Big O Tires

Had an emergency with a flat tire and these guys snuck me in and took care of me quickly as we had a 2 year old in need of a nap in back. Great customer service!

Man. i wanted to like this place. I had a flat and Hubby called around for tires. There was a Unilocal deal so we thought we were golden. He confirmed that I could go during my lunch and get service. I show up… wait 2 hours. and then check in to say I got to go. and they say… i’m next on the list. They hadn’t even moved my car yet!!! After letting them know I had to get back to work, they said they’d get two techs working at the same time and to give them 10 – 15 minutes. after 30 MORE minutes, we were finally done. No sorry… no nothing… I wasn’t the only one there complaining either. there was another guy with some friends who said they’d been there for 2+ hours. If they knew it was going to take long, they should’ve just communicated that!

Fast service in and out for a tire rotation. Made it to work before 9. Wish they would of inflated tires to specify though. Air pressure stay same before rotation.

Excellent customer service! These guys are so nice and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. We take our cars here for everything now

My wife and I were traveling for the weekend and we noticed a pretty bad leak in our back tire. Due to the negligence of a tire shop at home that «repaired» our tire by cutting off the head of a screw and leaving it in the tire. They told us it had been taken care of and was fixed. Obviously not. These guys were very helpful and carefully documented what they found so we can go home and demand the other shop pay for all this nonsense. The other shop put on paper that they fixed everything and it wasn’t leaking. If they don’t want to pay then I’m calling the BAR and I will press charges. I am so glad we found them while traveling hundreds of miles from home. I wish we didn’t have to spend the money but they made a crappy situation better. We couldn’t be happier with them! Great guys, understanding, and the took their time with us when we were obviously upset. Would come back here in a heartbeat.

Swapped my winter tires for my summer ones and installed new TPMS which I brought myself. All for $ 60. Can’t beat that. Thanks guys!

Jesse was super helpful and did a great job. Everyone is really nice and honest. Would recommend to anyone who is having tire problems.

Exceeded expectations, came in with my BF to get his tires realigned. High integrity, quality of work and customer service. They could have price gouged but ended up saving us a ton! Loyal customers for life!

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Jesse was helping me out and took care to explain exactly what was going on with my truck and went out of his way to find applicable discounts.

Picked this store based on online reviews, but completely disappointed.
Ordered a tire, told to arrive 3 – 5 biz days. Called many times, without getting any real info. On day 10, I was, finally, informed that the tired was just out of Pennsylvania! So it is just shipped on day 10 since order is placed.
Shipping issue was not store’s fault, but how come I was not told anything until day 10? My schedule was messed up.

Came in with a tire sensor issue. They checked the car out and reset the sensors, didn’t charge us anything. Great experience, guys!

I came here for an oil change… i had a coupon that was compatible with the quick stop oil changer across thw street. 90+ minutes later i am still waiting. Im beginning to think my time would have been better spent axross the street… 30 min oil change. Friendly staff, clean waiting room, no frills. Maybe get dropped off next time. Oh… it’s wednesday. Not saturday.

Great and quick service. Had to put one new rim and 4 new tires on. Called the morning of and they were done by noon. From what I seen as I sat around, they’re a very busy business. People are either working or working with new customers and that’s all. I plan to come back here when necessary. Sanjeev is the one who helped me from start to finish and he was great. The other review about him, I honestly don’t understand the complaint. If they’re closing at 5pm, maybe you should plan to get there by 5pm. It’s not that hard. Like I said, from what I saw, they are a very busy business and I don’t blame them for wanting to leave at closing time. And if Sanjeev was sick, who cares. The man is straight forward and easy to work with.
I’d recommend coming here, just make sure you work out the best prices, which Sanjeev is great with.

This review has been long overdue. My hats off to Jason and Sanjeev. This Big O location is one of the few places where they actually know what they are doing. They give great recommendations based on their expertise and experience and are great at what they do. They aren’t a pushy tire and services location. I’ve been coming here or years and now they used to be a little busy with having to file appointments just to get service, but no more. They now have a full staff and are great at giving the best service i have ever received from a automobile shop. I definitely would share this location with my friends and have them bring their vehicles here for service. Thank you guys for the great hospitality and service when it comes to my vehicle.

Called this place at 9am today after America’s Tire in San Mateo took a day to tell me a Pirelli tire would not come in for another week. Knowing my tire with a sidewall bubble would not last, I hectically lined up tire retailers to call.
On my first call, to my amazement, Big O Tires told me they could get my specific tire (special order everywhere) by 2pm today. I said absolutely, and was given a reasonable out the door price.
At 1:58pm, I get a call telling me the tire was delivered and I could come in. I said I could be there in 20 minutes, but was told they were busy and if I wanted to come in later it would be best. I show up at 4:50pm and was out 40min later. No upsell. No hassle.
The only reason I knocked off a star was because the mechanic restarted my service interval counter that keeps track of, you guessed it, the next service, not the tire pressure. Would have appreciated if they asked if I knew how to reset my tire monitoring system and not try to guess by toggling on my car’s computer.

I take my truck to the guys at Big O all the time. I have a ford raptor that actually gets used for off roading and always needs alignment.
I dropped it of at 430 one day knowing they close at 5. The guys took my truck even tho they close in 30 minutes. I knew if it wasn’t done by 5 they would have to do it the next day because like any normal working person you leave at 5 not 505. I came back at 5 on the dot and the guys just about had it all done. One of them stayed behind on his own time and completed everything. Sanjeev and Jason both are top class guys and know what they are doing.
As for the negative guy Samson above who came after hours and expected everyone to wait has 491 bad reviews on other peoples business. His review is insane and completely false.
Can’t thank these guys enough great work every time.

