Susan is amazing. She is incredibly welcoming, patient, and carries genuine care into the work that she puts in while cutting my hair. Every time I see her, around three weeks or so, she greets me like I’ve known her my entire life. We chit chat, she gets to cutting my hair, and then it always follows up with a great story of some time in her past.
She is a people person, and I appreciate that. Go to Susan if you want consistently great service, consistent hair cuts, and a fair price in a economy that is anything but. Stay away from the hipster over priced «barber shops» and support a small town lady and her small town business.

I go to Susan for every one of my haircuts. She is friendly and warm– I look forward to chatting with her and catching up.
On top of that, she provides me with a great, consistent haircut, which is way more than I can say about those cheap chainstore barbers. Susan knows exactly how I like my hair, so I don’t have to explain it again every time I need a trip.
A reliable, quality haircut for a reasonable price!

I like that it’s easy to find parking near Quality Haircuts. I usually don’t have to wait long to get my haircut as well. Susan is friendly and takes great care of my hair. I like the way she cut my hair the first time. I want to keep my hair looking the same and I can trust Susan for that job. That’s why I always come back.

I have gotten my hair cut by Susan several times and she has done an excellent job every time. Afterwards, I feel reinvigorated and full of confidence, with her styling my hair. She knows how I want my hair to look like and is efficient with time.
Consistency and quality is what I value most about this place. 17 dollars is well worth the price for this haircut. I’ll be coming back every time I need a haircut.

Susan does a great job cutting my hair. She listens to what I want and she’s consistent each time. I don’t really ever need to do my own touch-​ups after I get home and inspect my head — which is awesome because that seems to be normal post-​cut protocol with a lot of other barbers/​stylists I’ve been to.

Forget it! Susan can’t cut hair and charges $ 17 to experiment on you. There are many other hair salons in San Rafael… Choose one of them unless you want to throw away your money, or else just come here!

Susan is great. She is always open at lunch when I can zip in for a trim. She is a small business owner who really enjoys taking care of her customers and will make sure you look great before you leave. Can’t say enough!

Once you and Susan have agreed on how you want your hair cut, that’s the way she’ll cut it. I had finally concluded that only an old-​fashioned, male, barber knew how to taper the back of a man’s haircut, but when that’s what you want, Susan knows how to do it.
The shop is very clean — probably cleaner than most I’ve been in. It’s on D Street below 4th, near the St Vincent’s Dining Room, but that is not a problem in any way. Susan says she doesn’t cut any of their hair, since they want freebies. There’s supposedly a place where the guys who frequent the Dining Room can get free haircuts, but they apparently don’t like the cuts they get there. You don’t see them in Susan’s, though.
A fine, clean little barber shop with a short wait.

Susan is fantastic. I’ve come three times over the course of the year I’ve lived in San Rafael and she’s got the names of me and my children as well as how we like out hair already memorized. Love it!
The shop is small and generally has a short wait — she has a steady stream of what appears to be regulars. If you’re looking for a nice cut from a friendly face come visit Susan. Bring cash, she doesn’t take credit cards.
