Have been coming to the Landing since I was a kid. And, as an adult, I still love the friendly staff, the great service and the great food. The food was richer when I was younger, and the menu has changed to reflect the times with one of my favorites Seared Ahi Tuna. The lobster bisque, and the bread are also great indulges. This place is great and dining close to the windows is the best, the ocean view and boats in the marina are peaceful and entertaining.

I was there recently to celebrate a birthday with friends. It started off fine, but after our drinks, our appetizers took a long time and the ahi tuna had passed it’s date. It smelled and tasted awful. Our server, kelly, was rude when we tried to explain that the tuna simply wasn’t good. The clams tasted rubbery, and we got her to tell us that they were frozen clams. We had already ordered dinner, so we waited to see how it turned out. Half the food was actually good, but two dishes were not. We ordered a prawn special that turned out not to be prawns at all. They were just the normal shrimp, they were the exact same size as the shrimp from the shrimp scampi. The swordfish my friend ordered was grossly overcooked. We asked to see a manager, and Paula came to talk to us. We explained to her that the tuna was bad, but she asked for the evidence when we already sent 90% of the order back. She was extremely rude when talking with us. When we showed her that the prawns and shrimp were identical, she refused to acknowledge it. It was so terrible that we paid the bill and left half the food. Paula was unacceptable as a manager. Selling shrimp and calling them prawns… deceptive!

Slow service. When we tried to give them a hint(by saying we haven’t gotten breadsticks yet), still no sense of urgency. Not full. Maybe half or slightly less. Think it took at least half an hour before she came to take our order Arrived at 7 Sat about 7:15(they needed to sent for 10, made sense) Got wagered quickly 7:45 — guess we should ask for breadsticks Dinner Salads and soup arrived about 8:10 Appetizer cam after(not before) 8:20 Somewhere the kids got served their dinner Dinner arrived just before 9 — to mad to eat According to manager, they were busy. I would say, poorly managed or at the least, understaffed. Caesar salad, ok. Crab cake appetizer — like a frozen one from the grocery store. But in the past, I’ve had an thought they were better.

AMAZING. Super fast service also Mario the bartender is wonderful! Happy hour is super good that fish taco was probably the best I’ve ever had!!! Also can’t beat that view! Only suggestion is maybe playing some music? It’s pretty quiet but otherwise fantastic!

Will never go there gain, we were there this past Sunday June 5th, Approx 4:00pm until Paula the Mgr that day called the Sheriffs to have us leave the bar. There was 15 – 20 women that got together for drinks and Appetizers, mind you, hundreds of dollars we spent and Paula had the Nerve to call sheriffs saying we were too load. We all are 50 to 60 years Old, haven’t seen these ladies in years, it was the most embarrassing Moment we all experience. All she had to do is let us know if we were To load. She should be ashamed of herself!!! She lost a lot of Customers!

Delicious Seafood! We were in town for one night, pre-cruise and asked locals’ for a great fresh seafood restaurant recommendation and they all said 22. It didn’t disappoint. Their lobster bisque is THE best we’ve ever had and we’re big seafood eaters. Had their fresh stuffed salmon — with crab and brea and etc. — which was phenomenal. Friendly and attentive staff. And ask for a seat by the window — as you’re right in the marina — you’ll see the fishing excursions come in followed by the playful sea lions. Next time we’re anywhere near San Pedro — we’ll definitely detour to go there for dinner again.

Service was slow even for an empty restaurant. For the price they were charging I expected some good food. I was disappointed when I ordered the scampi but it came with no pasta and a small amount of meat. After paying for two dinners(my wife’s under seasoned fish) and my over priced small scampi(with no pasta) we will not be going back. They take advantage of the fact that there isn’t much around and the cruise ships dock there witch brings in a lot of one time diners. Pleas take the time to look around so you don’t spend your money on this restaurant, there are better places with a lot better tasting food and service that don’t cost even close to what they are charging. Now I know why the place was so empty.

Love love love this place. Great view and consistently good seafood. Try the steamed mussels and clams with breadsticks. Salmon salad is solid.

Visited San Pedro and decided to try Sunday brunch at 22nd street landing. It was a huge disappointment for me. California Omelette with potatoes and a small bowl of fruit left me unfulfilled especially for the price. However, my wife loved the seafood bouillabaisse! Four stars The location and view is great.

