Adam and his crew of DJ’s+ are amazing. Ben was our DJ for my daughters Bat Mitzvah, and he nailed it. In the initial interview Adam asked all the right questions, gave my daughter the right amount of homework: (10) must play, (10) must never play songs and they even were able to pull in the Russian folk flare. Every single person danced and learned the steps, everyone laughed a ton and cried when my husband split his pants on the dance floor! We all had a super time, and never once did I think — the pace is wrong, this song isnt working… Ben was perfect from start to finish, and just the best nicest guy ever. I would give more stars if I could. I should add; I was very late in securing a DJ for this event and I found Gatsby through Unilocal.I had no personal recommendations, and I went with my gut after meeting Adam and so glad I did.

GATSBY ENT. brought the house down for our Sept. wedding! They were beyond anything we could’ve expected and we received multiple compliments from our wedding guests that «they were the BEST DJ ever» and «best wedding dance party ever.» We worked with Max throughout our entire planning process and had DJ Frances and A-​N-​D at our wedding. Everything went seamless!
We had the package that included a jazz trio to play in the foyer during cocktail hour, flapper girls, photo booth, DJ and custom Gobo lighting. Everything was so perfect and nice that we could book all of our entertainment with one vendor.
We had family members that never danced before and my cousin came up from his wheelchair. They were THAT good and very attentive to our requests.
I highly recommend them. They are not the typical «wedding DJs», they’re really awesome DJ’s who happen to do weddings!

Adam and his Party Rock crew including DJ and dancers provided amazing entertainment for my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. They exceeded all of my expectations. Our guest, both teens and adults, have told me the party was the most fun they have had in a long time. Adam also provided all of the special lighting and photographers. I will hire Adam and Gatsby for our next B’nai Mitzvah.

My wife and I hired Gatsby Entertainment for our wedding reception in late July at the Corinthian Yacht Club in Tiburon. We were very impressed with the service. Jason was professional during the planning process and Max, our DJ on event night, did an awesome job and kept people dancing. In addition to the DJ services, we used Gatsby to supply event lighting as well as a classical string trio to play during the ceremony at a nearby chapel. The lighting looked great, and complemented the vintage setting of the yacht club well. The string trio arrived on time and played the music perfectly. I highly recommend Gatsby. Thanks Jason, Max and team for a memorable event.

Jason was the DJ at my birthday party this past weekend and he was simply amazing! He is very professional — all of my conversations with him leading up to the party led me to trust that he was going to be a fun DJ and very easy to work with. He showed up with plenty of time to set-​up and also brought uplighting for my outdoor event. He paid attention to all my music preferences and requests and made it such a fun party for my guests! I highly recommend him to be your DJ for your next event!

Jason was our DJ at our wedding August 2014 and he was excellent. We were able to choose all the songs and select uplighting and various other options that made the wedding day out of this world. Everyone at the wedding danced nearly every dance. Thank you Jason. Let’s go catch some waves.

Overall, Gatsby was an effective DJ for our wedding. They kept the evening going and the music was entertaining enough that our guests had a very good time. However, my husband and I were not as impressed. We had one main, continuous issue: communication breakdowns.
We had multiple conversations with 3 very pleasant people from Gatsby (a phone call 3 months out, a 30-​day meeting, a phone conversation about 5 days prior, and one last phone conversation nailing down small details the night before the wedding) but it seemed like the 3 people never spoke to one another. Gatsby has a website that allows customers to put «must-​play» lists, «do not play» lists, names of the bridal party members, timeline of the event, etc but when we would speak to the different DJs it seemed like no one was referencing that website. Each of them would ask us the same info we had already told someone else and put on the website. It didn’t give us peace of mind that they knew what was going on.
Most of the day of the wedding, Gatsby’s people were acceptable. They were on time, well dressed, and ready to go well before the ceremony start time. The microphone that was used during dinner was kind of quiet so it was hard for some of the guests to hear when the DJ was speaking. It would have been nice if that could have been turned up a bit. Not a big deal.
However, something that will always bother me a little is the song Gatsby chose for the exit song immediately after the wedding ceremony. My husband and I didn’t have an exact song we wanted to play but we told Gatsby people multiple times that we wanted the exit song to be something instrumental and happy sounding. We had even requested «Vivaldi/​upbeat instrumental» on the Gatsby website for our post-​wedding song. The ceremony ended, he kissed the bride (me) and some lyric-​filled pop song was played. I was walking out of my own wedding wondering what the hell song was playing! My Mom even asked me later that night why I picked that song because it seemed so out of place. I told her I was as puzzled as she was about it.
Finally, during the reception, one of the Gatsby people came up to me and my husband and asked about the last song of the night. My husband and I both said «do NOT play ‘Friends in Low Places!’» The Gatsby representative said he was glad he asked because that was the song they planned to play. So we scrambled to pick a new last song and it went off without a hitch. The problem is, «Friends In Low Places» was on our DO NOT PLAY list and we told every Gatsby person we spoke with that that we really disliked that song.
I’m annoyed because they have a tool in place to help them make sure that the music they play is tailored to the likes and dislikes of the people that hired them. However it doesn’t seem like they reference it. I say, hire them. They do a pretty good job. But save yourself the time and don’t bother filling in their website. The don’t seem to look at it anyway.

