Blue Turtle Painting and Waterproofing

Wow, I’m so happy we hired Blue Turtle Painting! Paul and his team were top notch every step of the way. We’re moving into our new place and wanted our garage painted. What an incredible difference it made to have it painted. Paul matched the paint to the carpet we were installing. He did so many things, removing all the nails and brackets before painting. He picked up the paint needed, including a high gloss version for the washer/​dryer area. Such beautiful clean lines everywhere. What a difference. Last year we undertook a painting project at the 3-​story unit of buildings that we own. We had several HOA meetings and decided to have the exterior trim of the building painted. The existing paint was dull and old looking, so we wanted to spruce it up a bit. My condo co-​owner had very specific colors that would be required. This is building is a Victorian structure in San Francisco and needed very urgent wood rot remediation (we knew of some instances that would need to be corrected, but Paul made us well versed at what we were seeing after we opened up some of the trim — I am so glad we got this fixed after a year of rains!!). This was an above average complexity of paint job.
Paul was an expert at working with a very demanding project director (my co-​owner next door). Paul was responsive in changing his approach as our needs changed. His ideas on color were very stylish and unique. His views complimented ours and the final project was genius. Over the course of a few weeks, we made several changes and the product was amazing! The crew worked diligently and were very organized. They applied a couple coats of primer that has made the building last and look very fresh for the year after we completed the paint job. They did not leave messes anywhere and no paint was spilled or sloppily applied. These guys were friendly and made it easy to come and go while they were working. They cleaned up after themselves every day and accommodated several requests of the tenants in the building. I was working in Omaha and San Ramon at the time and never once did I feel out of control. This is a testament to Paul because this was a project I had been dreading. Needless to say, this bunch was so easy to work with, always on time and we had no problems working with each other. I highly recommend these guys for the job! The team was great. The product was the talk of the area!!! And we are 100% satisfied. Very good value for money. Hire them, if you can get them!

P. S. I almost forgot. On top of all this activity of a 5 color exterior trim and wood rot job, they also painted an interior bedroom! The paint job inside was better than the occupants of the house deserved. However, the detail was meticulous and well worth the cost. I was amazed at how good this job was when I saw it. I will use Paul again!

Blue Turtle Painting worked on our seven story building in San Francisco. They were responsible, reliable, dependable and met a ll the obligations provided in their contract. Added to that, approximately four and one half years later, when there was some minor paint pealing on a balcony, Paul Benson came to the sight and rectified the problem. All workers were polite, respectful, conscientious and good at their job. I have nothing but good things to say about Paul Benson and Blue Turtle Painting, and would definitely use him again in future.

Paul came to our house and installed a welded flat roof. Within a few months we had a leak and it was frustrating that Pauls response was ‘well, you must have a plumbing leak” this forced us to do lots of extra work to clear, find and explore to finally prove that the leak was related to his roof work.
When he finally did come up and we showed him the problem, to his credit, he did fix the issue. However, he absolutely refused to cover any damages to our house that resulted from his link. We’ve tried multiple emails but he claims that he is in bankruptcy at this point and can’t pay.
At this point, I would strongly recommend you stay away from this business. Not only for their inability to stand by their work but by the simple fact that they are in bankruptcy at this point.
