I have multiple injuries as a result of an auto accident. The massage of my neck and back is beginning to alleviate the stiffness and pain associated with these injuries… Thank you John!

I went to massage envy today because my mother in law had given me a gift certificate. I have heard both good and bad reviews about this place so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Bottom line. I was going to get some alone time and hopefully get a good massage. What I got was an exceptional massage. I had Paul as my massage therapist and he was exactly what I needed. I felt as though it wasn’t just a feel good massage but really a healing massage. His pressure was spot on, he was professional, thorough, listened to exactly what I wanted and he let me just relax. Unlike many other therapists he didn’t talk. he just let me have my moment and occasionally directed my breathing. Besides the wonderful massage the place as clean, the staff at the front were very friendly, and the massage room was comfortable, warm, and very relaxing. I will definitely be going back to Paul and massage envy.

I love this place. It is clean, appointments are always spot on time and the massages are great. I have had some massages that were mediocre but I just tried different people until I found the good ones. The lady I go to now knows me well, automatically turns off the dipshit music and doesn’t need to be reminded about my sore spots. It costs a little extra with the tip but for my needs it’s worth it and still way cheaper than a lot of massages I have had in the past.

DONOTGET A FACIALHERE!!! They actually have the nerve to CHARGE for the product they put on your skin WITHOUT letting you know… very sneaky and aggressive.

PLEASEREADTHIS! The staff at the desk will try to sell you a membership. DON’T make the mistake i did, and sign without reading the fine print! It turns out it’s a ONEYEAR commitment! The money comes directly out of my checking, and I can’t quit for a year without legal ramifications! No one told me this when i signed up. Later, i spoke to a co-worker who used to work there, and she told me that they’re TRAINED to sell you a contract when you’re just coming out of a massage, all blissed out — and NOT to mention the commitment. This is so sleazy! Now i don’t even want to step foot in that creepy place again — except for, oops, i’m paying for one massage a month. I hope others will benefit from this warning, at least.

If I had time I would name everyone that works down there. I have never had a bad massage at Massage Envy. Never. And all their profile things that they offer oh my gosh the sugar foot rubs oh they’re so wonderful I love that I’ve had the facials down there. I’ve been going to massage Envy 4 years now. & I haven’t look for another place because it’s not necessary I found in am given exactly what I want. From the minute I walk to the door and I’m greeted by my first name to the minute that I leave and they say goodbye and thank me for coming to their star office I feel like I get the royal treatment. It’s awesome.

I’m really not sure what the negative reviews are about… I’ve had exceptional service every time I’ve gone. Their front desk staff is so friendly, not only are they super helpful over the phone, they know my name when I walk in– which really means they take the time to get to know their clientele. Not to mention, when I had signed up initially, I didn’t know there was a student discount. When I brought it up during my next visit, not only did they adjust my current membership, but they put a credit on my account to compensate for the extra payments I had made prior to having the discounted rate. They took that extra step to make sure I was happy. And their massages and facials are great! I love that the therapists are genuinely kind and friendly. Yes this isn’t a spa from the Fairmont, but you have to keep in mind you’re getting the service for $ 50. And for $ 50, a personable front desk, an experienced therapist, and a happier state of mind? I’d say it’s quite a steal!

I’ve been a member for over 3 years and have had nothing but good experiences with the therapist and front desk staff. I honestly don’t go there because it’s inexpensive, I go there because there are some really good therapists. And the front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. Jeri at the front desk is truly a star. I’ve had many massages over the years and have had some of the best at this location. I recommend Mike & Chandra. My favorites so far! And for anyone reading all the negative reviews, don’t get sucked into their drama, cause that’s all it is. Drama of people who are probably unhappy with everything in their lives.

DONOTJOINAS A MEMBER. It’s a horrible contract that ties you into wasting your money. Read the contract carefully. If you don’t like the offerings, you are stuck in a system that takes your money with no refund or compensation. RIPOFF. Mediocre staff. Find local massages not under a corporate yoke. This place sucks. Too much money for what it offers. Lack of professionalism.

I go here all the time and have had more good experiences than bad. I have been a member for years and this one is a little further than the one closer to my house, but I’ve had really bad experiences at El Cerrito. Would recommend.

Dominique is a fabulous therapist who knows how to properly massage arms, hands, fingers, legs, and feet. I’ve scheduled 4 sessions with her and hope to continue for another 10 sessions.

