Blanca’s Cleaning Service

I wish I heard about Unilocal before hiring Blanca’s «CLEANING» Service. I hired Blanca to «TH ROUGHLY DUST, DO MIRRORS & WINDOWS INSIDE & WINDOWS & SCREENS OUTSIDE» of our mothers house. Blanca’s cleaning service was to be a gift for our mothers 87^th B-​Day present from her two daughters and her grandson. She left me in the lurch so I didn’t know she would take the job till the day before her B-​Day. Blanca showed up late with two young girls, one was so young she had to be her daughter. They came in with a step ladder and a big plastic bucket. Blanca went straight to the kitchen sink put some cold water in the bucket that was too big for the sink and some Palmolive dish soap I had sitting there and went about the house dusting my mothers wood furniture, lamp shades, picture frames, mirrors and what ever else was in her reach with dirty wet rags. The three of them split up in different rooms and areas of the house. The youngest girl sat in one spot acting like she was doing something for I don’t know how long. When I’d try to see what she was doing, she would «GLAIR» at me till I would go check on the other girl who also seemed to be busy doing something with her dirty wet soapy rags. I saw Blanca clean the three main windows where she could be seen but I don’t know if she did the others inside, outside or not. I couldn’t watch all three of them at once. She did not wash any of the screens. The windows came out fair considering they were new. She was hired to clean the screens too but did not. You may ask how could you not keep track of three workers in your own house??? To my defense, it was the first time I’ve hired help to dust and do windows and I’m new to the area and unfortunately thanks to this nightmarish experience now new to Unilocal as well. I was trying to take care of my 87 year old mother and my husband who is also in ailing health as well as baby sit Blanca and the two children she portrayed as workers. The three of us paid her $ 200.00. The next day when I was able to go around and check out the «DUST JOB» I got. I knew they used wet dirty rags on ONLY SOME of my mothers good wood furniture. Not all though cause they only did half the furniture the other half they missed or just chose not to do. The crystal bowls and candy dishes and glass objects were not washed in the sink. They were wiped off with dirty wet soapy rags. The 3 ceiling fans (part of the job also) still have smeared grease on them. They looked so lovely for the party when the lights were on … NOT. I was livid. I contacted Blanca’s cleaning service, for lack of a better word And she said. «Sorry I don’t did slip shot job». I don’t believe I have to give a whole star. They need to minus stars to be accurate. Way less than a half a$$ job and still Blanca gets a star. Bummer it was all around. I’m one to look on the bright side though. My MOTHER won’t know. She 87. Thank God. It’s the only thing that could be worse than having your house DUSTED by Blanca’s dirty wet rags. Can you imagine. I know I’d try not to. Now I thank God for Unilocal!!!

Do not use their service. I looked for a 4-​star service and must have made a mistake — anyway I ended up with Blanca and her «team» of one — a completely incompetent girl who after 2 hours could not clean a mini-​kitchen. I had to show her how to clean a refrigerator. After 2 ½ hrs Blanca showed up together with another woman. Only my constant pointing out of greasy spots, sticky corners etc got the to clean.
An absolute disaster. After 4 hours of intense supervision the house ist still not clean and I was so exhausted that I did not oven negotiate the overpriced request.

DISHONEST BUSINESS!!! IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS, I WOULD! Blanca herself came to look at the apartment that needed cleaning. She quoted a price and indicated that a crew of workers would be there on the date requested. Only one cleaning woman came. When Blanca’s husband came by, I asked him why only one person had come instead of a crew as promised and he stated that it was a SMALL apartment. He then asked for payment $ 20 above the quoted price. When we contradicted him, he tried to say that it was because the apartment was LARGE and that Blanca had not seen it so she didn’t know. We then told him that she in fact had seen the unit and gave us a price quote. It was apparent that he tried to extort more out of us than what had been agreed upon and that his story changed from the apartment first being SMALL and then being LARGE. The cleaner was a nice woman although she spoke almost no English, had stopped cleaning to take a meal break even though the price quoted was the total per hour to clean the unit. It seemed obvious that $ 20 per hour was much too high for the mediocre cleaning job that was done. It was strictly superficial cleaning and she had not done all the things that had been included in the cleaning quote (windows, patio) before she left. If you want a terrible cleaning job and dishonest business transaction, then go with Blanca’s Cleaning Service. Otherwise, you would be much smarter and safer to clean the unit yourself.
