Sweet potato chips are great, service is wonderful. I had the Blue Shroom, which is portobello mushroom sandwich with blue cheese and arugula. It could’ve been great if it weren’t so salty. The dessert Ho-Ho was not bad but definitely not impressive.

Yes, it’s Three but this place gets a FIVE! My Fiancé, a friend, and I came to Three for brunch on a Sunday. We showed up without a reservation but they were nice enough to find us a spot in their open seating area. To drink we ordered a pitcher of Mimosas that was very refreshing with fresh squeezed OJ. I had the California Benedict and tried some of my Fiancés Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. My Benedict plate was very good. It had an avocado guac spread, spinach, and hollandaise sauce with breakfast potatoes on the side. The ambiance is good. This place is aesthetically pleasing with brick walls, garden décor, and industrial pipe lighting. We enjoyed the service, food, and drinks. Definitely coming back. My fiancé is set on coming for her birthday breakfast brunch in a couple weeks from this review.

The food here is delicious! We came on a Sunday morning for brunch without a reservation. The hostess sat us in the bar/open seating area. I ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich, which was the perfect mix of spicy, salty, and sweet. The sandwich came with applewood spiced bacon, fried chicken, waffles, and a chipotle maple syrup. The meal comes with fruit or potatoes. I ordered the potatoes which were cooked up with onion and peppers. This meal did not disappoint! My fiancé ordered the California Benedict and my friend ordered the Beta Omelet with a pancake. Both were happy with their meals. Three has a hip atmosphere and good service. We will definitely be coming back soon.

They are making major profit on their mimosa pitchers. The champagne is Andres which is like $ 4 bucks in the store and poor quality. That is primarily why I am giving 3 stars. We sat at the bar because they were only taking reservations, but figure we had the best customer service. The food was good! Can’t complain. Our party ordered chilaquiles, fried chicken, chicken sandwich, corned beef and hash. All were seasoned well, but I question good quality because of cheap champagne. Sorry

Wow, was not expecting a 5 star dining experience at Three but that’s exactly what we got! Our group of 6 was looking for a place to meet-up between San Francisco and the South Bay on Memorial Day and every possible spot we found was closed. Boooo! Cue Three Restaurant and Bar! My friend verified that they were open, easily made a reservation and we were promptly seated! Btw: If you check-in on Unilocal M-F you can get free coffee — this worked out nicely for us since it was Memorial Monday! AND the coffee was delicious! After reviewing the menu there were a few standouts. I’m always a sucker for Chilaquiles but it never quite meets my standards, either there’s not enough flavor or the chips are too soggy. According to Unilocal the Chilaquiles here are bomb so I trusted the reviews and, YUP, they were awesome! I added steak to mine and it was not very much steak considering the upcharge but still a nice addition. Make sure to get your egg over easy! My fiancé got the fried chicken and waffles and that was perfectly prepared as well! The chicken was perfectly fried, piping hot and very flavorful. Overall I was very impressed! The service was smooth as well minus a server who when we asked to take a picture for us said«no» and quickly walked away o. O oooooook. I’m going to keep this place in mind for sure next time we need to meet up for brunch on the peninsula!

Pros: — Excellent fried chicken and waffles sandwich — Takes reservations for brunch! Cons: — Steak and eggs — for $ 24 we were served overcooked, low quality meat — Very. VERY slow service

