RACIST Associates! Went here on Memorial day sale in the evening &2 of their sales associates were having an open conversation from one end of the store to the other: Associate 1: «Mexican women are the only ones who are beautiful» Associate 2: «You serious? What about Philippino?» Associate 1: «You kiddin me!». laughs«thats a fact though» … And the conversation went on… openly in front of shoppers. I refused to shop there as I could not stand it any longer. Plus nobody greeted me, or asked whether I need any assistance, they were busy in their own racist conversation. Sorry Gymboree, maybe the management needs to teach some ground rules and train their associates before setting them out alone in the stores.

Terrible service. I asked the worker to help me call another store to see if they had a jacket available in a bigger size. She said, «Sure, I’ll call when I have some time.» What the??? There were other customers in the store but she was not waiting on them and there was no one in line to check out. I browed/waited for about 15 minutes and left the store. She didn’t even attempt to make the phone call. Awful customer service. I ended up ordering the jacket online.

Messy and the workers are lazy. Wouldn’t take a return on gifts without a receipt, but another associate at the Gymboree in Stanford mall helped us happily without any question.

Store was *packed* with stuff. The clearance area was a mess. The lady who helped us(sorry I didn’t get her name) wasn’t very memorable. She didn’t check on us once(although did help with a sizing question when I hunted her down to ask it) and it took awhile to get checked out, even though there wasn’t any one in front of us. Decent deals, compared to their normal prices — but still high in comparison to similar stores.

i guess it’s the way i dress. somehow the«friendliness» of the staff usually isn’t quite as friendly towards me. they say something like: «thank you for visiting us. how may i help you?» then w/me, they said the first half and looked at me and skip the latter half. i think i look like i can’t afford them. i’ve visited them a lot in the past 7 years. it used to be one of my son’s favorite store in the mall, because of the TV. i like it because i can get some shopping and browsing done in peace without a toddler tugging me to leave. i think having a TV is really a smart thing. i love the gymboree style. the material of the shirt is .soft. the price though. is usually quite steep. even sales items can be pricy. many long sleeve T-shirts i bought here have been my son’s favorites. i was just there yesterday. and was totally reminded of the unfriendliness and the long wait of the line, particularly when i was in a hurry. i quickly grabbed stuff i needed for my kids and waited forever at the checkout. there was only 1 person in front of me, and it took more than 5 minutes! i just don’t know what could take so long to checkout a person’s purchase. like the other review mentioned, the other person doesn’t offer to open a new line when they see you waiting.

Not a huge selection of newborn clothes, but decent. Pretty tight store that it’s hard to get around especially with little kids and strollers around. I found a perfect outfit to give as a gift and I thought it might be on sale, but the sale signs and prices weren’t very clear so it turns out it wasn’t. That was the only outfit that I liked so I ended up getting it anyways. At least they give you free gift boxes.

Honestly, I do most of my Gymboree shopping online. Super quick($ 5) shipping. I have had to make a few exchanges at this store and this is where my review comes in: great, helpful customer service. Returns/exchanges are easy breezy and they always have what I’ve needed in stock. Cute little tv sitting area for the kiddos too.

Gymboree tends to be a hit/miss with me. I found what I needed quickly but then had to wait in line for a very long time while some lady returned a bagful of items. Instead of opening another register(line was forming), the other rep was fixing store displays. I should have left my pile of items and gone to Gap instead.

I tend to tiptoe and talk in whispers in these stores. I have 16 nieces and nephews and some of them even have kids(I was an uncle while I was still a laddie) but I still find these kinds of stores intimidating. Does this look too much like an old lady’s MuuMuu? Should I buy to fit the kid now or the kid in 6 months? Is this store too corporate for my friend and her kid? Too lame? If I’m out of my league at some grownup stores, I’m WAY out of my league buying baby and toddler stuff. Gift receipts, the great confidence booster. Cool looking stuff, at least to my dork eyes. Really nice staff, too.