We hired Adam and his team to DJ our son’s Bar Mitzvah last week. Adam is a pro at setting a great tone for the night and kept everyone entertained, from the 13 year olds to the adults to the 8 and under crowd. Adam helped us work out a perfect timeline for the event, lead everyone through the Hora perfectly and kept everything flowing throughout the night. MixMaster Miguel played the perfect mix of songs to make everyone happy and the two dancers helped everyone have the right moves.
Adam did some fun games with the kids but was also flexible and willing to share the stage with the casino dealers we brought in. Some of the DJs we talked to said they wanted to be the only entertainment but Adam said it was our event and up to us. He walked us through the pros and cons and in the end, managed it all perfectly. I also appreciated that Adam & Miguel had them music pumping when everyone was on the dance floor but turned it down during dinner so people could hear each other talk.
All in all, it was a perfect night and Adam was a huge reason for it. Many of our guests commented that it was one of the best Bar Mitzvahs they’ve ever been too. High praise after a year of rotating through our friends’.
I highly recommend Gatsby. We’ll be calling them again in a few years!

We hired Gatsby Entertainment for our 75^th Anniversary Celebration at Gunther’s Ice Cream, in Sacramento. Michelle, who ran the photo booth did an exceptional job, it was the hit of the event. Michelle was very professional yet very personable. I would recommend Gatsby Entertainment for any event. You will not be disappointed.

There needs to be an option for more stars, because 5 is nowhere near enough. Max did my wedding last night, and he brought the house down! He was so easy to work with, he is super chill, and someone I could hang with on a daily basis. Not only did he DJ, but he did lights, a photo booth, and coordinating. He was very patient when we were behind schedule, he directed us very well, and all of my guests had nothing but amazing things to say.
If anyone is searching for a DJ, for any type of event, I highly recommend you stop looking, and hire Max immediately. Not only was he professional, but he was fun, and also hot. The girls were loving him haha. He responded to all of my emails, answered all of my questions, and made my night. Thank you for doing my wedding. Couldn’t imagine anyone else doing it. I seriously doubt that it would have been as fun, with anyone else. Thank you Max! We love you!

We hired Gatsby Entertainment for our wedding and Jason did a FANTASTIC job. He kept the energy up all night and transitioned very well between songs. Many of the guests commented on how fun the music was. It certainly kept people dancing!
We also used Gatsby to do the sound for our ceremony. The lapel microphone for my husband and I and the microphone for our officiant worked very well.
I would DEFINITELY recommend Gatsby and Jason! He really made the night a ton of fun.

These guys are awesome. Moe was absolutely incredible. From the initial moment of the party to the end. Had all of the kids engaged. Adults were rocking out. I hired Gatsby Entertainment to MC my 50^th birthday party at Hayes Mansion. Adam was great. He brought a sense of professionalism to my event during the roast. When you have a team comprised of three of the most professional, personable, and creative talents in the event entertainment industry, fantastic results are to be expected. In the case of Gatsby Entertainment, they do not disappoint.
We hired them to do some event lighting, DJ, and a greenscreen photo booth. Jason showed up for 2 walkthroughs, was attentive to our client as though they were his own, and basically over-​delivered on every aspect of what we needed.
It is so rare in the event business to find creative types that also pay such attention to detail, but when we made an error in our planning, Adam caught it and rectified the situation immediately. That saved us! When they showed up (an hour earlier than necessary, just to be sure), they brought extra equipment, set it up, and didn’t charge anything additional… just because they wanted it to be special!
These guys get my highest recommendation. If you are planning entertainment for your social or corporate event, call Jason, Max, and Adam. You will be pleased and can rest easy.

Gatsby Entertainment is AMAZING to work with, they just did my Son’s Bar Mitzvah last weekend and I am still overwhelmed by the number of cards, letters, emails and texts that I am still getting from friends and family about how AWESOME!!! the Music and Entertainment was and how it was the best party they ever attended.
Adam and DJ Steve, and dancers Jett and Vanna had the entire room of 130 + people on their feet rocking and dancing and playing games from the very first minute they entered the room. There wasn’t a moment that the floor wasn’t totally packed. I have never seen people both young and old having so much fun together.
Adam was the most incredible MC for the event, he had those kids up on their feet and playing games and the dancers had them learning new dance moves for hours.
Adam was an absolute joy to work with. He honestly could not have done anything better or have been any more professional. I was incredibly impressed from the very first phone call. His requiremnt to meet in person, his immediate responses to my emails and calls, his constant reassurance that my shy son would have fun and that he would get up and dance and that we would have a rocking party was so greatly appreciated.
If you have an event and are looking for a DJ, there is no one who can put on a better party than these guys. Fabulous!!!

Jason was the DJ at our wedding early in May and he OUTDID himself. He was so helpful leading up to our Wedding. I really appriciated his professionalism and put complete trust in him to make decisions i just didnt have time to make. He is so nice and fun to work with. Our guests couldnt stop talking about how great the music was. from the time dancing started to the last song of the night the dance floor was CROWDED!