I’ve been to Three a few times now and seem to have pretty mixed experiences. The evening dinner and drinks and bar service were decent. Would totally come back for the cocktails, which were right up my alley. The mixture of small plates were actually pretty generous, although I wish they were better about labeling the ingredients in their dishes. We ordered a pasta entrée item that sounded incredible and based on the ingredients listed was vegetarian but then my guests and I start eating it and realize that the ravioli are stuffed with chicken… which was super strange and didn’t go with what were otherwise really nice flavors in the dish. Also disappointing because half our table was vegetarian and I don’t want to sound super dramatic about being ‘poisoned’ with meat because I’ve def had meat slipped into my dishes before on accident but this meat didn’t taste at all. The burger can be loaded up with all the treasured ingredients(bacon, grilled onions, multiple kinds of cheeses, etc) and looked incredible though I did not actually have any. The fried cheese was delicious and I totally could have eaten two plates on my own and happily farted my way out of there. The smoked salmon flatbread was aight. For the price I probably wouldn’t order again. For brunch, I don’t know that I really have any positive feedback regarding the food, which came out at odd times, there were very few non-meat options, and everything was pretty lukewarm by the time it reached our table. Service took forever to the point that we thought we’d been forgotten about until we saw all the tables in our section waiting as well. I think my favorite thing about brunch were my cold potatoes, and that’s not saying much. I really can’t recommend coming in for the pre-lunch menu based on the execution of what we had, but I think Three is an excellent spot for drinks and some small plates split among friends.

The food here is good, but service seems a bit spotty. Our group had to ask our server twice for almost everything because she was forgetful. Everyone’s food came out with long gap periods in between, as well. Anyway, onto the food: onion soup is highly recommended for those who are fans of French onion soup. Everything is very hearty and presentation was good. There are plenty of TVs if you want to watch a big game while eating or hanging out at the bar.

I really appreciate that Alicia, the chef and co-owner, herself reached out to me after our disappointing brunch experience. She genuinely wanted to hear about our experience and admitted said that some of the issues that I have pointed out, she is aware of them too and have globally addressed them w/her team. It takes a lot to own up to these issues and I commend Alicia for not trying to make excuses for how her waiter treated us that Sunday afternoon. Both my husband and I spoke to her and she was very apologetic that we were treated in such a manner. She asked that we give them another try and after our conversation with her, we are convinced that she really wants to make things right. I am confident that the next time we dine at THREE again, Alicia would have already helped her team improve on the issues we had experienced. Thank you Alicia for being an awesome owner and for truly caring about your customers’ dining experience! I will be sure to update my fellow Unilocalers on their improvement after my family and I dine here again.

This was probably the worst breakfast I’ve had in while. Once seated we quickly ordered, the honey off the Benedict menu and myself off the à la carte section. At the last moment we ordered the Bacon Bitz, which turned out to be the saving grace of my meal. The Bacon Bitz(braised pork belly) was amazing — and even though the bitz were drowning in sauce and the presentation was like an iceberg in water — they were crunchy, flavorful, and tender. It was flavored very similarly to my side of beef patty, which was also quite good, though there was way too much of it(2 patties) and it was slightly too salty. These however was the highest notes of the meal. My side of chicken was like a salt lick and practically inedible. After confirming with the honey it really was way too salty, I sent it back. Originally not wanting it re-made, the waiter pushed to re-make it for me and when I received it back it was over-cooked(crispy) and devoid of flavor. I likened it to the chicken breast my mother would make and freeze for me, microwaved later making the edges dry and hard. Bad. Bad and shocking that it was the second try. To wrap up the awful and just meh meal were my over-salted potatoes — which couldn’t be drowned by the two glasses of water I got during my meal because they had no carafe on the table and the waiters did not consistently fill our small glasses. Three must have been a great concept. I honestly think they had a star chef come up with the menu, but their current line cooks are lazy, heavy handed with the salt, and not keeping to any original plating that may have been taught. The service was friendly, but inconsistent and not genuine. Paying for the meal was a chore since the hostess was flaky… all in all, all I wanted to do was run, it was really that bad.

