finally a person who does hair in the city of san mateo! dominique is really great! she is simply herself with a great personality and smile!
her work speaks for itself and she knows what she is doing! it took me almost a yr to find someone who can do my hair i’m so happy and grateful. she gave me a trim and not a hair cut .flat iron and a nice strong hair wash after having braids for 3 months.
also i was n the shop for less than 2 hours it was sill morning when i left. thanks dominique!!!

Dominique is such a great stylist. What I like is she doesn’t jugle her clients which mean I dont sit under the dryer for an hour waiting on her to finish two other clients. She is friendly, listens to what you want, and very professional. I cant wait to go back!!!

The backstory: I recently moved and my former stylist was no longer a viable option. Dominique came HIGHLY recommended from several friends who are walking testaments to the quality of her work — they ALWAYS look incredible — and she took me last minute for a full install with a little leave out.
Ladies: do not go anywhere else. Dom is professional, efficient, affordable, highly skilled, and (added bonus!) absolutely hilarious; when she was done, it was like one of those movie makeover montage moments where I had gone from drab to next level fabulous in a surprisingly short amount of time. She has sound knowledge of technique and aesthetic, so you’ll leave looking your absolute best. I’m serious.
She is the total package. I’m officially a loyal customer — thank you Dom!

I couldn’t be more satisfied!!! It was my first time with her this past Saturday, and it definitely will NOT be my last. If I could give more than five stars I would. She’s very time efficient, and her skills are amazing. I went to her for a sew in weave, and she did it exactly how I wanted it. Her personality is amazing, she made me feel like I was more than just another client in her chair, but the vibe she gave off made me feel more like going to see a friend. Definitely recommending her to everyone! You will not be dissatisfied.

A great hair stylist is hard to find! The search can be disappointing, frustrating & exhausting. With that said, I’m glad my search is over. Dominique is a skillful hair stylist. She knows what she is doing & how to give her clients the best look for them personally. She is fast and does excellent work. Dominique is also very personable & professional. She appreciates her clients time & schedules appointments mindfully so you don’t have to wait for hours for ‘your turn’. You will leave at a decent hour with beautiful hair you can step out & show off. Her prices are very reasonable. It’s nice to have someone local to go to.

First let me say this… I have been wearing extensions for over ten years. I was very satisfied with that stylist that had been maintaining them for that entire time. An unfortunate event led me to look for another stylist. Being from the east bay, I tried a few stylist here and was never fully satisfied with the install a few weeks later.(when it counts the most) I simply ran into Dom by chance and in a non evasive way she mentioned that she does installs. I figured I couldn’t lose anything by making an appointment after all it couldn’t have gotten any worse than it had been. Dom took her time. she is very professional. and operates in a timely manner. and was completely able to manage my natural hair and braid a pattern that worked with my crown. She is the slight perfectionist and always willing to work with whatever texture of hair you provide to her. She never complains when I say «Dom can you add more hair» She just does it and does it well. Dom has extremely grown and developed her craft over the last 4 years. She is always taking classes and looking for ways to add to/​improve her skill level… She is well on her way to becoming one the of Bay Area’s top installers…

This review is for Dominique. All I have to say is her work is Amazing.!! I Discovered her Via Craigslist about a year ago. I reached out to her desperately after I had just went to another hair salon who installed a weave and had me looking a disaster. My hair wasn’t cheap by the way. Dominique removed the hair and styled it making me feel really Sexy afterwords. If you were like me having horrible experiences with different salons and like me pay for high quality hair dominique is the go to person With that being said I am sure she can work with both low and high quality hair .You wont waste your money. I been to many salons and I must say she is the best in the Bay Area. She is very friendly and professional and entertains you by singing, and playing videos from her ipad and small talk here and there. She really cares about her customers and will not go to anyone else.

My wife travels all the way to the Bay Area to get her hair done… Dominique’s Vanity is the place to go for women to get their hair and eye lashes done. She has been doing my wife’s hair for years and I can honestly say see there is a distinct difference in the appearance of my wife’s hair and lashes. Dominique is also licensed to provide «Nova Lash» for her clients. Nova Lash, (according to my wife) is a service that only a handfull of beauticians have been proficiently trained to perform. Although traveling to the Bay Area may seem a bit extreme, Dominique’s unique expertise far surpasses the skills of other beauticians my wife has experimented with in Southern Cal (at least up to this point). That being said, for all who read read these reviews, I dont take writing them lightly. I sincerely mean what I say.

Dominique is the best hairstylist around hands down she has been doing my hair since middle school and has gotten better and better at her craft over the years I won’t go to anyone else to do my hair

I initially came to Dominique for extensions to add some fun fullness several years ago, and recently returned to her in a panic after a nightmare haircut. She did a great job with the medium-​grade hair I had bought at a beauty supply store, and kindly recommended a higher grade product for lasting power and management. I took her advice, and have been thrilled with the results. Her work looks not only completely natural, but stunning! She’s professional, fast, and a sweetheart to boot! If you’re caucasian/​hispanic/​asian and want extensions but are hesitant to have them sewn in, don’t be. I’ve tried many methods of extensions, and Dominique’s sew-​ins are by far the longest lasting, least damaging I’ve experienced. Her new shop is in a great neighborhood, private and adorable.
