Absolutely zero customer service! I usually shop at the southwest Austin Ulta. Since moving to Kyle, I went to the San Marcos location. While checking out, Lauren was not helpful and was quite rude! I hope Ulta Corporate looks at this review and puts her back thru some serious customer service training.

This review is just for the salon, and mainly for one girl — Kaylee, I believe is her name? It starts with a K. I had been growing my hair out from a pixie cut for about a year when I went in for a cut — your hair hits all sorts of unflattering stages when you’re growing it out at that stage. I had asked her for a textured bob(my hair was to my jawbone at this point) and told her that I did NOT want the back to be stacked. First, she was 30 minutes late getting to me. The only thing she actually did to my hair was trim a tiny bit of the bottom, and gave me bangs. Once her next appointment showed up, she got kind of nervous — I guess she was new. So she started cutting the back of my hair and stacked it. When I told her I really didn’t want it like that, she said«that’s really the only thing you can do for hair this short» which is a lie. She completely forgot to touch up my layers at ALL, and my hair is very thick and heavy, so I have no natural volume at the roots. She just stacked the back, partially blow dried it, and rushed me out of the chair for her last appointment. When I went to my normal stylist in Houston a month later for balayage, she got so mad at how bad the back of my hair was that she went in and thinned it out and didn’t even charge me for it. Overall, don’t go to this girl. She doesn’t listen to what you want and she rushes through cuts. Go to Olena instead if you need to go to Ulta — her cuts have never let me down.

If you are considering having your hair done here, please be informed. One of the stylists ruined my granddaughter’s hair last Friday. She went in for a haircut and highlights. She came out with hair too short and uneven and blotchy and streaky highlights. When the girl tried to fix it, she burnt her scalp and her hair turned to straw. All the hair along the forehead broke completely off to the scalp. She had to go to another salon that evening to have a specialist fix it as best she could, which took three and a half hours. It will take her months to get her healthy hair back. She was not charged for the color but was charged for the cut. After I complained to corporate, they reimbursed the cost of the cut but not the $ 120 she spent to have it «fixed.

the ladies here are amazing. I get my hair done and everyone in the salon always does such a good job with my cut and has always steered me in the right direction for product. keep up the good work ladies.

Was nervous about doing my balayage, but Tara was super sweet and understanding. She did really nice blonde(non brassy) highlights. Strongly recommend her

5 minutes until open time and they opened a door for staff but made a mother carrying a newborn walk all the way back to her car in freezing weather. Give me a break! Staff is unfriendly, hard to find in the store. I’m switching to Sephora.

This is the worst ulta I’ve ever gone to. Ever. It’s messy, it’s disorganized, the girls that work there roll their eyes at you when you ask for help, or point in a seemingly general direction when you can’t find something. I spend a lot of money on my make-up, and I usually purchase a lot of high end make-up, however all of the San Marcos ulta’s store employees have managed to discourage me from shopping at this location. I have never been treated so poorly at an ulta in my life. It’s worth the drive elsewhere, or better yet, ordering make-up directly online.

Their customer service is awful. Their staff is stuck up for no reason, as they are all not even close to as attractive as they believe they are to be treating customers so horribly. In addition, the staff does not have much knowledge on the products that they carry and are careless when helping customers with questions. Worst Ulta I have ever gotten the displeasure of shopping at. I hope their DM sees this.

Had two bad experiences in the salon department. Personnel doesn’t know what there doing when it comes to pairing stylist with customer for appointments. On the other hand, five stars to management of this store. They responded immediately to customer complaint and tried to earn my business back.

If I could give this Ulta 0 stars I would. I have gone in multiple times and spent a lot of money here only to be ignored and mistreated. There staff is so unhelpful the last 3 times I have attempted to come in I didn’t even here a «hello» or «welcome». I couldn’t even find an associate if I had a life saving question. When I tried to purchase a product that THEY mispriced but rang up more expensive they wouldn’t honor their own mistake. Let all be warned, there are about a million other places I would rather go then return to a place that puts it’s customers last.

I like coming here often. They have a great return policy, so I have no complaints there. But sometimes some of the staff can be a little stand-offish, snotty, or altogether not helpful. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable going in wearing casual clothes, because I feel that I’m getting a once-over from head-to-toe. Their salon isn’t too great either. Once went in for a color and cut. The color washed out after 3 washes and it turned out the cut was uneven, unbeknownst to me until I went elsewhere for a trim. But otherwise, I love the selection of makeup they carry. Love the great sales they have, too. I just advise you to do your homework on the products they carry, so you won’t have someone hounding you with all the info on what you’re looking for.