Holy crap, we just found our new favorite go-to restaurant! So many different items, we could barely make up our minds! We started off with the bacon bits, which were 2 inch bites of slab cut bacon with a sweet chilli sauce! DEAD! KILLER! AMAZING! Boyfriend got the burger with bacon, mushrooms and gruyère, which didn’t take the cake for best burger ever, but just to be clear, is still very very good! I got the house made bleu-gnoc(bleu cheese gnocchi, duuuh) with skirt steak! Texture and flavor was out of this world! I can’t stop talking in expletives I’m still so excited about it! The drinks were different, inspired, amazing and healthy pours. You definitely can’t go wrong! And! To top it off, our server, Stephanie was attentive without being over bearing. She had basically perfect timing! We already can’t wait to come back and we left less than an hour ago!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday, and was pretty pleased overall. I have to say I wasn’t expecting it to be one of the best brunches I’ve had since it is San Mateo, but all things considered it was decent! I started off with a carafe of the mimosa which was tasty. For my entrée I got the fried chicken waffle sandwich, which was kind of a beast! I’m usually not the biggest waffle or fried chicken fan, but wanted to try something new. I think overall it was decent, but was just a little much for me. The syrup made it super sweet, and the addition of the bacon was a lot coupled with the fried chicken, AND the fried eggs on top of all of that. I liked the concept, but would probably try something different if I came back. Overall I think this is a great place to come to for brunch if you’re in the area. It’s a nice alternative to trekking all the way up to SF for brunch, and has a lovely atmosphere and vibe!

A very solid brunch place that is definitely now a part of my «brunch choices» for the weekend when I’m craving a good place to go to! If you’re looking for just pancakes or any basic brunch item done really, really well, this is a great go-to spot. I got scambled eggs, bacon and a pancake. Thought everything was made really well and it was super tasty. Their coffee is also really good, which is pretty noteworthy considering that most brunch spots have pretty bad coffee. The only negatives to this place are that it’s far from me, reservations are an absolute must(good and bad to that) and the staff was a little bit rude. I don’t think it’s their fault, I just think that the reservations model makes it difficult for them not to push people out of a table to stay on schedule.

Came here for Sunday brunch this past weekend. My bf’s friend lives in San Mateo and suggested three for brunch. I ordered the chicken with gravy and mash potatoes. The batter to chicken ratio was heavy on the batter side which was kind of a bummer. In general this spot is very loud and hard to have a conversation. We sat on the community high top tables. I won’t be back.

This place has been on my bookmark list for a while. Finally got a chance to try it out. The roasted pepper soup was delicious, even though the consistency of the soup can still be improved. But I like it with he complementary sweet potato chips. Pork taco was quite flavorful, just a bit too much hoisin sauce, so it was a bit greasy and way too salty. The pan seared cod was actually quite good, even though the fish was slightly under seasoned. For dessert we got a chocolate wafer with ice cream, it was a bit mediocre. And there were two fire trucks outside the restaurant for about 30 minutes. And fire alarm was on. I would give 3.5 stars for this restaurant

Nice décor, vibrant atmosphere, cold meals, challenged waiters. I’ve decided to give the Three restaurant a chance to change my mind about their dining experience, but sadly, it didn’t happen. My husband and I visited here for Sunday brunch. When we’ve arrived, they were all booked except first come first served bar & communal table. We’ve chose the bar. Here’s the summary: 1. Our waiter’s inability to understand simple things surprised us big time. My hubby asked for 2 eggs on the pizza, she verified two times, but nevertheless he got 4 eggs. Go figure. 2. Eggs Benedict were cold by the time i got them. Although, the meal was good and eggs were poached perfectly. 3. They’ve tried to overcharge us for nearly every item we’ve got. We got a bill that had indicated a long stack of pancakes instead of short one that we’ve received($ 9), double eggs on the pizza(~$ 4 or so), and salmon substitute for bacon on eggs Benedict($ 7!!!). It all summed up to ~$ 50 for brunch for two. Ouch! The restaurant manager never showed up for us, even though we requested him/her. Needless to say that this wasn’t my favorite place based on my previous experience and this opinion still stands.

