Fabulous VIP Nails

I came in after another salon completely messed up my nails. Helen listened to what I wanted and asked me how I was each step of the way. She let me check the shape and fixed the shape after I said little shorter or little more narrow. She really took the time to pay attention to details. She now has another customer for life!

Changing my review for this place… I kept coming here and really love the way Helen does my nails. Not only that but she’s super nice, understanding and cares about the overall health of your nails. I usually get acrylics and she sometimes advices me to take a break so my nails can breathe. I’m a happy girl and will be coming back to Helen.

I have looked so many places but this was by far the best i have found compared to the other places i have been to in the area. Troy did my Pedi and his sister did my Mani and i love it totally. A great job done. Both her brothers does a nice clean job and from now this will be my place to go:)))))

There is a new owner at the salon — Helen — and she has made it a full nails-​only salon — I’m so happy to be back.
There are many choices in San Mateo (25^th Avenue has 5 salons now??), but the big, glitzy salons really don’t appeal to me. Just give me a small, simple nail salon providing excellent service and I’ll keep coming back. I drive out of my way to go to Fabulous VIP Nails and it’s worth it. I also love that they put a new plastic bag in the soaking bowl rather than risk infection.

This place was exactly what I needed after hiking in Yosemite for three days in snow and rain! Helen and her brother worked together — her brother did my pedicure and Helen did my manicure.
The pedicure was fabulous. He was so thorough and got rid of all dead skin. The massage was strong and relaxing. The polish on my toes was amazing!
My manicure was equally as thorough and relaxing. Helen is he sweetest lady you’ll ever meet. She is a recent transplant from Palm Bay, FL. I am from the Orlando area, so we had a lot in common. My nails turned out awesome! They looked clean and the design looks really cool.
I also got a lip and eyebrow wax. Helen was very careful not to change my eyebrow shape at all and just did a quick cleanup. She also plucked the extra few hairs that weren’t picked up by the wax.
The nail salon was spotless and they used a fresh nail file and buffer on me.
This place really is amazing. Helen and her brother are very sweet and friendly and are very good at what they do.

I was really disappointed this time :(i got a shellac manicure and regular pedicure. My nails were completely uneven on both hands and then completely uneven between my hands. I mentioned it, and the manicurist kept looking at my nails and didn’t do anything. The prices really did sky rocket.
Last time i got a shellac manicure and shellac pedicure with french tips and it was $ 65. This time with only shellac manicure and regular pedicure it was $ 63. Ridiculous. I did get a $ 3 discount and I think it’s because of the how uneven my nails looked. It’s too bad, i really did like this place.

Just got a mani/​pedi done here for the first time. Service is as great as everyone says and they really take the time to clean your cuticles and don’t rush the process in any way. I had an appointment for 615 and unfortunately had to wait still which is the only downside, bc what’s the point of making an appointment only to have to wait? But once I got settled, I did enjoy it. I noticed the owner turn away a few people for a wax and nail service bc they were already busy, which is nice bc normally these places just want you to get in and out to accommodate more people. They also give jot a stamp card so you can rack up a free service in 10 trips. I would definitely recommend it!

I rarely get my nails professionally done, but needed a sturdy manicure to get me through a month-​long vacation. Fortunately, I was able to get an appointment here in time for my trip and was incredibly impressed with the quality of work, as well as the service.
Initially, I thought a gel manicure would suffice, but, after explaining how long my trip would be, was advised to get an acrylic wrap plus gel, which was the perfect thing. The price couldn’t be beat, either — $ 45 for everything, plus I was offered tea and sweets during my visit.
The nails lasted through the entire trip and even through a bit of manual labor, as I needed to help construct a last-​minute photo booth set for a party! I loved the experience so much, I’ll be going back for a fill soon.

Hailey is so sweet! Helen is also. They were very friendly and welcoming. You’re also offered tea or water and fruit snacks! Small place but worth it!

I love this cute little nail salon. They always make me feel relaxed and have been consistent with their work and overall customer service. I always get a deluxe mani/​pedi or gel mani’s… I’ve been happy every time:)

Helen and her brother took our late appointment at 6:30pm and stayed pretty late to ensure that we had an awesome mani-​pedi.
My friend and I both did the Deluxe Pedicure and Gel Manicure. Both Helen and her brother were awesome — Helen is a bit chattier than her brother, but both did excellent work. I love my manicure! We both have been very pleased with how long it lasts even though we have been doing manual labor with our hands (cleaning, washing dishes, working with papers, etc.). Normally something would be ruined by now. Will definitely come back again!
Tips: Would recommend booking an appointment since I think it is mostly Helen and her brother only working. There is only 3 – 4 pedicure chairs and two manicure tables.

This is my go-​to spot for nail care. I get gel manicures and regular spa pedicures whenever I come here.
Gel nails: The gel nail polish always lasts until I get my nails redone — which is a huge win. I love the colors, but do wish there was a bigger color selection since I’ve come so much now I’ve gone through a lot of colors. For first timers, you will have a huge selection. EXTREMELY thorough job is done in cleaning, cuticles, and she shapes nails absolutely perfectly — and cares that they are perfect before she lets you leave the shop.
Spa Pedicure: I do love that they are always able to offer me a color that matches the gel nails. I do wish that the massages were longer, as they are good but somewhat quick. They do a very clean job — hygiene is a TOP priority at this salon so rest assure they clean everything before use, including using fresh supplies on every new person who comes through their door.
Customer service is another top priority — which is such a relief. Make sure to call before hand, and also — when you enter, relax — this is a quiet calm nail shop, the feeling is comparable to a spa.
They are also the only nail shop that offers you coffee or tea, and a snack! I wish I knew the name of the snacks, they are delicious!