Great place but you will NOT get an appointment. Weekend times are filled up by Wednesdays and I called today(Tuesday mid afternoon) for a same day appointment and again they are full. I joined this monthly contract driven membership so this is irksome since I am being billed and yet can’t get in unless I book way in advance. I think they just don’t hire enough masseuses for the demand. An awful way to run a business. Find yourself a local self employed masseuse or go to a chiropractic office where they have a masseuse on staff.

Since I am an honest reviewer, I will have to update my review of Massage Envy in San Rafael. After my complaints to their corporate office that my massage vouchers where no longer valid and I would lose my money after I canceled my membership(even though i had paid $ 200 for them) They got back to me and offered me a refund for the unused massages. That was really nice of them. Lesson learned, read the fine print and ask questions before you sign anything. Some businesses are sneakier than others. But thanks M.E.

I see all the negative reviews are about the nuts and bolts of the membership and the cancelllation policy. Just read the fine print if you sign up, ask questions and don’t do it if you can’t afford it. I’ve been going there for about a year. Most of my massages have been wonderful. It may take a few visits before you find a therapist that you click with, but once you do, it’s worth the money. I’ve been seeing the same therapist for a while, and she’s in-freaking-credible. She finds problem spots i didn’t even realize I had. Everyone who works there is polite and professional.

It’s been much too long since my last massage(confession). Thought I’d try to give Massage Envy a call since they are so conveniently located, but after my phone call conversation, me thinks not. Something similar to, «Can you please hold?» was muttered before I could even reply, so I sat on hold to which I would’ve certainly complied had I been given the chance in the first place. What a difference a split second can make on a first impression! The female receptionist returned to the phone, but her customer service/attitude continued to go downhill. No appointment made because if the first impression on the phone was this bad, I don’t need to step foot inside to meet it in person.

Stephanie is Absolutely the BEST! I have gotten massages from here to vietnam and everywhere in between… and I really think Stephanie is the best that I have had. I have been going to her for a couple years and hope to continue seeing her. She is educated and so in-tuned with my body and how it feels. She also remembers me and what I usually like to have worked on which is a nice interpersonal quality of hers. My mom and aunt are also monthly members(such a great deal) The front desk staff is also very friendly The place is clean The price is right It took me testing out a couple people to find the right person for me. Everyone has a different style, so please take negative reviews below with a grain of salt. For example, my mom sees the same person every time, whom she loves, and is someone who really does not work for me. We’re all different. So give Massage Envy a try, or two :) Start off with Stephanie, too!

I went in today and Tom massaged me. He listened to what I asked for and he went right to it. He did exactly what I asked and he was able to do deep tissue work that felt great. The place was nice and clean. I understand that some of the reviews are bad because they didn’t like their massage therapist but that could happen anywhere. Those that reviewed them bad because of money should never have signed up and should take responsibility for their own inept financial planning instead of blaming others. The membership package sounds great if you plan on going two times a month.

Very professionally run and a great price. Added; I was on their auto charge program for a year but unfortunately when I ended that they wouldn’t honor my last session because I made the appointment after my expiration date. Doen’t it make sense to honor that since it was paid? Have to drop a star for that and hopefully they will change that policy.

OK… so first off… I want you to know that I’m a therapist here. But I’m not writing about myself nor about the business structure(several others have commented on that before). But I am writing this because I’ve had lots of massages here from a bunch of different therapists(one of our perks). Some of my favorites… in my humble opinion… include: Katie, Olivia, Roy, Mercedes, and Kingsya. Am not saying the other therapists are bad… not at all… just that I can speak from personal experience that these five are really good. Each one has been really responsive to particular issues that I’ve had(e.g. sore arms, lower back, shoulders, or neck)…and each one has been been able to adjust pressure as needed. Give em a try… you wont be disappointed.

It is true about massage. If you know the person, the better it will be because you have a connection. When it comes to any type of healing and bodywork, the connection can make the difference. I signed up after a good massage thinking, $ 39 after the $ 59 monthly massage. But, I never get passed the one per month. The $ 59 massage(1 hour) never lasts more than 45 – 50 minutes and I feel rushed so the therapist can make their next appointment. Excuse me? Did I not feed the meter properly? Am I gangrenous? Do I offend? I should’ve known the cookie cutter massage parlor sitting next to Trader Joe’s. Don’t think about being able to park your car. Not possible. The two stars are for the therapists who ARE good at what they do and ARE on their way to setting up their own shop/work in a place that is relaxed. But as far as Massage Envy is concerned, they get one star. Thanks to Jamie D. for alternative suggestions. Ditto.