No thanks. First off– like a rude prank in high school, somebody slipped reduced balsamic vinegrette onto our bread pudding dessert. It tasted foul and disgusting with the caramel that was drizzled along with it. Apparently a mistake from the kitchen which they did happily remake, only to provide us with one that had some white lint stuck to the top of the replacement bread pudding. It was long and white and if it was a hair, I would have outright walked up and left. But it was lint and my fiancé decided it was not a big deal so I reluctantly did not say anything as we were both hungry already from having waited for our other dish, the smoked salmon potato pancake eggs benedict. That dish itself was delicious and on par with what I recognize as decent good ‘ol American staple food for brunch. But the bread pudding was just way too disappointing for me to rate this place any higher for lack of cleanliness and lack of oversight in a kitchen that apparently mistakes balsamic vinegar for chocolate. Kind of ridiculous. The ambiance is gorgeous– the place is nice, the waiters were all good– just have not seen such a poor excuse of a dessert that was re-made and came out with link/hair/dust on top of it. You would think the second time around they would have paid more attention to it, I dare say if they used a cloth to wipe off the balsamic vinegar and just replate it with a re-drizzle that I would not be surprised at this establishment. All in all, I will not be back. Go to Johnston’s Saltbox for amazing food, CLEANANDCORRECT– and skip this poor excuse of a fancy place that does not QC of their food before leaving the kitchen. Thanks, but no thanks. Beautiful place but horrible food.

Came with a Friday for brunch on Monday. Ordered the Thai salad and crab cake Benedict to share. The salad was ok. Very generous portion. The crab cake was soooo good!!! The English muffin got some nice crunch to it and the crab cake was superb. The place is nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Will definitely come back soon to try their other stuff.

Smile at me and reassure me that the wait isn’t that long, check on me when I start to crane my neck in obvious search of my meal and refill empty coffee and water cups and we good. Then make some delicious chilaquiles and top it with savory cheesy sauce, but not so much as to render the chips soggy and wilted – Three figured this out because the chips were still crunchy and had a bite to them. Was impressed with Three but not so much with the price; as good as the chilaquiles were, I didn’t think they warranted the $ 16 price tag – I mean it was chips, sauce, bits of chicken and sour cream right? Also would liked to see chorizo as a meat option for this dish.

I had a reservation for 11:30 on a Sunday because in my past experience this place can get very crowded. We arrived at the restaurant and told the hostess about our reservation — it appears as though no table was actually reserved as we were not seated until 11:48. From here, everything continued to go down hill. We ordered promptly after being seated and did not have food on our tables until 12:40. We were never checked up on or reassured that the food would be coming. Not even once. At this point we were all getting grumpy as we had been waiting for a majority of our time since our 11:30AM reservation. The food arrived and was reliably good as usual. However, my salmon potato pancake benedict did not come out warm — it felt as though the potato pancake had been reheated and was sitting out a while before it arrived on our table. Makes me wonder if this had more to do with our waiter as he hardly ever checked in and we actually got help from the bus boys and other waiters throughout the meal. After scarfing down the food, we waited literally an additional 20 – 30 minutes waiting for the bill and boxes. We asked our initial waiter for both the bill and boxes, and after waiting quite some time, we finally got help from a nice busboy who offered to box up our leftovers(was not mentioned by our waiter) and a different lady helped pick up the check, which was sitting on the edge of our table for quite some time and not revisited by our waiter. This was particularly disappointing as there was a line out the door and we were completely ready to pay the bill and leave so others could be seated.

My friend and I originally came here because we were craving eggs Benedict. But we came at like 5:30pm and their breakfast lunch ends at 2.(Oops lol) We decided to stay here anyways and try it out since we were hungry. All I can say is everything was really good. I ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli and Cookies n’ Cream Baked Alaska. I would definitely get the ravioli again but I would probably get the baked Alaska and share it with someone. It’s a lot for one person. Will most likely come back here with my boyfriend. My only request is that there are either bigger pieces of ravioli or more little pieces because the plate almost makes it look like the ravioli is drowning and that there’s more sauce than ravioli. However, my friend’s dish looked amazing! There was also a complimentary order of sweet potato chips.(Those were really good to munch on!!) I would most definitely come and try their other dishes. The presentation of everything was really nice!(Especially the desserts :))