Ordered a medium filet minion, received a well done steak. At a table of 10, restaurant policy to not split checks in tops greater than 8. Small portions. Nice atmosphere.

We have been coming to 22nd St Landing for a long time and love the seafood. Today, which is a holiday, I called in to do take-out as I knew they would be busy. I was told on holidays they do not do take-outs. As we were just ordering simple salads and I was going to run in and pick it up and leave, I did not understand? we were not taking up any space and the time it took to make the salads was minimal, plus this was not stated on their Unilocal list of do’s and don’ts. I asked to speak to the manager, Paula, who also said it was their policy and then went on to say they were very busy, their customer were having to wait 75min. or longer, at which point I said I would come whenever it was best for the restaurant. Paula said it is still not their policy and they are also not affiliated with Unilocal. Now, I do understand when a restaurant is busy even one extra meal can make a difference, but when Paula, as a manager started making excuses I felt it was wrong. She could have said we were understaffed, but to say we are not affiliated with Unilocal, I would suggest you at least start reading what is on their as many people do and right now it does not state anywhere that you do not do take-out on holidays. I do hope you are successful tonight since the manager and staff were stressed out.

Great view, good food, classic old school seafood, decent prices. I really enjoyed my meal at 22nd. It is a classic type place and it should be since it’s been there forever almost. The food came quick and we had a big party. Service was quick and polite and the view is specatular. You are right on the docks with boats and water for miles. great for a brunch or a romantic dinner with fairly reasonable prices considering it is seafood. I am from Maryland, a seafood capital, and this place was very good.

22nd street landing dinner tonight. The service was horrendous, 2 hours for dinner — no desert… No cocktails. they finally came to the table and told us someone thought we had already eaten(everyone around be us had). Finally food arrived after waiting 1 hours — 2 salads, 1 pasta and 1 salmon dinner. Everyone in our area was finishing dinner and no big group dining so we didn’t collide with prime time. I ordered a spinach salad without salmon. When the check arrived they charged for salmon and would not deviate the price due to the«chef» and no substitutions(server could have mentioned that…) After lengthy feedback on the service the server and THEN with the manager, they finally took the 17.95 salad off our bill. I hope they can survive on tourists since I and my local peeps are not returning. There are lots of great Restuarants in San Pedro. Rafaello has amazing Italian food and great service but call for a reservation as they can get busy. And many other spots too.

We visited for the first time for lunch on Saturday, 1÷9÷15 at 2:00 pm. The food(fish tacos for me and salmon salad for my wife) was good. The soup, potato leek and clam chowder, was very good. The waitress was excellent. The ambience was wonderful. We will go again.

First time here in years! Can’t beat the view from the deck which overlooks the marina. Had bloody Mary’s(which were pretty good) and soups. Both the lobster bisque and Manhattan clam chowder were very good! I recall this restaurant being hit and miss in the past, I’ll have to come back and try it again for dinner!

Commentary on the behalf of my wife; today, December 12, 2015 at approximately 1:30PM my wife attended an annual Christmas ornament party involving 14 guests. Excellent setting, great atmosphere and diligent waiters and staff, HOWEVER when it came to order a very simple drink; a lemon drop martini the female bar tender fell short of making one that was proper … as witnessed ‘tasted’ by other guests seated near my wife. As with any ordered item she informed her waiter, explained her concern and requested a fresh lemon drop martini … much to her surprise the same glass and drink returned with a wedge of lemon sitting in the glass. As guests looked on at the table of 14 it was obvious that the bar tender took the pushed back drink personally and simply responded unprofessionally with an ‘F’ you drink. With no comment cards available at the hostess desk, we were forced to go public to share a very negative experience … shame on the management at the restaurant if they know there is a problem.

