If you want an over zealous and ridiculous home inspection use Mr. Folgi. He was involved in the recent sale of my home and had the buyers paid attention to his inspection of my 1957 mid-century Eichler style home they would have ran away. After I spent nearly $ 700K in renovations over 18 years his final statement of «all the renovations of this home are substandard» was utterly ridiculous. I built a tiled bathroom with skylight and imported an Italian sink, total cost $ 28K, upgraded my great room with oak floors, new windows, marble mantle, new walls all new paint, wing wall etc. total cost $ 100K. Replaced existing decks with new all redwood decks, built a craftsman style entry way with glass block. Put in two new 100AMP services and replaced fuse boxes, and also put on a 5.98KW solar system with Solar City approved by PG&E. Mr. Folgi had the audacity to question the solar system. All the work was done by local contractors, including the roof by Norm Armstrong, bathrooms Turner Construction, electric Bowerman and Half Moon Bay electric. Stay away from this over-zealous inspector if you know what is good for you! In the end he couldn’t even find the water shut off, believe that? So what Mr. Folgi is saying is that all the contractors I hired did substandard work? I don’t think so!

I represented a seller in a transaction and had MPF do the property inspection report. The inspection report was filled with boilerplate language that did not pertain to the home I was selling. Along with the awful report, the company left the valve open on the water heater and it leaked into the garage. My seller demanded a retraction or correction to the report and when I called Michael Folgi to discuss the report, my calls were ignored. He immediately cashed my $ 475 check though… It was by sheer luck that the buyer of my listing was a contractor and laughed at the erroneous information contained in the report. He closed escrow without incident, however, had the buyer not been a professional in the industry, this would have been a complete disaster. I would not use this company in the future and I would not recommend them to clients or accept a report from them on future transactions. Very disappointed! A simple return telephone call could would have been appreciated.

Fifteen days into living in my new house and I cannot believe all the situations the«Inspector» missed. Neither can my roofer, contractor, or plumber. Stay away.
