Incredibly useless management and staff. I went in to return a
order with my receipt and they required my physical card to process the return. Explained to the manager that I don’t have the physical card as I used a purchasing account through work. Wasted my time trying to offer me a gift card when all I wanted was a refund back to my account. Finally she offered to call
support and they issued a refund over the phone.
Staples is so stupid that they are going to have the store send my $ 36 calculator across the midwest to Chicago for my account to be credited for the return. Meanwhile, I have to wait for my stupid calculator to arrive in Chicago because Staples requires your physical card for the return. Complete, complete, waste of time.

i came into the store and was ready to buy a replacement cable for my iPhone however i was told by an associate in less then five seconds of walking into the store not hello but sir we do not allow bags in the store it was an asian gentlemen and no I’m not racist how can i be when i to am asian in my own right. Im just describing what i saw. I didn’t know my north face hayStack backpack (don’t worry i paid for it) was saying hey look at me I’m a thief. i turned around and just stared at him i think i heard crickets. then he continued to speak and tell me to leave my bag up at the register. i was pretty far from the guy so he was really loud and there were other customers around. HOW EMBARRASSING! when i was leaving he didn’t apologize or even say that was the store policy or come walk over and make me feel welcome or come to me in a more inviting manner and explain the policy from the get go which they have no sign or any documented wording stated no bags allowed. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had anywhere and over a thunderbolt connector.

I just spent some time at an Office Max and I must say the two places are like night and day despite selling similar products. Staples just feels like a much warmer place to browse for office supplies. Must be due to the carpeting and the lower ceilings. Office Max felt like wandering through a giant warehouse after a zombie apocalypse.
The customer service here was good too. I signed up for a rewards card and then immediately asked if I could use a coupon that gave you extra rewards and they were like no problem!

Been here only a couple of times but I do like that people are very helpful. Normally I never ask for help but this time I am a bit confused with their fax machine. They were so kind to explained to me how it work. Wish that they were closer to where I work but it’s all good. A Hispanic girl that seems to be there a lot is pretty patience with people. She just have such calmness to doing her job, even when she is busy. Love that!!!

They have a good selection, but as a delivery provider for a business they are horrible! They are never on time with their deliveries.
Don’t waste your time!

EASY RETURNS DOES NOT EXIST! BECAUSE THEY THROW YOU OUT OF THE STORE IF YOU TRY TO RETURN YOUR MERCHANDISE.
Terrible customer service. Sorry, I mean worst or no customer service. Today I went to try to return some Ink cartridge I bought earlier, still new and unopened, not expired (⁶⁄₁₇), without my receipts. Their return policy is Easy Reutrn and is labeled at each cashier. But the cashier Christian said he can’t do the return and it is up to the manager to decide it if can return them. But the policy clearly stated that return without receipts can be returned at anytime for the lowest price within the last 30 days. So I told Christian that the return policy clearly stated that on each cashier.
Then comes the worst customer service of my life as the store manager yelled from across the hall and told me «you are asking me a favor and be quiet». I again told him this return policy clearly stated it is Easy Return and asked why I need his approval. The store manager, Alan Wong, then screamed at me and said «I am not doing your return and get out of the store!» Are you serious? The so called store manager failed to help and tell the customer to get out of the store because he doesn’t like to be told what the policy is?
I then asked him for his name and he said Alan. I asked for his last name and he would not answer. He told me he was with a customer and would not tell me his name. If he was really with a customer, why would he bother to come across 30 feet and refused my return and told me to get out? I refused to leave and then 5 minutes later he came and reluctantly told me his last name because he knows by then I was going to call customer service and complain about his behavior.
So beware, returning merchandise at Staples is up to the manager’s mood, not according to the storer policy like it is printed.
Don’t Shop at Staples!

Poor service. The place was empty and workers just standing around. Nobody greeted me when I entered. No help when I was up and down the aisles.
This is like any other staples. Carry the usual stuff.
Very large inside a plaza. Lots of parking.

I can count on zero hands the number of people who care that your inbox is at zero.
Good for you.
Have a cookie.
Take a nap.
Congratulations on your competency.
I don’t know what the rest of us would do without you.
And while I’m being snarky, no one gives a sh*t about how productive you were this afternoon and if you were really *that* busy you wouldn’t have time to post about it on Facebook.
These are the thoughts you’ll have coming to this Staples.
The people of Silicon Valley are a lovely people, but I’ll be damned if there’s not a massive percentage that need constant praise along with stimulation.
THREE times I’ve been in line here behind someone who couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge
the cashier, even when being told their total and that it was time to swipe their cared. Nothing. When finally awoken from their trance they often come to saying such things as, «Oh! I’ve been so busy and just got to inbox zero. Had to update on facebook.» or «Sorry, been really busy.» as I can see with my own eyes that they’re skimming through filters for their selfie on Instagram. And then I harpoon them as they stand at the register and the whole store applauds.
The store itself is clean and pretty average. They do a decent job of stocking the goods I’m usually in need of (GD printer ink & sharpies), storage tubs are almost always on sale, and though the register lines can get pretty unruly, it’s easy to see why when you get a glimpse of the customer specimens.
Overall, it’s a decent store and despite it being next to a Target, the parking on this end usually isn’t too crazy.

I dropped by here on my way to Target to check out their back to school deals. Seriously, people should consider getting their school supplies at Staples because I find some of their items are cheaper than the big T. For instance, I picked up 1 box of pencils for 68 cents. A set of erasable pens (which Target doesn’t stock) for $ 3. Such a deal! Staff was super nice too.
Avoid the madhouse of school supply shopping at Target. Come here instead!

