Dr. Tong and her entire staff are terrific! They take the time that’s required to address all problems and are very thorough. They follow up and genuinely care about their patients well being.

Dr Tongs and her colleagues are very nice and thorough and very gentle on my teeth I would recommend them to anyone I know. The office is small and family oriented its a nice little gem on 25^th ave in San Mateo. Parking during lunch hours can be a little tricky but in general is ok.

I love this dentist! Everyone is so sweet and helpful. I’ve only been there 3 times and I feel like family! My first visit, I was aware of 2 cavities and Dr. Tong full inspected them not wanting to drill unless she had to — it’s hard to find dentist like that! Anyways, I recommended this place to 2 coworkers and they love it too!
Plus! Massage chairs/​movie glasses/​filtered water :)

Dr. Jing examined and cleaned my teeth yesterday since Dr. Tong is out on medical leave. Dr. Tong is a very good dentist. I’ve had my share of poor dental offices. Dr. Tong’s office has the latest in technology and I really feel that my teeth couldn’t be in better hands. Dr. Jing’s style of dentistry was extremely thorough and absolutely wonderful. The entire staff is fantastic. Rachel is very charming and makes me feel very welcome and comfortable. Jeanete at the front desk fought tooth and nail with my Guardian Insurance Company that wasn’t paying up on a procedure that was done early this year. Jeanete never gave up and working together we were able to convince the insurance company that they needed to pay for the procedure. Her perseverance saved me well over $ 1000. What a great team! Thank you!

My review is long over due. Let me start off and say I have been coming to Cynthia for 10 years straight.
Prior to Cynthia, I always just went to the nearest dentist. In fact, I started out this way with Cynthia. Her practice just opened up and she was just down the street from my work. At the time, she was literally the most high tech dentist I have ever been too.
Now, after numerous job changes I no longer work in San Mateo. However, I still keep coming back to Cynthia. She is super detailed and really cares about her patients. She has also done well and hired a strong team.
I have recommended her to numerous friends and family. I plan to go to her practice until she retires (at which time I will be sad and need to find a new dentist).

Dr. Tong rocks. She’s been our family dentist since we moved here in 1998 and does a great job with both us and our kids.
Dr. Khoo has also been great — we’re going to miss her when she leaves this summer but we know we continue to be in great hands with Dr. Tong
Comfy waiting room, friendly staff, she always lets you know when something’s not right, and she never rags on you too much about flossing etc.

As odd as it may sound, I always look forward to my visits to Dr Tong’s office. The friendliness of the staff is so welcome when I come in at the end of my workday. The extra attention provided when needed is reassuring and appreciated. I would recommend Dr Tong or Dr Khoo to anyone needing superior dental services.

I just picked that office by chance — it was across the street from my chiropractor and not the closest from my home.
I do not regret that choice since I have found a wonderful team.
From the receptionist who always tries to accomodate your needs to both dentists (I mostly deal with Dr Gloria Khoo) and assistants — everyone is genuinely friendly and professional.
They performed a very thorough exam of all my previous fillings and were able to give me an accurate situation on each. They take the time to give you as much (or as little) information as you want. They are excellent with children who are not afraid to come over and see them.
the best part is you leave with a voucher for a smoothie at the neighboring place when you’re numb and can’t eat… They even have 2 guest passes that hey lend to their customers to one of the best attraction of the Bay — That’s a sign of trust.

I will not be going back to this dentist office!
I just rec’d a call from them saying that I owe them 90 dollars from a visit back in October of 2008. Keep in mind that I’ve actually been in the office for a cleaning in 2009 and was never infomed of this balance. The person who called me made it sound like they are going through their files and finding alot of people that owe them money. It basically sounds like someone wasn’t doing their job for quite a while. I asked them why I never rec’d a bill and was told that they do not send out bills. They told me that the balance was from x-​rays that were taken on my first visit. Keep in mind that when I first went there I made it VERY clear that I didn’t want them doing anything that my insurance didn’t cover without informing me first. I know that my insurance covers basic x-​rays because I have had them done at other dentists and never been charged a cent for it.
I do want to say that I never had any major teeth issues the two times that I went their, but both of my cleanings went well. During one of my visits Rachael, their assistant, didn’t come back from her lunch which I thought was VERY unprofessional. But the Dr, Khoo handled the situation wonderfully.

I’ve been coming for over 10 years. Dr. Tong and Rachel are absolutely wonderful, very friendly and professional.
The waiting room is very cozy with a TV area for the kids and plenty of magazines and books to keep you entertained.
The rooms are always very clean and organized. The chair has an optional heat and massager, so you can completely relax and let the professional do the best work on your teeth.
Last year, they added a new dentist to the office her name is Dr. Gloria Khoo. She’s been a marvelous additional to the office. Great sense of humor.
Come on by and see for yourself how wonderful they really are.

Dr. Tong and Rachel are friendly and professional. They were very good about explaining their examination; what they were looking for and what they discovered. Dr. Tong applied a composite to my chipped front tooth and it looks good. I unexpectedly had a cavity filled while I was there, so it was not a pleasant experience, but Dr. Tong and Rachel made it as comfortable as possible. I’ll go back.

Dr. Tong is the best dentist I have ever had. She takes the time to carefully examine you, she uses the latest technology to help you, and she helps prescribe a tailored hygiene regimen that will make you future visits more pleasant.
Genetics cursed me with soft teeth with deep grooves so I have had far more dental work than I would wish despite brushing, flossing, and other things. I had become resigned to bad news every time I went to the dentist.
On my first visit after I moved to San Mateo, I found her and her staff to be very thorough, and unless I was mistaken I think they actually listened to me! They showed me how & where I needed to brush better to prevent cavities, how to better fight gum disease, and set me up for a follow up appointment.
My second visit convinced me. I had followed their advice and instruction and my teeth and gums were healthier. I have been going there for over two years now and so do my wife and several friends and coworkers. No new cavities to date!
Dr. Tong’s office remains a testament to my many recommendations and everyone I have sent has been very happy with her.

OK, I know, it’s dangerous to review your dentist and give them less than five stars… the power they have over you when you are in that chair goes beyond being able to tell you bad jokes and stories about their babies.
So, I’m glad to be able to give Dr. Tong five stars. I avoided both pain and dentists for over a decade until that fateful day I met a defective shrimp chip that broke my tooth in half.
Dr. Tong was recommended to me by family.
She fixed my tooth up. She’s very nice and gentle. Her staff is also great, especially Rachel. Her assistants have changed over the year, but always for the better. Her office is very clean.
She will go at great lengths to keep you from feeling pain, and she’s not afraid to try the newest technologies to see if they can help. OK, that’s a double edged sword, like the special magnifying glasses she’s used on me a couple of times and kept me at her office for twice as long as normal since she could see all this plaque normally invisible to the naked eye. I’m glad she doesn’t use those anymore.
This doesn’t mean I look forward to the appointments, only freaks like to go to the dentist, but that I go at all should tell you something. I like to Unilocal,but not in a dentist chair. I have recommended Dr. Tong to many of my friends and family and so far they are all satisfied
