I retained James Vandersloot as my workers comp attorney years ago. He was my attorney against East Bay Regional Park District where I was employed as a firefighter and gardener. A compromise and release was eventually signed, with stipulations for me being reimbursed for out of pocket mileage costs and prescriptions. Mr. Vandersloot received his portion of the settlement, but his job was not complete yet. He promised, and is legally obligated to help me obtain the money I put out because of my injuries. That was over five years ago. Mr. Vandersloot illegally destroyed my file prematurely, and before my case was completed. He has refused to take my phone calls, won’t answer my letters or the letters that the Park District sends to him still regarding my requests for reimbursement and pleas for support and help. James Vandesloot is the most incompetent, unreliable lawyer I have ever come in contact with (I came from a family, where my step dad was a criminal attorney). Do not hire Vandersloot or retain his firm, Larson, Vandersloot and Rivers. They are all incompetent, greedy crooks.