I buy all my office supplies from this location because they always take care of me and deliver my supplies same day or the following day. My hat goes off to store manager, you have put a great team in place. Good job!

The shipping center sucks! They had both my usps priority mail shipped two days later than the promised date. Right now one of the packages still lacks tracking information since the date the label was created! I am going to make a late shipment claim. One of the shipping label was created wrong (address spelled wrong), but the guy told me that was OK?! I asked him to correct it.
Bottom line– Never use their shipping center !

NEVER never ever ever ever have a store associate order you an item.
I made the mistake of having a store associate order me an item to be shipped to my home. When I got home, I reviewed the receipt and noticed that he ordered me the wrong item. I immediately called and canceled the order.
A month later, I find that my credit card was still charged for this canceled order. (Note: I never received any item in the mail, and the order is listed as ‘canceled never mailed’ in the Staples system.)
I call customer service, and after over an hour of being transferred here and there, they tell me to go to the store for a refund.
I go to the store, and the associate states that because I don’t have a physical item to return, I have to get the refund via calling customer service.
I call customer service again. I am instructed that because it’s a store order, it has to be refunded in store.
Again, I have to travel to the store. The associate calls the «help» desk, and claims the «help» desk is going to process my refund within 4 days.
After 7 days and no refund, I go back to the store. I had to threaten to call my credit card to fraud dispute the charge in order to FINALLY get my refund processed by the associate.
I will NEVER by anything online from Staples because it practically takes an act of Congress to get a refund from Staples.

This is my first review for an office supply store but this store and it’s staff definitely warrants it. Organized isles, fully stocked shelves, easy to park location are a plus. What really makes me come here versus the other office supply stores in the same area is the staff. Always friendly, always courteous, always helpful. I love that I’ve been shopping here for years and some of the original people are still there. Keep up the good work!

Got my iPhone 6 here! Extremely quick service and I traded in my 4s and wrapped everything up immediately, got apple care too!
If you are lining up at an Apple Store, you should come check this place out or make a call.

My friend and I were waiting in line for iPhone 6 at the Apple store, but when we heard staples carries the iPhone 6. We came in and get iPhone 6 quick and easy; we didn’t have to wait in line. Furthermore, the sales person was nice and offer the trade in program for my iPhone 4s. Got my iPhone and gonna enjoy now.

I searched high and low everywhere for composition books that had graph paper in them. Target had a sale for them for $ 2 bucks a pop but ran out of stock and said they were not going to re-​order… huh? There’s a demand, and you don’t want to supply it. Come on now…
I found out over twitter that Staples had them for a buck each. I checked their web site and it was $ 2 bucks a pop. Word is you had to go in store to get the $ 1 each deal. I called South City. They were out and said that they’d be back in stock on Saturday so come Sunday but call before. They did tell me to try San Mateo.
I called San Mateo and they said they had them in stock, and lots of them. Hallelujah!!! I headed over there after running errands and searched, couldn’t find them. Asked the front desk and he said it’s under the technology sign. I went over there, and boom there they were. There seemed to be a lot.
I wanted 160. They only had 153 of them. I bought them all. I will go back here or to South City to pick up another 20 when I have time.
Oh yeah, South City said there was a limit of 30 per teacher. San Mateo said there was no limit. Go San Mateo!!!

Came into the store to shop for art supplies for my daughter and left with a new phone. They offered to check on line for me in order to find the lowest selling price on my iPhone 5s from all the local retailers since I told them I’ve seen it cheaper elsewhere. AJ the associate that was helping me found it for me for $ 99 and price matched it. They also bought back my 4s from me which made the 5s free after the trade in. This guy’s are AMAZING !!! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!

I walked into the store after seeing their ‘sandwich’ board advertisement for phones. I needed a new phone for work and was ‘shunned’ by the Verizon store down the street. As soon as I walked into the store, several associates greeted me (kudos for that). I started to look at the phones and an extremely nice young man named Gabriel who took the time to show me unique features of the phones (Galaxy vs. iPhone) — and I was impressed by his knowledge of the products. Due to the deals they were offering, I got a Galaxy for a penny. So, they get 5 stars for an AMAZING sales associate!

First, I’ll say that the employee who helped me was actually polite and while he was helping someone else (I didn’t know that he was) he was still patient with me as I asked a question and came right back to me after he finished helping the other customer.
However, he told me about a special on software saying that I’d get $ 20 off since I was buying a laptop. So we went to the software aisle and saw all sorts of packages. I asked if a certain package would work for what I needed and if it qualified for the discount. He said it did. Once at the register, the discount wasn’t taken. Oh, I guess it doesn’t apply to this item. I still didn’t get it even though they had promised it. Ok, I’ll still buy it because it’s the cheapest one. Oh, wait, you need to be a current student to buy this. Ugh. I bought the more expensive option and got my $ 20 off, but still paid $ 30 more than if I bought the other software.
Now this is a review for a Bay Area Staples. In the Bay Area, you have to pay extra for a bag when you check out. Given that I temporarily can’t drive (health reasons), I figured I’d pay the 10 cents to make it easier to walk the 1.5 miles back home with a new laptop. He gave me a bag smaller than the laptop, such that the handles couldn’t meet each other and I’d have to use 2 hands anyway. Really?! See the attached photo.

So, I was in Burlingame for a conference and my colleague and I had to get 30 packets printed STAT for the following day. Seriously — we called at 4:30pm, they close at 7pm. While they were a little short with us on the phone (they said they were working on several other big orders), we showed up at 6:45 and they were all boxed up and ready to go! We checked our order, and one of our print-​outs came out funky. We tried pulling it up on their computers again, but couldn’t get it to work. They immediately gave us a refund. We apologized for our last-​minute order, and thanked them profusely for getting it done.
