This month I decided to take care of the repairs, batteries and sizing issues with six new and older watches. Most of these are designer brands. This included batteries for five of them, sizing for three of them and possible repair for one of the watches. They were quick, efficient and the prices quite reasonable. Everything was ready within 2 days and they called to let me know when they were ready to pick up. They gave me the right advice on sizing of the metal bands(they all fit the way I like) and on the possible repair. Instead of charging me to look at the watch that I thought needed repair(which some stores will) or repairing it and charging me even more(which some stores will) they provided honest advice and I decided against repair of the crystal in this case. The battery of one more watch called it quits while these were all in the shop, so when I went in to retrieve my watches they swapped out that battery while I waited. All with quite reasonable prices. I can attest that for batteries, bands and honest advice on repairs they cannot be beat. While I didn’t have any repairs performed on the watch movements, I trust these people and would definitely have any internal repairs performed by Fleury Andre.

I’ve only used this place for very standard things like watch bracelet sizing or changes and for that they were fine. I’m not sure how much I trust them with actual watch servicing however. I would probably prefer to take it to a factory authorized service center such as the ones on Post St., in San Francisco.

I find it ironic that the 1 – 2 stars come from the«entitled» generation… the generation that everything must come fast, cheap, or better yet FREE. Yes, turn-around time might be somewhere in the middle of 8 – 16 weeks, or possibly longer. Andre and Sacha are a 2 man team, a father and son business that has stayed alive in this market for the past 30 years. Ask your parents, your grandparents, or your aunts and uncles who have utilized the expertise, skill, proficiency and dedication from Andre Fleury, and you’ll see where their peace of mind lies when it comes to their timepiece.

I can give no stars as Andre did no work. We tried, he didn’t. My boyfriend’sTag Heuer watch got water in it and I took it to Andre to see if he could fix it. He said«this is an emergency, I will look at it and call you back in an hour.» After waiting five hours, I called him back. He said it would cost $ 450 to fix it. I told him I would have my boyfriend call him as this was a lot of money and he should better understand Andre’s plan. My boyfriend called Andre 10 minutes later, and got a recording saying they were closed, but would call back within 24 hours. This should have been a clue. Why would it take so long to return a call regarding an «emergency»? We waited for Andre to return the call for 3 days. We were out of town and couldn’t do anything about the watch, so decided to «test» Andre to see what sort of business he ran. Nothing. Finally, when we got back, I called him and told him we didn’t want him to do the work and I was picking the watch up. We since took it to another watch repair place, they charged $ 350, did excellent work in a timely and professional manner.

I dropped my watch at the airport coming out of security and the crystal broke. I also lost the bezel. A friend of mine recommended Andre and his son, Sasha, for repair. I drove well out of my way to find him to ask for an estimate for repair. He asked me to leave it and said he would call me. Neither Andre or his son called me back. I drove back to their office to inquire as to whether or not they could repair my watch, and they told me that they hadn’t looked at it yet… but would call me that day. They didn’t. I called them and left a voicemail — they STILL wouldn’t call me back. I ended up driving back again — 2 weeks later — and they STILL had done nothing. Andre’s excuse: he was on vacation. NOTACCEPTABLE. Does Sasha know how to operate a telephone?

We have been bringing timepieces to Andre Fleury for about 15 years. He and his family are pleasant, helpful, and they don’t overcharge for services. I brought some pieces in for him to evaluate and he did it for free while I was there(they weren’t worth much, but had sentimental value.) He also recommended and sold us completely reasonably priced domes in which to display some old pocketwatches. Usually we just get batteries changed there, and they also do that quickly, reasonably, and pleasantly.

I have been going to Andre Fleury now for about 20 years for work on two Rolex watches and an Omega. Oh, I forgot the Atmos. How can you beat a certified Swiss watch maker? The answer is simple, you can’t. Andre has also trained his son Sasha well which is comforting knowing I can get our valuable time pieces repaired for a long time to come. No, Fleury is not cheap but what is of this level of quality! Tony E.

I brought my watch in 18 years ago and it ran 15 years great. When it started acting up I brought it right back and had it fixed. It cost $ 400 which was significant but I love my watch which I have had since 1975. After about 2 years I noticed the self winder did not work and I had to wind the watch manually as it would stop cold. I waited another 8 months before bringing it in and was told that it would cost another $ 350 to fix it and that I should be bringing it in every year to be serviced. I asked how much the yearly service would be and was told $ 350 approx. Not sure what I will do now. I loved the first repair but was surprised by the short duration of the 2nd repair and the response on the servicing.

Poor Poor customer service. I took my watch in for repair in January, after weeks of silence, I called and asked the status. Was told the parts needed we on back order and they would call the next day after checking on availiability. The following week, I called again, the same message and of course no phone call back. Did this for several months with promises of call backs. Stopped in several times with the same result. When confronted with why they did not return messages and calls, they claimed that it was difficult because they had up to 500 watches under repair at one time. The watch repair was completed in September and they offered no appologies. I will never use them again.

I am reluctant to Unilocal Andre as he has done some good work in the past on my watch but I have to relay my last experience. In Oct. of 2007 I had my old Rolex watch repaired for over $ 300.00 with the guarantee that he made to me for one year. Of course 1 year and 2 or 3 months later the watch quit keeping good time so I took it back to him thinking he would repair it again for free or at least a small sum. He called me back and wanted me to spend another $ 400+ to get it back working properly again. I told him I was very disappointed with this but he wouldn’t budge or make any concessions. I picked up my watch and he told me he thought I should send it to Rolex. $ 300.00 and no working watch, I am not a happy camper!

If you think that mom n’ pop shops are a thing of the past, you really should stop by and say hi to Andre. He’s repaired my watch for me a couple of times, always with such friendly service. Once, he performed a minor repair on my watchband for free. You just don’t get service like this anymore!
