Great, great, great… Alvin is a great entertainer and performer… He was kind enough to donate his time for a friend’s cause and we bid on the event — We then contacted him for my son’s graduation party — He was very kind and didn’t mind going around to perform up close and personal entertainment for 90+ people. Everybody loved him so much that we asked him to come again for another party. Thank you Alvin & Joanne!

Alvin is a great performer and has a great personality. We hired him for my graduation party and all the guests really enjoyed his show. He went group by group and did small performances which made it very intimate. My friends were talking about some his tricks all night and kept saying «how did he do it?» Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely hire him again.

Alvin is a wonderful performer. I have hired him multiple times his performance has always been entertaining. He’s very professional, friendly, and funny. I threw a graduation party for my sister at my house, but I wanted it make it special and a fun party. I thought about Alvin and called him, it was a last min invite but Alvin was kind enough to make arrangements to make himself available.
My sisters graduation party was unforgettable because is Alvin, my sister was surprised and had a blast, the guests loved his performance so much that one of guests did not want Alvin to leave .
The guests didn’t want the performance to end. Alvin was wonderful and he lightened up our party. All thumbs up, I highly recommend him. If there was a option for 10 stars I’d give him that .

Why can’t I rate 10 stars?! I had the pleasure of Alvin perform at my rehearsal dinner two days before my wedding. Not only did he entertain and interact with the group (50 people), he was receptive to people mingling and asked how he could further better the evening. I could go on and on about Alvin and what a great performance he put on but in doing so, showed what a true professional he is. He added to our special weekend and helped to create a great memory which we will always look back at. Would love to have him attend another event! Class act!

Alvin was great! He worked the room at our company Christmas party this year, and he was just wonderful! We really could not figure out how he did his tricks. He definitely kept everyone entertained, and he is such a nice guy. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and other Unilocalies.

Alvin performed at my team’s office holiday party. He is absolutely AMAZING. He engages his audience to participate which makes a really fun. Alvin performed at my Mom’s big surprise birthday bash this past weekend at Uncle Yu’s and I was absolutely thrilled with his performance, service, and personality. As always, when hiring entertainers, it can be nerve-​wrecking for the host or hostess because entertainment is such a big part of any party. It can make or break your party atmosphere.
When I first contacted Alvin, he was responsive and professional and even offered to do a little something special for my mom in his performance. He wrote in his email that he liked to speak with his clients on the phone at least once before the event, so that he can get a feel for the party and event. I thought this was really cool of him because the other magician I had contacted was really short with me and basically was all about business.
Alvin is professional and also has the friendly, down-​to-​earth side to him. Our party enjoyed his performance so much that at the end, the kids wanted to take a picture with the famous magician. It is often hard to entertain kids and adults in the same room, but Alvin did so masterfully. At the end of his 1-​hour show, Alvin spent extra time walking around from table to table (we had 25 people) entertaining the guests in small groups. Alvin was really good at making that connection with people and making sure that they had a good time.
It was so much fun that at the end of the party after everyone left, the restaurant managers asked me how I found Alvin and the price of his performance. I gladly shared with them Alvin’s information. All in all, I would recommend Alvin to anyone who is looking for a fun, professional, friendly, personable, funny entertainer, who is also passionate about his magic and his work. I thanked Alvin for making our event a success at the end of his performance, but what really surprised me was that he was genuine in thanking us for having him there. If you’re thinking about booking either Alvin or someone else, go with Alvin. I promise you won’t regret it.

Alvin came to our office grand opening as a guest and ended up stealing the show! He mesmerized us with his trickery, and we couldn’t keep the shock off our faces, or the laughter at a manageable level. It was an absolute pleasure to witness his skills. He even stole a card out of my hands without me able to tell. I know it was my card because he let me sign it before hand. How’d he do that? We asked over and over again! The night was tons of fun. We won a private event with Alvin Lui at a charity auction to benefit our local school district. Alvin came and performed for our group of ~50 family and friends. It is no exaggeration to say that Alvin was spectacular. Not only was it fun to see the kids’ amazement at his illusions, but it was equally fun to see the faces of the amazed and confused adults.
Alvin was great to work with. While the original plan was for two hours of strolling illusion, Alvin happily adjusted to include a 30 minute performance at the beginning of his time with us when asked. The majority of Alvin’s illusions involved audience participation, which made it really special for the guests. At the end of the show and for the rest of the party, all anyone could talk about was «how in the heck did he do that trick?»
The icing on the cake for me personally was the time and attention Alvin gave to the kids. We had three or four kids who set up their own personal magic show for later in the evening, and Alvin stayed to watch and applaud their acts. He even gave each personal advice on how they might further improve the delivery of their magic, which was really awesome for the kids.
Alvin is a fantastic performer and a great guy. My friends and I look forward to seeing him perform again and are planning to check out his Walnut Creek show.

We hired Alvin to perform for our twin daughters college send off party. He strolled around and mingled with all of our guests while performing his illusions. Everyone enjoyed his talents! Alvin’s presence at our party definitely made our gathering even more memorable. Wonderful!

My galpal and I attended «Before Your Eyes» an Evening of Astonishment — March 15^th 2014 at the Unscripted Theatre in San Francisco.
Awesome date. As much fun as seeing a concert at the Warfield — but with a different buzz. MAGIC!
If you’re considering seeing the show — go! The experience is far more fun than going to a movie.
About a third of the show was Alvin Lui and Timothy James working together as a team, then Alvin going solo for a third and Timothy for a third. They mix it up.
It’s somewhat brainy — perfect if you enjoy clever conversation.
The show featured a lot of audience participation.
Afterwards I experienced a joyfulness that lasted for days — I keep wondering — HOW DID THEY DO THAT?

I met Alvin at an open house. Everyone was blown away with his energy, his presence, and how well done all his tricks or illusions were.

What a professional! I was planning a surprise party and wanted to include some entertainment for our guests. I searched and found Alvin on Unilocal.

We hired Alvin to surprise my daughter in a private room of a restaurant for her 13^th birthday. He was very timely, professional, and did a fantastic job entertaining the girls and other guests with some very unique and imaginative tricks. He was very personable and engaging throughout his stay and was a great bonus for the celebration. He is good for all ages, both kids and adults. I had met Alvin at a V.I.P. store opening and was very impressed with him and took a gamble that he might be a good fit for her party. I suggest anyone taking the same gamble… you will be glad you did as he is a great addition to any celebration!

I was lucky enough to be at a party where Alvin performed some of his magic… literally! i must say that before this, I had never seen any magic in person… just only on a couple of television shows, and I kid you not… I was SO impressed by Alvin that those shows could not compare. The personal interaction that he has with the audience is unbelievable and he entertains with such excitement that you can totally tell that he truly loves and enjoys what he does. We recently enlisted the services of Alvin Lui for one of our corporate events at the Blackhawk Auto Museum and it was a great hit! Alvin is very professional with a great personality and the employees thoroughly enjoyed his amazing magic tricks. For our wedding we called on Alvin he gave us a sample of what he did in our home. My husband is Chinese and I am Mexican. We had Alvin go table to table performing his magic. It was wonderful for both families, loved it, even if you speak Chinese only or Spanish only you don’t need an interpreter for this. The Show is so entertaining, he is so reasonably priced and easy to work with. He has a great personality. We got so much more than we expected. We are definitely going to use his services for more of our Parties. I think kids around 11 or 12 would have a lot of fun not any younger. He is in Dublin but goes all around the Bay Area.