The food here is amazing. I ate here last Sunday for brunch with a big group of friends. We occupied the entire back where the kitchen was. We had mimosas, great service and the food tasted as good as it looked. I had the the crab cake Benedict and it was really good. I loved that it had a hint of lemon in it. My son ordered the burger. He didn’t really like it because it was so big and kind of dry. Don’t know what to say about that, but maybe it’ll be better next time. I enjoyed my food and so did everyone else. Most of the friends ordered the corned beef hash and they all enjoyed it. This is a great place to have brunch. Nice atmosphere and good service.

A good choice for brunch in San Mateo. Good interior design and service. The food part is a little bit toward the normal side, as least for the steak sandwich I ordered. So weird that this place has done so well in a city with excellent food. The environment and patrons are sort of odd. They had a ton of grammatical errors on their menu, which just sends a general message that they don’t care. That brings me to the food, which makes it seem like they actually don’t — it’s bland, basic, and boring. And, Overall, this place is less than mediocre.

My wife and I have been to Three twice for brunch. I ordered the veggie omelette both times, but the first time with egg whites and the 2nd time with pepper jack cheese. The first omelette tasted good, but I just wish it were a little bigger. The second omelette did not taste good and was actually kind of bad. I asked for pepper jack cheese as a substitute, but whatever cheese was in there did not taste like pepper jack. It was bad. My wife loves the eggs Benedict here. Because of that, I will give them an extra star. Overall grade: B/B–

We had a birthday lunch here and it was awesome! I made a reservation through OpenTable and requested a birthday dessert with a candle and Happy Birthday with the person’s name on the plate and they delivered. They even had a birthday menu, which made the birthday girl feel extra special. Monique was our server and she was attentive and efficient. The food was so yummy. The mushroom stogies were delicious and the french toast poppers were fluffy. The butternut squash ravioli was perfect and the salmon pizza was good. I would definitely come back and recommend for any occasion! Thank you Three!

Very surprised that this place only has 4 stars. This is exactly how New American food should be done — the menu manages to be sophisticated but fun, and the execution is excellent. We had brunch here and we loved our food — the fried chicken thing, crab cake benedict, chilaquiles, pancakes, all delish. Service was a little clumsy but he seemed to be trying and I’m not going to deduct a star for that especially in light of.. . AWESOMECOCKTAILS! Loved the different types of brunch cocktails. Three stars for Three! I thought I wrote a review for this before and was planning to come back downgrade my rating from 4 to 3. The first few times, the dishes were great. The brunch menu coupled with unlimited mimosas makes for a wonderful experience with friends. The waitress at the time was very expeditious with refilling them. Today: Breakfast pizza — it was a bit too«doughy» for me, but you’ll get bacon, runny eggs, a generic slather of tomato sauce, etc. Knife and fork were eventually required. Fried chicken w/mashed potatoes — THEREASONFORTHEDOWNGRADE — the chicken was moist, but the batter was alright. The gravy congealed way too fast that it couldn’t permeate the potatoes… and the potatoes… one bite and you can tell it was straight from some box, which highly disappointing. Understandably, they were swamped today, but boxed mashed potatoes… — — — — — — — — — — — — Previous visits: Sweet potato chips — these were great to munch on. Unfortunately, we only managed to get it our first time there. They seem to have discontinue this. Fried egg sandwich w/skirt steak — one of my favorites. A messy eat, but well-executed steak with yolk inundating the sandwich — can’t go wrong with that. Various sides — one time I simply just wanted a simple breakfast, which you can easily compose from all of their sides; this will probably end up cheaper than any entrée for the same, if not more, amount of food.