My family and I came here for Sunday Brunch, of which I can say, that the brunch menu looked and sounded delicious. I didn’t partake in it. I was in the mood for lunch by the time 2 pm rolled around. When we walked in at 1:30, we were told we would have a wait of about 45 minutes, then were seated within about 20. Plus one star for making things happen. The wait staff and hosts were very accommodating, but that’s kind of where the ‘great’ stuff stopped. We ordered calamari for the table that was nothing special, but hey, it was food and we were starving at that point. Bread was also included with our lunch, that was the quality of an Olive Garden breadstick, but without the delicious garlic-salty seasoning that it’s topped with. Instead just shredded cheese, barely melted on that barely baked dough. Disappointing, but free. For my entrée, I ordered the Cioppino and I can honestly say a day later that I can’t remember how it tasted because it was so boring. A couple details I do remember is that the scallops were extremely rubbery, the fish was overcooked, and I got some grains of sand in the clams. I would hope the seemingly expensive ingredients for cioppino would be treated with care, but alas, they weren’t. Bummer for my wallet(18 dollar fish stew) and my mouth. Side Note: It was a balmy 81 degrees in the place, I know the exact number because we were sitting next to the thermostat.

A friend suggested meeting here for dinner and drinks… ok, it was a blind date :) Anyway, I did a quick check on the reviews and the restaurant’s website and felt a bit hesitant based on the many sub par reviews given. But, because I loved the setting by the water I felt I definitely had to give this place a shot. Coming from Irvine, it was quite a drive with lots of exits and turns to get here, but with GPS will travel! I finally found my way :) What I really enjoyed about the drive is the awesome views once you drive over the bridges… wow. Anyway, back to the restaurant. Situated on the water with pretty nice views of the thousands of yachts… wow,…nice :) There seemed to be plenty of parking and they all seem to be reserved for the restaurant with a 2hr time limit marked on each space. However, when I got to the top of the stairs where the restaurant was(there’s also a lift available), I asked the hostess if they were serious about the 2hr limit, and she said no… good :) The place was less than half filled this Sunday evening which kind of surprised me. It’s a pretty big, open and spacious restaurant with a very long time established landmark establishment kind of feel to the interior. The one thing I felt uncomfortable about was that the kitchen is open concept and the smokey smell of cooking was filling the air. I wanted to sit outside on the patio where it’d be cooler, but my date preferred to sit inside at a booth, so that’s what we did. The menu seemed to have some a really good selection of dishes to choose from, which made it hard for us to decide what to order. We agreed that we didn’t want to fill up too much and were tossing between ordering a few appetizers to go with a nice glass of wine, or a full seafood entrée, to share. Eeeeerm, we finally decided to share the roast chicken special of the evening… imagine that, ordering chicken in a seafood restaurant… yikes :S Well, since I’d read so much about the lobster bisque, we went ahead and ordered a cup each. Ok, the lobster bisque was alright… nothing to go wow about. It tasted a bit salty to me and was very thick. The roast chicken, which came with sauteed spinach and mash potatoes was actually quite good. The chicken was cooked very well and was tender and juicy. And thank goodness we share an order because I was pretty filled after my half. Service was friendly, but a bit slow in attending to us between taking our drink order and serving them, and then coming back later to take our food order. For these kind of prices I expected much better quality. Hmmm…ok, I’ve tried this place once, but I don’t think I’ll drive this far to come back again as there are other similar and much better seafood places closer to where I live. I just gave the 3 stars for being on the water and having those nice views.

I recently attended a retirement party for a dear colleague at 22nd St. Landing, and I must say, I left impressed. My expectations, admittedly, were not high. I was expecting an older crowd, boring atmosphere and bland, overpriced food. However as I took my seat in the center dining area overlooking the pier, took a sip of my merlot and inhaled the aroma of butter, cream and ocean that accompanies any decent seafood restaurant, my dread turned to excitement and I couldn’t wait to feast. Our party indulged in a buffet dinner that included garden salad, chicken marsala, potato encrusted salmon, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes and garlic fettuccini. Everything was well-seasoned and I dare say, I’ve not had better chicken marsala in my life. The mashed potatoes were perfectly buttery and creamy, but was still chunky and firm, giving it great texture. The fettuccini was potent and decadent, but was the perfect accompaniment to the chicken and fish. I enjoyed the crispy texture of the potato encrusted salmon, but it was best eaten fresh, because the potato crust quickly loses crunch after sitting out. We were a large party, about twenty, and service was good. They have a large parking lot with abundant and free self-park. If ever in the area, I would definitely come back to try the lobster bisque.
