Takashi Shigihara DDS, PhD

I had a great experience and as much as I dislike going to the dentist, I will look forward to having all of my future needs met by Dr. Takahashi and his team. They were very careful, professional and easy to work with.
Communication was seamless and done via email, text and phone. The office is extremely clean, warm, welcoming and the equipment looks to be very modern and state of the art.
One additional thing to note is that previously, I had to make two separate visits for dental work and periodontics work — I can do both in one location with Dr. Takahashi’s office.

So this review is not out of frustration, but the staff for the front desk is quite possibly the worst I have experienced in any health institution whatsoever.
The dental hygienist who does the cleanings [Mizako] was the only pleasant experience I have had yet. The front desk people both of them over the course of 6 months misquouted multiple times and did not even tell me I was technically «out of network» and after doing all of the work [one treatment] I was left owing just as much as 75% instead of 50%.
I have been to many dentists before and have been to a new one since. Yes, Takashi is doing things for both your best health interests and his best monetary benefit. Replacing all of my metal fillings when he could leave well enough alone? My other dentists almost screamed when they heard this and got other opinions at the same time. Making everything sound like a dire and necessary situation was not the way to go about it, felt like more of a scare tactic and if the front desk woman Sasai had told me I was going to end up paying much more than quoted I would have gotten out of that chair and went elsewhere.
I think he does do great work albeit the structure of the office was just insufferable to drag on for months after my visits.

This is hands down the best dental office I have been too. The ambiance is relaxing and very clean. They take steps to make you very comfortable… comfty couches, validated parking, coffee, tea, etc.
The staff is very friendly and they answer all your questions. You’re never rushed out, or left alone to figure something out.
Dr. Takashi himself is very, very gentle, very concerned with his patient’s dental health, and patient experience. His work is wonderful. Never had an issue with him during my check-​ups or fillings. If anything, I’m very impressed with how detailed he is, how he takes before and after pictures of your teeth and explains everything he did.
The dental hygienist is great too. She is very, very thorough! She carries on the patient experience value too. She let me select a Pandora radio station and kept up a friendly conversation with me. Sometimes I found her to be just a tad bit rough, but hey, it was kind of necessary. I prefer her to do it right the first time so we don’t have to go back a second time…
Overall just a great, great dental office. Highly recommended.
And yes, like most people, the idea of just going to the dentist makes me sick to my stomach.

They will take good care of whatever problem you have with your teeth.