Came in at 5:30pm for a Monday dinner as soon as they opening. Although we didn’t have a reservation but we were seated immediately. By the end of our meal there was a wait so if you can make a reservation, I suggest it. The interior of the restaurant is comfortable but classy and this would make a great date spot. The service was also extremely kind and attentive from the moment we walked in. Every server and greeter was friendly and helpful which is always a plus. For our food we ordered the Humberto’s Inferno, the Braised Short Rib Bourguignon, and the Chili Rubbed Pulled Pork and Pumpkin Tacos. They also provided us with free sweet potato chips to start. The sweet potato chips were average. I definitely prefer a savorier chip and these ones were on the sweet side due to the sugar dusted on top. They were also really oily. Either way, I’m not going to argue with complimentary chips. For our actual appetizer we got the Humberto’s Inferno, and it was an absolute blast to order. I love watching flambés and the employee who did it for us(I’m guessing/hoping his name is Humberto) seemed to really enjoy his job which honestly made it a even more fun experience. He also seemed very happy when the table asked him what the item was so he got to make another one for them. There are approximately 6 squares of cheese served with a few pieces of plain baguette. Melted and crispy cheese is always delicious but it’s also not something that can’t be made in your average kitchen. The flambé is a good show but pan searing cheese is easily done at home. There is something a little bit special about the final product here but I’m not sure I would get it again unless I was trying to impress my guest. Nonetheless it was thrilling getting to see it at least once.(4⁄5) For my friend’s entrée she got the chili rubbed pulled pork and pumpkin tacos. She wasn’t too hungry so the portion was perfect for her. It comes with 3 tacos that are stuffed with meat. While the ingredients of the dish sounded good, we were both disappointed by the product. We agreed the ingredients came close to being cohesive but didn’t quite make it. The big issue was how dry the pork was and the lack of sauce. My friend thought a bit more pumpkin could’ve also helped bind it all together.(2.5÷5) For my entrée I got the Braised Short Rib Bourguignon with the Horseradish Cream Sauce. I really loved my dish. I do prefer some more kick from horseradish so the cream sauce was a bit mild for me, but as a whole dish, it comes together really well. The sauce itself lacks salt so the bourguinon goes really well with it and the wine really cuts through the heavy cream so well and I loved it. The only issue I had was the short rib being just slightly dry for me but they were very tender. The dish is also a good size and I was very full by the end.(4.5÷5) Overall, I loved my experience here and would be excited to come back as long as parking wasn’t too big of an issue.

Coming from San Francisco, it was refreshing to be able to make a reservation for brunch! No crazy lines and plenty of space. I already wanted to give this place 5 stars right out of the gate. Service was not very attentive though. Our server was quick to get our drink orders in and then disappeared for a good 15 minutes before coming back to get our food orders. The food came pretty quickly after we ordered, but the check didn’t get to our table for at least 20 minutes after we were done with our meal. I loved the appetizers we ordered but I thought the brunch food was just OK. What was really good: 1. Fried Calamari(although I think this is quite difficult to mess up) 2. The lamb kabobs with the green sauce 3. The pumpkin soup 4. The fried chicken and waffles. Loved the fried chicken and the candied bacon inside. What was just OK: 1. The crab cake eggs benedict — The crab cakes were not very inspiring. The potatoes were bland but came with over-salted onions and red peppers. A friend got the blue cheese mushroom sandwich and said it was really bad. I’m guessing she wasn’t a fan of blue cheese so she probably shouldn’t have ordered it.

Three is one of our go to dinner places in San Mateo. From the outside it looks like a cheap take-out place but it’s quite nice inside. Not romantic, quiet conversation over a glass of wine, but a lively night out with friends. There are a few standouts on the menu that are always good — the seafood risotto and the fried chicken — but other things can be hit and miss. I recently had a pasta dish with shrimp and a light sauce. That’s how it was described, anyway. What a got was a heavy mushroomy al dente spaghetti with shrimp. If I’m getting al dente pasta, I want a brighter sauce, not a heavy mushroom and cream, which also doesn’t go with shrimp at all. I regretted not getting the chicken, my usual dish. Still, the service is always top notch. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass, fun seasonal specialty cocktails and homemade sweet potato chips with enough sugar to make them almost a pre-dinner dessert. The small/large portion can be confusing. In general, we go with small portions if we’re also getting salads or an appetizer. I’m not sure I’ve ever had the large portion but might consider it if I was really hungry and not ordering anything else. Oh, they also have a few sidewalk tables for warm weather.

