Nice friendly place where I always seem to run into someone I know. Just the other day a friend and I walk in to play pool and pool alone, we didn’t want to drink because I had to work in a couple hours. Despite only using the pool table and not purchasing drinks the bartender was still very nice and patient. Even made sure the lights over the table were on for us. True hospitality on that level seems unheard of nowadays. You’ll find it here though.

It’s The Best hole in wall around. All ages 21 – 69, and all walks of life get together here for great live music, lovable spirits, excellent and friendly staff… My fave lil spot in town!

My go to neighborhood bar in Pedro when I was living in the area. Classic dive bar with live music on the weekends, and very friendly staff/owner.

So it would appear that you either love this bar(not sure why) or you hate this bar. Needless to say this is a dive bar, it is just a little too divey for me. They were very busy when I was there, but when they charge my card too many times and the only way they offered to fix it is with me coming in during day time on a Monday or Tuesday instead of just handling it on the phone, its just unacceptable. Just like everyone else, I work. So I cannot drive across town to sort things out with the manager in the middle of a work day.

First and foremost — this is a BAR, not some hipster doofus hangout filled with a bunch of pretenders that opens at 6 or 7 at night. To the contrary, this is a bar for folks who take their drinking seriously and who appreciate the choices, prices and staff. And as I discovered the last time I went there(another afternoon properly wasted), it has a great jukebox — at least for those of us who love classic country of the 40s, 50s and 60s. So as a friend of mine and I were beginning to catch up there recently, a lovely lady at the bar, having ferreted out my musical tastes, began playing Ernest Tubb… and she and I sang about waltzing across Texas. And that was followed by some George Jones(R.I.P. Possum), then some Hank Sr., some Buck, and so on. Now I’m sure that jukebox has more modern songs… and live music and stuff at night(I’ve only been there in the afternoons). But, and trust me on this, spending an afternoon listening to and singing along with great country in a dark bar while visiting with a good friend and drinking shots of Booker’s with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale backs(I was anyway)…well, that my friends, is what I’m talkin’ ’bout! Rev. B P. S. Hope you like the pic below — took it between rounds.

Quite possibly the best bar in Peedro. I’ve been coming here since 2005. The place has changed a little over the years … but it’s just CONSISTENTLYGOOD. This is a dive bar for Sailors, Longshoremen, Bikers, Politicians and Locals. The owners and bartenders are terrific! They support the unions and local community. The place is like«Cheers» … where everybody knows your name! When I’ve had a rough day, this is where I want to kick back with a cold beer. Friendliest bar in the South Bay! Awesome atmosphere! Cheers!

Let’s see where do i start. Came in with a group. Been here 15mins now. Brought food in with us. But no drinks. Had i known no one would come to the table and take our orders. Id brought my own drinks with me. The band started at 9.00 and 9:40 they are taking their 1st break. Guessing they aren’t being paid much. I’ll update this when i get home with the overall experience.

Oh My Godmother’s… Yet another establishment that seems to live solely for the purpose to rip my fat a$$ed, middle aged, kidney, liver and bladder straight from the depths of my inner sanctum. Classic ‘Pedro dive bar. Been here a few times, this most recent visit with the«future son-in-law» on a day where neither of us had nothing better to do because all the ladies were away at my baby girl’s bridal shower. NICE!!! The place has been rearranged somewhat from my last visit, with the pool table now in the middle,(as opposed to on the right of the 7th street entrance). Seems to be a tad more spacious now but maybe that was the beer goggles I was peering through after arriving here from an earlier stop at the BrewCo around the block… Friendly bartender this time,(as usual), who when I was empty, didn’t even ask if I was all in for another Stella… Just took it upon himself. Maybe I had the look of a guy that really needed a drink,(or two, or three…). What a guy!!! Music on the weekend evenings, the place can get a bit festive and quite busy during those times. So remember, patience is a virtue. Especially when waiting at the bar.

I love this place but I think they would make more money if they just had a way to watch the dodger game. Ended up going to the brew co to watch the game. And I think everyone else in town went there also even though I don’t like their staff or beer

Went there with friends today for the Dodger game and they did NOT show it so we ended up around the block to spend a few hundred dollars Good luck God mothers. We will be back when you show the game! But right now you have no game. The Bar was empty

Live music, A plus. Dancing to the music, A plus. Happy people, my kind of people. The bartender gets your order pretty fast, I love it. There are also tables for parties of 4 or more but you have to get there early to get those tables. Other than that it’s cool.

Best to stay away from this place; Unless you’re packing. Being new to San Pedro’s downtown, I walked in on a weekday afternoon to check it out — immediately the bartenders two-man knucklehead welcoming committee wanted to start a fight. Seriously. Guess they don’t take too kindly to strangers.. . Now Good Fellows around the corner on 6th St. is a much safer bet. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in and Dave the bartender is great. AND with $ 3.75 imported draft, how can you go wrong?

Godmothers saloon is one of the last of the old timey San Pedro bars with live music, and you might share the bar with a 60 year old biker, sailor, or low rider named«Popeye» that will probably call you outside and punch you out after a few«liquid spinaches». Taste of the town.

This bar knows how to treat its customers, can make just about any drink you ask for plus… Plus their ability to be flexible is implacable… Can forget the pool table!

Live music on weekends, dive bar environment. Nonetheless, definitely a fun place to enjoy with your friends.
