What a great place to have Yummy Sushi and Sapporo Beer, The chef greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome, he is also quite funny. Sushi presentation is beautiful and fresh quality you can taste, This place has around 8 tables and very clean, We all enjoyed the food and even got to watch the Warriors game on their TV, Thanks Chef,!!

Solid, no frills neighborhood sushi spot. The chef is super generous and fish was fresh and well cut. Had the seared albacore and salmon sashimi, the monster roll and the hamachi roll with ginger… all delicious even for take out.

I go to Burlingame a lot and I see this place all the time until I decided to stop by and order something to eat. I’m not a sushi fan at all, I had only ate once in my life and I didn’t like it. But this place definitely made me change the way I thought about sushi. I order rainbow sushi, dragon sushi and California rolls omg everything was delicious!!! At the end they give you a few pieces of Apple, peanut butter and chocolate it tastes so good! Their green tea ice cream was super super delicious as well… I’ll definitely stop by this place more often!

Good low key place. Good size portions. Not busy so sometimes your in and out fast. The chef is a nice guy. The place could use better ventilation but not a crazy big deal. I still go at least 3 or 4 times a month.

Yamo Yamo is pretty close to where I live so my family and I go there fairy frequently for sushi. The place is always empty, but I’m not sure why. The owner is extremely friendly and is usually there by himself. Even so, our food comes out as quickly as he can get it to us. The sushi rolls are on the pricier side, but the portion sizes are huge and the fish always tastes fresh. I like the cooked rolls and they are always tasty. My husband likes the raw stuff(which he says is good) and is a fan of the Rainbow Roll. We get my daughter the chicken teriyaki dinner w/rice and it’s always good. They always bring her out their complimentary dessert of apple, peanut butter and chocolate. Yum! Yamo Yamo is a nice option if you don’t want to hit the other pricey, overly busy sushi restaurants on the Burlingame side of Peninsula Ave.

Small family owned business that has pros and cons. Cons are service can be slow when busy since its a husband wife team only, and eating in you can often smell like tempura when leaving. Pros are the ingredients are fresh, the portions are huge for the price you pay, and the owner is super friendly. This place, while maybe not the«best», is definitely a go to spot when you want a lot of food for your money, and you get to support a local family business.

Horrible. Empty house on a Friday night. Ordered some miso soup and it was gross. Not even going to bother ordering fish here.

Great dinner! The owners were very nice. The food was great and fresh. After our meal they brought out their complementary dessert. Apple with peanut butter and chocolate. Yummy! We will defiantly be back!

I am currently having lunch here, the food is great and the owner is really friendly and knows how to have a conversation. It has a home cooked meal vibe as it is not really crammed or on a busy street. I would recommend! Best appetizer is the fried shrimp tempura.

First time here and it was great. Ordered the shrimp tempura roll and California roll with hot tea for lunch. I was the only person at 12:30pm on a Monday but that’s ok. Less people = less hectic. I was a little worried reading the reviews but ultimately impressed. Food was out in under 10min and a nice portion size. The décor could be a little improved, but the food was delicious. 4 stars is for my experience.

I just had lunch here for the first time. The rolls were delicious & huge. The place was empty but the owner was extremely inviting and made us feel very welcome. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but inside was clean and comfortable. City roll — CA roll with avocado and eel, really high quality & bigger than I’ve usually seen. Caterpillar roll — amazing, perfectly crisped tempura shrimp gave this traditional caterpillar roll a tasty warm upgrade with just a little crunch. California roll — this was for my 7 year old daughter but she ended up eating the other two because they were so delectable. This is my new favorite place for affordable sushi in mid-peninsula. I’ll be back soon!

I think this place is fine for to-go orders. There’s only one gentleman who hosts and manages the sushi bar. It takes at least 15 minutes to get an order out the door. The place needs more ventilation, both times walking through the door, I feel that charcoal particles are clogging my lungs!

Let’s start with the good things. The man who runs the place is extremely kind and friendly. Parking is relatively easy. But the service was slow, as the man was operating the restaurant alone. I only ordered four rolls, two of which were just avocado, and we were there over an hour and a half waiting for our food to be prepared. He brought each item out very slowly and I was there with two hungry young children. They weren’t busy, but he was alone and couldn’t serve as host and chef and busboy and waiter effectively. As for the food … I actually had to spit the first piece of one of the rolls I ordered into a napkin and return it – a first for me at a sushi restaurant. Both rolls were overstuffed with crab salad. I just didn’t enjoy it. And he didn’t refill our drinks until he was bringing the check. Also the entire restaurant was very dirty. The bathroom was scary. And the man brought me a dirty spoon when I asked for one, claiming it was the same spoon I had used earlier. Um … no. Even if it was. It is a restaurant, I expect clean cutlery. My entire family left hungry. I wouldn’t come here again. I hate leaving a bad review because the man was so so nice, but … it is what it is.

Pretty good sushi for a decent price. We got take-out from here tonight and we had: The Dragon Roll — perfect A Rock’N’Roll — delicious Hamachi & Avocado Roll — good tuna Salmon & Avocado Roll — decent salmon The unagi really was delicious, perfectly cooked and very flavorful. We got all four rolls for $ 35.00 not bad. Also what other Unilocalers have said is true, the owner is a very nice and friendly man and it wasn’t busy in there at all, there was only one table eating when I got there and one coming in when I left. A great place to have a quiet romantic dinner! This is the type of sushi place you go to when you are craving sushi but don’t want to pay a million bucks, be surrounded by 1 million people, be looking forever for a parking space, and don’t care about eating super fancy gourmet rolls. I will get take out here again for sure! The only thing that made me sad is that they don’t have Ikura.

This place is really great place for lunch! I walked in at noon and no one was there. I saw it while getting gas across the street. It will look like its closed but its not! Just walk in! The man seemed eager to see me cuz no one else was there. I ordered the cozy bacon cuz thats what i like bacon haha. So yummy! In addition, their lunch menu is big and cheap!

in a nutshell: it’s alright. We ordered to go and got spicy tuna, California roll, and dragon roll. The sushi rice was rock hard and the spicy tuna tasted off unless you dipped it in soy sauce and wasn’t spicy at all(and I can’t handle spicy). I like that the rolls are pretty big, but they use so much fake crab and mayonnaise. The dragon roll was the best of the 3, and for 3 rolls(2 being basic), the total came out to be $ 24. Not bad but not a steal either. The owners are nice

We live two blocks from Yamo Yamo and we get«take out» here quite often. Sushi NEVER disappoints. I highly recommend the Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll. So delicious. Fish is fresh, rice is perfect«sushi rice», portions are great! I’m always surprised they don’t have a full house, but I’m guessing a lot of their business is «take out» because they are always busy making food when I go to pick up my order! –1 star because of the service when you actually sit down and eat. Like I said, a lot of their business must be take-out because they are so busy! If you dine-in, be prepared for a tid-bit of a wait. Otherwise… NICEST owners!