I came here for my best friend birthday lunch. I actually heard many great things about this place. We came here just in time for brunch and made reservations. It was pretty packed in there so good thing we rvsp. We order the small smoked salmon pizza and lamb kebobs as appetizers. They were SO good. I loved the lamb kebobs, their sauce was a really great combination. The pizza was pretty good, I expected better, but not bad. I also had their lamb burger, it was pretty good and juicy. Wish I ordered something else cause honestly it tasted kind of like the kebobs haha. I would definitely come here again, I want to try they tater tots, but apparently they are seasonal!

Three Restaurant & Bar was an amazing find. So I’ve had this place bookmarked for a good amount of time and so when i finally got to go here, I was beyond excited. The menu is only one full page but the options are endless!!! I changed my mind so many times, I need to come back. Lol Okay so I finally decide on the Oregon Cod which was accompany by veggies and mushroom risotto. The cod was perfectly cooked but i think the risotto could have used a minute or two. But taking in a whole bite, everything was delicious. We also had apps and my highest recommendation on the app is the mushroom stogies. OMG it was amazing. Picture a champones empanada, shaped in an egg roll, accompanied by this spicy tangy sauce. One of the must thing to get when you’re here. AND the lady helping us recommended to add an extra because there was four in our group, which was super helpful and we def appreciated it! They also provide complimentary sweet potato chips and it’s dusted with a little bit of sugar, and the cook and seasoning is delicious. I’m amazed that they are complimentary! So now I am eager to come back to try their brunch items, the pictures in this Unilocal is making me hungry.

This is my first time dining in San Mateo, and it was a pretty good experience. Parking isn’t as bad as SF, and the area was so cozy :) Three has a pretty good selection of craft beers– one thing that brought me here was the Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA– one of the best IPAs I’ve had. I haven’t had it since my trip to Portland(where Deschutes Brewery is), so having this on tap definitely brings back the feels from my Portland trip. My boyfriend got the Lamburger, which was pretty good. Especially with the garlic fries that were served along with it. I got the Pan Roasted Oregon cod, which sat on a bed of Quinoa(.I believe it was Quinoa). Overall– great service. We put in our orders and I think our food came out between 7 – 10 mins.

When I heard that Astaria was closing down and revamping their concept and menu to become Three Restaurant, I was really bummed out because I had my birthday dinner there and I really enjoyed their food( ). So with Three, I really didn’t know what to expect, though since it’s run by the same folks from Astaria, I would assume that it’d be just as good. I went to Three for happy hour with a couple of Unilocaler buddies and we had a good sampling of their bar bites menu. With about 10 – 12 items on the menu priced from $ 3 – 8 each, you can have a pretty good dinner here on the cheap, especially if you’re sharing with a few buddies. Here’s what we ordered: Cheesy Garlic Foccacia — Margherita Pizza — THREE’s Tater Todds — Potato and Cheese Tots with Chili-Garlic Ketchup — Prawn Skewer with Garlic Dipping Sauce — Coastal Calamari with Lemon Caper Aioli – HOT Wings with Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce – I think my favorites from the spread were the Tater Todds, the Prawn Skewer, and the Pizza, but pretty much everything was good for bar food. In terms of service, the bartender we had was really cool and helpful, So, overall it was a solid happy hour. For now I can’t really give a solid rating since I haven’t tried out their signature dishes for brunch and dinner which do look very promising from the pics on Unilocal.Until I get a full dining experience from them, I’ll give them 3 stars for now because while the bar food was good, they didn’t have much of a ‘WOW’ factor.
