My family moved to the area Nov ’12. Both of my kids have been going there and we couldn’t be any happier. Prior to going to Stepping Stone, we toured and interviewed close to a dozen places from Pleasanton to Danville. Now that was an eye opening experience! Obviously SSLC beat all the other locations but here are some facts for you to consider, Price = SSLC falls some where in the middle… BUT includes lunch/snack and probably whatever the staff bring in for themselves! Cleanliness = I’ve seen what these kids are capable of :) but the staff goes above and beyond to keep the classrooms clean. On a regular basis, I’ve seen staff going around and doing a wipe down of all the toys. Learning = in my opinion, 10⁄10. Both of my kids learn so much from the staff, they come home using new words in the right context. Know more about animals, plants and holidays(better than me, ha!) Staff = nurturing, loving, caring… The main reason we chose SSLC over the other school. We love it and would recommend to anyone who has an interest in their kid(s) future.

Decent care for ok price. Teachers are nice as is most of the staff. So here’s the skinny, they have just enough teachers to care for the kids… What does that mean? Well if you have a teacher who is out sick they rotate care providers and the administrative staff helps. When you want care for your child you want consistency. More often than not your child can have 4 – 6 different care providers in a week. Don’t get me started on December where they take 2 weeks off and you still get charged a full month… So why is that? Well as I stated earlier they have only enough staff so vacations are next to impossible for them. It is of course well deserved time off, just unfortunate it comes at your expense. And other random holidays? Yep they get those off to… Columbus Day etc. so there goes all your hard earned vacation time. Last thoughts: they could use some repairs in particular the front gate gets stuck a lot and they have uneven floors in one of the rooms that is a serious trip hazard for kids and adults. On the plus side they do offer a parents night out once a month on a Friday night for only $ 40(6−11pm) which is great. All in all not a great value but if you are looking for a low monthly cost with good teachers this will work. Just keep in mind that cost does come at the expense of your vacation time being used up for all the random holidays and 2 weeks in December you won’t get care from them.

Stepping Stones has a great family type atmosphere. The teachers are friendly and welcome the children every morning. My son attended the school since he was 16 months old and we enjoyed all the years he had been there. Every child is separated by their age group and each group is small so that the teachers are not overwhelmed with kids not paying attention and being disruptive. This helped my son. He received the attention that he needed during his younger years, which is very crucial. We have enjoyed all the performances, treats, picnics and field trips and most of all GRADUATION. If I have another child I will be enrolling them as well.

My kids attended Stepping Stones for 3 years. My youngest was 6 months when we started so we had experience with all the classroom levels. We had a great experience. We found the teachers to be very caring with the children. Both the teachers and the Director made time to talk to us and discuss our children’s needs, etc as often as we wanted. We loved the non-corporate family feeling. Most importantly our kids were happy there and always wanted to stay longer when we came to pick them up.

This review is soley based on a tour I had a few months back when I was looking into putting my son into day care as a 2 year old. From the director rushing out b/c of «an emergency» to the set up of the rooms, all I can say is «chaos». It didn’t fit what I wanted, but obviously this school works for others.
