We were greeted by Anna, her female coworker, and hottie cubby bear. Bam! Felt welcome, assisted, and given options! We will return! Made a small purchase of only $ 179.00 but the experience was wonderful!

I am giving this store 4 stars because I had a negative experience which the manager Amanda turned into a positive. A year ago I purchased three seat cushions for a bench. I recently decided to purchase a fourth to move them all to outdoor chairs. When I went into the store, I found the right pattern/fabric but the size seemed wrong. The employee told me, «That’s the only size cushion we have ever sold in that fabric» which was wrong. When I brought it back for a refund, I had lost the receipt and was issued a gift certificate. I was told to wait a month or so for the spring arrivals… then they’d have all kinds of cushion sizes and shapes. Two days ago I went back in and was encouraged to order the exact cushion I wanted online for free shipping right from the store. I produced the gift card and was told there was no way to use it online… I’d have to charge the cushion and use the gift card for other merchandise. ARGH. Enter Amanda. She refunded the value of the gift card to a credit card, then I used that same credit card to order the cushion with free shipping. Great solution to the vexing problem.

Excellent customer service. Many years ago, I used to recruit from Pier One. Greeters were pleasant without being overbearing. Store was clean and fairly easy to shop — it’s merchandised to capacity, so considering that, it was pleasant. Wish stores were able to look up purchases with your credit card. Will shop here again. Pier One understands«hire for attitude, train for skill.»

Came looking for tree ornaments and while the store was decked out for the holidays, a lot of the stuff that was advertised online was not there. It didn’t vary much from other Pier 1s I’ve been to. In fact, I think it was 25% smaller both in square feet and inventory than the one I was used to on Chicago’s North Side. The staff were too busy dealing with other customers to bother me, and the one question I asked was handled very well — I was looking for a tree topper and the lady found one that I hadn’t seen before. Left with the tree topper, a set of five glass nutcracker ornaments, and a variety of glass ball ornaments for under $ 40.

It’s a typical Pier 1 Imports store. This location is convenient with easy parking. While it isn’t a huge store for Pier 1, it covers the basics. As is typical for this chain, the staff is a bit pushy. They are there to help, yes, plus they have e-mail and mailing lists and credit cards I can apply for but geesh, just let me browse. I like to shop in peace and meander to find what I’m looking for. Eventually the staff allows it but only after 5+ inquiries and then it starts all over again when something is purchased. But this isn’t unique to this location, it seems to be company culture. Again, this location is a typical Pier 1 store that’s easy to get to in San Rafael.
