I came in this morning because I had an issue with the internal hub on my bike slipping. I walked right in and was helped immediately by T.K. He was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Not only did he inspect and adjust my bike, but he took the time to show me exactly how I could make the adjustments myself(my bike wasn’t even purchased at this shop). Like the saying goes, «give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.» Thanks Talbots and thank you T.K. I’m new to the neighborhood and you’ve got yourself a loyal customer!

This is a great shop with an awesome staff of mechanics. I come here often for help when I get stuck doing my own maintenance, and these guys are always able to bail me out or offer up advice. They’ve never tried to sell me something I don’t need, have talked me out of purchasing things that wouldn’t work like I want, and have even referred me to other shops in the area when I’m hunting for random, obscure small parts. Stand-up dudes who possess a massive wealth of bike info. Most recently, I had a cassette lockring just completely seize up on me. No amount of leverage could get it loose, and I tried everything, managing to break my chainwhip at home along the way. Alejandro and T.K. were able to help me out while I waited. Alejandro, who clearly must possess the strength of ten men, managed to get that thing loose and sent me on my way in no time. Thank you guys! You rock! This place can get busy on the weekends when the weather is nice, but the wait is worth it! Glad to have such a great bike shop in my area.

Best bike shop around! We have bought one bike and several accessories from them. Sales staff is always very helpful and takes the time to answer questions. I don’t know how competitive their prices are but we appreciate their service and selection so much that I don’t really care about the prices. It feels good to support a great, local shop.

We got very good service here. Went in with my husband to rent a bike. He is a big and tall guy and another store turned us away for rental. Talbots staff happily helped us find something suitable and even gave my bike a quick oil and adjustment.

Fuel efficiency is simpler than you think. With my son’s upcoming 5th birthday fast approaching, I brought him here to choose a new bike. I found the selection and service to be outstanding. My high-energy, athletic son was able to find his next big bike with help from Nick and many of the awesome staff members. There was no pressure, and Cadence was even able to try out the bikes in the facility. He was happy to find the bike he loves and has decided to give away his previous two bikes to charity. I have also purchased my new bike here. Now, both of us enjoy some awesome father-and-son moments riding our bikes together. Last weekend, my wife joined in the fun and all three of us ditched watching the Super Bowl to having a family bike ride. Smiles all around. Thank you Talbot’s Cyclery, we shall return for supplies and yes, more pedal action.

Don’t be mistaken: even though Talbots is a toy shop, it’s also a top-notch bike shop with a stellar staff. I have a vintage road bike from the 80s. It’s still in good shape, but has a little wear and tear over the years. I came in to replace the inner tubes and tires. Not only were the quality of the tires better than other local bike shops, but T.K.(the extremely friendly and knowledgable bike serviceman) helped make sure that my tires were put together so that I would ride safely. On that note, T.K. is quite possibly one of the best bike service repairmen I’ve had the privilege of handing my bike over to. I highly recommend going to Talbots and working with T.K.

Over the past few years we’ve bought bikes for everyone in our family from this shop and they are tops in customer service. The sales people are friendly, helpful, and not pushy. They have a full service department and reasonable support program for the bikes they sell. Supporting a locally owned business such as Talbots is worth every bit of the tiny premium we’ve paid to buy there.

I needed to raise the handle bar on my bicycle and went to another bike store where I was quoted $ 125 to have it done. Then I went to Talbots and not only they had the part in stock, but also they installed it on the spot free of charge, saving me $ 100. The important thing was their willingness to be helpful and their competence in assessing the best way to get the job done. Many thanks Talbot’s

Amazingly helpful and knowledgeable staff, and they have a great selection. The owner Gary is super helpful, and goes out of his way for you. Having recently moved back to the area, we were in need of a decent cycling store(we ride on the weekends, nothing extreme but like to keep our bikes maintained) and this place is a gem! Feels like a throwback to another, more people-orientated era.

Excellent experience with these peeps. Reasonable prices and great service. The guys aren’t too talky but they fix your bike WITHOUT acting like they are cycle kings of everything and you won’t leave feeling flat cause you’re a part time cyclist. I’ll be back! My Cannondale rides like a dream! Thanks guys!

Dropped in to ask advice from the bike mechanic about my broken bike spoke. Mike was so helpful and professional, he was able to fix my spokes within the hour. He really saved the day for me, and made my day as well! Great service from Mike, and a great service dept. at Talbot’s. Thanks again Mike!

Literally walked in because another bike shop said my right shifter needed some fixing Costing $ 100+. After waiting a week+ for the other shop, nothing was done to my bike and when I asked when I can expect it all I got was excuses and«asap». Brought it Talbots and Mike literally just adjusted the tension on the rear dérailleur cable(that other bike shop did the«tune up» and switched my cables and housing as a winter special) saving me said $ 100+ I can confidently say this shop will be getting ALL of my bike business.

Oh, they have the coolest bikes and things on wheels here! MTBs, cruisers, unicycles, scooters, skateboards and all the gear to go with it. For all ages too. All at comparable prices. Staff is helpful and willing to help with any of your millions of questions too. Their bikes are literally lined up all over the store. They do repairs towards the back end of the store as well, so you can definitely rely on them for any mishaps or mishapened parts. This cyclery is directly connected to Talbot’s Toys which is equally fascinating. Such a wonderful idea to connect the two stores since you big adults can get your two wheeled toys together then cross through to the toy store to get your little one’s game and toy shopping experience on. Count on being in this store for some time to look through what they have if you don’t already know what you’re needing. I’m certain you’ll walk out with more than you expected to walk out with.

Talbot’s is the only cycling store that I go to on the Peninsula. This is where I purchased my bike, but even when I buy even the smallest part, they will put it right on my bike. Service is quick, and reliable. They have a moderate selection of bike helmets and clothing for biking. I just bought a great wind breaker(in fluorescent green), that has arms that unzip to a vest. There is no substitute for supporting a local business that will be there every time I need help. Harriete

Today I was at Talbot’s cyclery & what great, friendly service I received! They have a large inventory of all kinds of bikes from bikes for little ones to adults of all ages. Really impressed with the variety of helmets and with baskets! Bought what I needed and will definitely be back! Their attention to details for your needs is amazing!

I don’t have a particularly in-depth experience to share, but it’s the kind of thing that really makes me appreciate a place like Talbot’s. Let’s start with the facts: I don’t know much about bikes but have about a 1.5 mile commute to the Caltrain station and didn’t want to buy a new car so that my wife and I could drive separately. I recently bought a used bike and, as we’ve established, I don’t know much about bikes so I have no idea if I got a dud or not. My tires have deflated twice in the month I’ve owned it; in taking it to two different shops near me, they said this is because of the type of tires I have — it’s something they do. However, what they are not supposed to do is completely go flat with a popping sound, which the back one did just about as I reached the Caltrain station one weekday. I was not keen on carrying my bike back to my house but fortunately Talbot’s is on 4th St., so I didn’t have to carry it far. I knew they closed at 6pm so I hustled to get the Caltrain home in time and arrived there about 5:45. They easily diagnosed the issue(I mean, it was pretty obvious but still) and said they could easily fix it the next day; I had even started the conversation by saying«could I leave this here tonight?» and hadn’t planned on biking home. That said, there was one more person coming to get a bike and replacing a tube is apparently pretty easy so they just knocked it out in the five minutes before they closed(and after they were technically closed) so that I didn’t have to leave my bike overnight. I really appreciated that! Don’t know how their prices on new bikes stack up, but if you need a repair this is a solid place to go.
