I got scammed big time by this store. Paid them $ 5.00 to get a number to use to make long distance calls to Mexico. I was told I could use the number for a month for unlimited calling to Mexico. Then I get a bill from Verizon of $ 600.00 for the calls I made for that time frame. I made 3 attempts to talk to the owner, Fernando Quezado, and each time he said he would meet with me and have a resolution; and each time he did not show up. This store is not respectable and dishonest. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs and my attorney for a resolution to how this store robbed me.

This place has rats its a no go for me. Id rather shop at the Original Azteca Market in the harbor center so much more to choose from and the meat is out of this world.

This place was great. Awesome selection of Latin food. But more than that, it was the outstanding service. My wife bought a can of soda but it was a bit dirty, we asked for a napkin. Not only did the cashier give her a napkin but he went and found a straw for her. It’s something that is not in his job description but he went over and beyond. We will definitely keep buying from here next time we are in the area!!! :)

I decided to visit a blast from the past as far as shopping centers. I went to Azteca market 2 located in the Harbor Shopping area. Every store I ever knew is completely gone. this market is located in the far back where you had to find the diamond in the rough. They had exactly what I was looking for and the meat counter is a definite must. Fast and friendly service, too, and a lot of specialty items.

One day after grabbing some lunch at Sol Food, I decided to check out this small little market around the corner. I’m not gonna lie. What drew me in was the pan dulce! Its so inexpensive and fresh that you can’t get a better deal elsewhere. I haven’t browsed the entire store yet but will do this next time I’m in the area. For $ 0.83 I got two pan dulces which ain’t bad! The staff is very friendly too. I guess I still look relatively latino since they always greet me in Spanish before I give away what a gringo I am as I reply in English!

I like this place a lot. It has everything my New Mexican heart can desire in the way of comida, and also stocks knick knacks like veladoras(I found a Malverde candle here –AWESOME). I personally recommend the carne asada from the deli.

Great place to get all the things needed for authentic Mexican or Central American dishes. They have all the required cuts of meats, all the things needed for side dishes, all kinds of tortillas and tostadas, jamaica & tamarind for your aguas frescas. If you don’t speak any Spanish, have no fear, all the staff are always friendly and the butchers are always willing to help. However, I do agree with the other post, the produce is sub-par.

Nice little market for many meats, poultry and canned goods. And, the prices are good too. Dropped a star because most of the produce is marginal in quality.

Here’s a place to buy authentic ingredients for Central American cuisine. Crave a big bowl of menudo? No problem: they’ve got cow feet and tripe. Making _real_tamales? They’ve got tubs of lard cheap. Blending your own mole? They’ve got the right chiles at cheap prices, not at the ridiculous prices you see at Whole Paycheque… I mean Foods. Want just the right Mexican chocolate? Check.