I don’t get why everyone has given this place five stars. Perhaps it is because I came on a Saturday, which is probably the slowest day of the week for them. And perhaps because there is another tire store a couple of doors down.
I had my vehicle towed here the other day (Saturday afternoon) by the AAA tow truck driver as it was the closest shop and because he had a bad experience with taking another person to the other tire shop a couple of doors down.
Sanjeev, who is the assistant manager, took care of me and got me the only ones that they had for my vehicle. Only brand, that is. I told him «Yes, I will take them.» He told me that the vehicle would be fixed in an hour, which was true as I got a phone call from him. However, he never bothered to call a second time about forty five minutes later reminding me that the vehicle is still there and to request that I come to pick it up before they close at 5. That’s dishonest, especially when I finally got there via a friend at 5:10 PM. Couldn’t believe that everyone had left. They obviously leave immediately after they have closed for the day and does not bother staying to clean things up, such as their lobby area. By the way, their lobby isn’t kept very spotless.
I went back there this morning to retrieve my vehicle. Again, Sanjeev was the one who took care of me. However, he was pretty much the same way as he was the other day. Fighting a cough. I had not mentioned that above. Sorry! Yes, he was coughing the other day and yet again this morning. As a customer, I certainly would wish that an employee much less the assistant manager would please stay at home rather than work when you are not feeling well. Perhaps it is because the store manager hardly works there. Just hangs onto the title. Just a guess.
Before I left with my ride up there this morning, he told me that I can have it inspected at the location anytime that I get a nail in the tire or that something punctures the tire. Now, why would I return to this particular location? Especially when I do not live in the area and was up here for a holiday event the other day. Obviously that he is so stuffed up and not feeling well to realize that when he asked for my address the other day, I told him what city that I live. It certainly wasn’t San Mateo, Foster City, Belmont, or any one of the other neighboring cities. Finally, no smile. And no «Please come again.»
I would suggest avoiding this particular Big O location and go to either Firestone (a few doors down) or Wheel Works (half a mile away).

Honesty, professionalism, and attention to detail are all things that describe Jason and the crew at Big O Tires at 2160 S. El Camino Real San Mateo, CA 94 404.
My tire picked up an object on Hwy 92 and I was lucky enough roll into the Big O Tires shop as it went totally flat. I was met immediately by Jason who explained everything simply and clearly.
In short order they had my spare tire on my vehicle at no charge, hard to go wrong with an outstanding group like this.

I have four fairly new (less than a year old) set of Run Flat tires. My front wheel tire has been losing air randomly. It happened on two occasions after a car wash. I was thinking it might be due to my wheel not being aligned on the tracks while in the car wash area. So I had two visits to Big O tires for air.
When I thought I will be driving my car to Santa Barbara, I went to Les Schwab and have them check all four tires just to make sure I won’t have a problem on the road. Told them issues I had with the front tire. They removed all four tires and checked for holes/​leaks and told me my tires are good and advised me to have someone check the wheels/​rims if the tire loses air again.
I was driving normal for a week without a problem. But after another car wash, I had another flat tire and drove straight to Big O. When the tire is not taking air, after trying a few times, without removing the tires from wheel, the mechanic declared the tire is damaged because I’ve driven it flat so many times. My tires are RUN FLATs and they are made to be driven low on air as long as i don’t go over 50mph and for short distance.
So we agreed to buy new set of front tires but specifically told the mechanic to please inspect the rims for damage. The mechanic wrote the instruction on the work order but I don’t think they really inspect the wheels properly. So when we came back to pick up the car when the service is done, we asked again if there are issues with the front rim Chris said «We would have called and let you know immediately if we found something, but the rims are fine.» I felt better that time because I thought they fixed the problem.
I had the car sitting in the garage the following week as I was out of town. After I got back from Tahoe, I drove to Costco and the brand new front tire from Big O lost air as usual as I was driving. The same problem I was having before the new tire. Luckily I am almost at Costco and the Costco tire guy helped me check why the tire is not taking air. He lifted the front wheel/​tire and tried adding air and it worked. Advised me to go back to Big O and have them check the rims. The tires are obviously not the problem.
I went back to Big O and this time they checked the rims. Chris said there is corrosion on the inside of the rim but there are no cracks. Tires were not the problem.
I end up buying tires when i’m not really supposed to (yet). Lost the good expensive tires I had on my car, which should have lasted for more than a year, at least. I cannot return the new tires because they disposed my run flat tires. Will I ever get my money back because they did not inspect the rims as instructed? I felt like all they care about is to sell their tires and get you out of their shop as soon as possible. They did not make any effort to figure out the real problem, knowing my tires are fairly new. They just decided I need new tires. :/​
Three stars is for Sanjeev’s sad face when he saw I am upset the new tires did not solve the problem. It’s one star for Chris telling me «.that’s why I am a mechanic, not a sales guy» when he was explaining why i need to get new tires. Really? Average score is two stars.

I bought new tires there recently. The tires were fine and the guys were great to work with, as usual. However, when I went to get the car, there was a big door ding in the drivers side door. It was the first thing I saw when I approached the car. They said that their guys are really careful and it could have happened anywhere, which is totally true. It could have been in the parking lot before the car was serviced. However, it is so noticeable the I know it didn’t happen before I brought it in.
The guys there said they would have the owner follow up with me. He never did.
I’m bummed because a big reason to deal with these guys was the after purchase service, but now I’m not comfortable leaving my car with them.
