For a «hole in the wall» Mexican joint … it’s surprising to go in and find the place clean and well maintained. I highly recommend the carne asada fries, taquitos or street tacos(chicken are the best!). I did try their California burrito and I have to say I wasn’t impressed(neither was the GF) — but anything non-burrito we’ve tried there is top notch.

Currently savoring the California Burrito. Every bite is loaded with all sorts of flavor. Don’t even need any hot sauce! This is why I keep coming back here. Highly recommend the food!

I ordered the Randolfo’s Taco 5 pc Roll Taco combo and a horchata yet they didn’t offer to give the FREE fountain drink. Take note… That’s part of customer service. Letting your customer know what the combo includes when taking an order. As simple as a drink, it looks deceiving when your not honest with your customers. So not cool!!!

I love this place so much. Honestly, I can’t say much for the food, BUT I am OBSESSED with the«nacho sauce», a Japanese chili paste that is to DIE for. Eggs, nachos, pizza, potato skins, it’s amazing and smoky and I can eat it plain and deal with the heat. They give it out for free to me at least twice a week and I am going to go back and give a fat tip for their generosity. They also sell bigger quantities of it. They have the friendliest staff and kitchen staff, and when I do get their food it is down to earth homegrown feel to it and quite tasty. But I go just to pick up their nacho sauce and eat it with other things. It is sooooo good. Love places that really practice good customer service, and they are no exception.

My family owned one of the first restaurants in San Marcos so inherently we are all foodies. Our expectations for great quality Mexican street food is high. Especially because my grandmother’s Mi Fiesta cooking is amazing. Rondolfo’s is one of a handful of places that I would recommend. Their carne asada is always fresh, they cook to order, the have two secret salsas, a salsa roja and a very spicy habanero salsa, in the back that are so good. They only thing that I am not a fan of is there seafood, for seafood El Cameron in Escondido, Karina’s in Oceanside or even Los Cabos in San Marcos.

Wow this place is so great. The environment is just great. I went into the restaurant right when they open(9am) Nacho was at the door he shook my hand and invited me inside. I asked him for a torta and a big carne asada taco. He had everything ready in about 7 minutes! This man is the cook! He was real nice always checking up on me. He was giving me information on all the salsas they had. The restaurant is really clean really put in order. The service is Phenomenal you can never ask for something greater then this place. The food is absolutely flavorful and the meat is well season. The portion is great you get a lot for what you pay for! This place is a great Mexican restaurant and actually reminds me of the food in Mexico! This for sure is the place to go if you are looking for something a little bit similar to a real Mexican dish

Always treated like I’m at a friends house here. Very comfortable place to fill yer gut in between work. Usually quiet inside) unless I’m there). Nacho(lead cook) is very consisten. Theyre simple fresh approach to Mexican food(that they cook to order Every day) for every happy customer is awesome. Prices are fair, and like I said, it’s the way they make it consistent, that is they’re nook. I’ve had just about everything they have on the menu in every diverse combinations possible and it is always the same as I had it previously. My Son who is very systematic yet goofy feels at home here and always has a huge smile from the special treatment/attention that he receives from the staff. They truly treat him like family there. The way every small buisness should do!

Visited this place for the first time this past weekend even though they have been there for approximately four years. My order consisted of a beef taco, quesadilla and a breakfast burrito. Least favorite was the taco. It was plump with the fillings but it was not seasoned much. It was somewhat bland. The quesadilla was ok and I would get another. The breakfast burrito was enormous, but again, lacked a little something. Mine was with ham. They have two«special» hot sauces that have to be requested. One is a dark looking clarified butter type and the other is a fiery hot habenero sauce. The latter is some pretty serious stuff. They also have a modest self serve salsa bar with a mild green and red hot sauce and freshly cut carrots and jalapenos. Overall, I’m glad I tried it and might return sometime to try some Randolfo’s other offerings. As a sidenote, the staff there were all smiles and the place is impeccably clean.

Decided to get a little Mexican food on the way home and saw randolfos. It’s nice that they offer complimentary chips cause I waited about 20 min for a carne asada burrito with 3 people in the store I ordered first but got my food much later than the others. The chips were generic not house made and salsa was not all that good also didn’t taste house made reminded me of salsa I got at the grocery store(for me good salsa is the sign of a good fast Mexican joint). The burrito arrived and it was a good size and nice and hot. Taste of the carne was good maybe slightly salty but not too bad it was moist and pretty good. I did wish the salsa was better cause it would have completed meal. Overall the wait and salsa were my only gripes. Wish I could give a 3.5 but I round down.

Location: San Marcos Stumbled upon this shop after grocery shopping at Albertsons. Parking wasn’t an issue since they share the same lot. Clean Mexican spot, no offense, but thats pretty rare. Unless you’re in a big fancy sit down spot. Workers there were very helpful, I’m assuming its family owned? I say that because someone brought their baby in and they were conversing on the side. Great service. The lady there helped me with my order and suggested the pollo asada california burrito. I had told her i wanted something light that wasn’t carne asada but somewhere in lines of a cali burrito. Haha. The place did justice, i wouldn’t say this is my favorite mexican spot but i wouldn’t mind stopping by here and there to pick me up something quick.
