We used Noy to design a wedding dress. As you can imagine this is a very special job where you want perfection every step of the way to the end. That is exactly what we got. From first visit, design consultation, every fitting, to final look in the mirror.

I was looking for a dress for a summer wedding I was attending and really wanted something different than I was finding in the department stores. I decided to stop by Noy’s studio after seeing what an amazing job she did on a friend’s wedding dress. We talked about the wedding – that it would be a garden wedding, in the evening, with a creative black tie dress code. She suggested I try on a dress I hadn’t initially seen in her studio and then started designing a dress that was a combination of the best parts of a couple different dresses – a short multicolored v-​neck dress and a long silk black gown. Then, she began pulling down silk fabrics in shades of green and leaf-​like geometric patterns and showing me how the leaf-​like geometric patterned silk, which was a sheer, would overlay nicely on the green solid silk. She even started drawing out the dress on paper to show me what she was thinking it would look like. It was perfect for the wedding – lightweight (it was a hot and humid summer wedding) and elegant. She was able to make the gown in about a month, with only one fitting needed after the initial visit. The quality and details of the dress were exceptional. She will definitely be designing my wedding dress next spring!

Wow! I stumbled upon Noy Design by accident and in the midst of a desperate panic to find a formal dress for an opening gala event. I had ordered a dress online that I was just going to take in to have hemmed (she does alterations as well), but was not in love with the dress I bought online. I had been to every major department store and dress boutique in SF with no luck and only had days before the event, so I figured my online purchase would just have to work. When I walked into Noy, I was blown away by the gorgeous dresses. While there were probably only 15 long evening dresses in the store, I immediately loved 4 or 5 of them (pretty good ratio though considering I had spent hours at Macy’s, Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomy’s, etc. without finding a single dress I really liked). Noy is incredibly talented. She designs and makes everything herself and many of her gowns are red carpet worthy. She is also super accommodating. Even though she was really busy, she was willing to work over the long weekend and get me in for 2 fittings in order to finish my dress within the small window of time that I needed it in for the event. Everything is custom fitted to your body and most are one of a kinds so you don’t have to worry about seeing 8 other people in the same dress. Prices are a bit steep, but the quality, workmanship, and custom fit are well worth for a couture piece that is so spectacularly gorgeous. I will definitely be back to see her again.

I bought a one-​of-​a-​kind silk evening gown from Noy. She tailored it perfectly to me, so I ended up with a very custom dress. It’s probably the most beautiful piece of clothing I own! I will definitely go back to Noy for my next special occasion dress. Her prices are not low, but considering the fact that she personally sews every stitch, her fabrics are absolutely beautiful, and you end up with a locally-​made piece of haute couture, her prices are actually very reasonable. She is a a real find.

Noy makes gorgeous dresses and does excellent alterations, very fast. I work with people with disabilties and we have used Noy for alterations and found her to be patient, kind and friendly. She also did a fantastic, quick job very reasonably. Now Noy is interested in custom designing clothing for people with disabilties and doing alterations for elderly people. She plans to go to local retirement facilities to offer her services. Her shop is not wheelchair accessible but she will drive to you upon request.
