The store is very dim. As I entered the store, I asked the clerk(a lady) if they sold Ritz crackers, which i was told«No!» rather emphatically, before fully getting the question out. After I asked about a 2nd item, I was yelled at and told to «Buy or Leave», by a man sitting in the corner. He told me that they closed at 9:30 pm(the current time was 9:39), when clearly the door said 10:00 pm. I then asked why they were rushing me out of their store, and the first clerk continued to yell and said«You Harass us, I call police. Buy or Leave». Out of frustration and anger, I decided to leave. Please do not support this store. The customer service is appalling. I left Brookside U Save, and went to Bonfare Market which is not far from this location. The customer service at Bonfare was excellent and the store was well lit. Bonfare’s address is: 132123rd St #8, San Pablo, CA94806. Please go to Bonfare if you do not want to be yelled at and treated disrespectfully. Obviously, no one will come on Unilocal before shopping at a convenience store, but I felt compelled to write about this experience. More likely, someone will experience something similar and then write a post like this. To that person, I hope you find solace from my posting: you are not the only one that was unfairly treated. We stand together.

Brookside U Save Liquor is cavernous, full of half empty shelves of groceries or not. wines, mainstream beers, malts, few microbrews mostly unpriced or priced slightly above average buys: tisdale merlot wine(2.99) $ 1 off. –taste barely better than $ 2 buck chuck. takeouts: –pricey goods here. overhead sale of 2 chewable tablets of asprin for $ 1. –nice coup operates here. why compete against grocery outlet?

Located next to Grocery Outlet, the one reason to visit this store is if looking for U. K, African & Caribbean groceries. Half the store has Afri Mart Other than that it carries inexpensive beer and liquor and basic groceries with some off brands. For regular groceries, go next door to Grocery Outlet.
