Benchwarmers Sports Bar

Had dinner and drinks here last night. Terrible experience! For starters our waitress had no personality & acted as if she couldn’t be bothered. To top it off, when I went up to the front counter to ask a question, I caught her talking trash to the owner about one of the people at my table who sent their food back. So rude & she wasn’t the least bit apologetic! Shame on her & the owner! As for the food, it’s less than mediocre! They make all these weird substitutions which I assume is an attempt to scale back on cost with the fresh inventory they keep on hand. It’s my opinion that you shouldn’t carry things on your menu if you can’t make them properly. I ordered a Reuben that was basically cheese & rock hard bread. There was one slice of corn-​beef & hardly any sauerkraut. Waste of money. 4 out of 6 people’s food at our table was cold & when one of the plates got sent back to be «warmed up» & returned again still cold & the cheese not melted, we were told very aggressively by the owner «that’s not how we make that here»! Really, you don’t melt cheese on your nachos?! I was appalled at her reaction & even more annoyed by the evil eye & dirty looks she continuously shot our way for the remainder of the night. They also need to get their bathroom situation under control. One small bathroom for an entire restaurant & hotel lobby. I stood in line for 10 minutes two different times. They do deserve one star though for the great selection of beers they have on tap. Lesson learned, we will NOT be back & future patrons beware!

Too slow. Didn’t come back to for drink refills. The food was good, but the servers seemed to have better things to do like reading their cell phones.

Benchwarmers is a great place to hang out with friends for lunch or dinner. The food has always been served promptly, very generous portions, and good service. I like coming for lunch or dinner, and the deck is fun for evenings in the summer.
They have a couple different rooms, one is a sports bar, usually loud and lots of activity. The other is a traditional dining room, quieter, easier for conversing and I find it more relaxing. Both lead to the deck area.
The spinach artichoke dip is wonderful! Great burgers and bar food, and the salads are a meal in themselves. We’ve been here for business lunches, birthday parties in the banquet room, casual dinners, and years ago (before DeMotts took over), we had our wedding reception here!
This is a great place to hold a party for up to about 150 people, because no one has to drive home after the party… they have a motel too. Friendly people, good food, fun atmosphere… what else could you want?

Went here for dinner and ordered a Burger. Requested it be well done and it came out still mooing. Waiter was very apologetic and took it back and they made me another one that came out perfect. A+ for service!

The restaurant is called Benchwarmers. They have a good menu and the food is well-​prepared. My wife usually orders a gyro while I particularly enjoy the Cherry chicken Alfredo. They have a bar separate from the restaurant that is popular with the locals.

I’m losing reasons for giving this place any more chances. We bought pizza from a nearby location and I thought a order of fried mushrooms to go with it sounded very good. History of this one dish is as follows. For around $ 4 when we first tried the fried mushrooms we got a dinner box full of these delicious mushrooms. Over the last couple of years we got the same box but less and less mushrooms which taste wise are pretty good. This last time (last night) I ordered them and it came to $ 5.31. They brought out a hamburger size box with half a handful of mushrooms. I complained and they did throw in a few more almost making it a handful, This portion is at best ¼ the size of their original portion they first served at a 25% higher price. I can’t say I won’t ever try this place again (living here there are not many choices) but its the last time I let them rip me on the mushrooms much like their poor portions of onion rings my original assessment detailed.

We went to benchwarmers because two people recommended it. It was just okay. The bar is a mess behind and you can’t see what liquor they have because it is covered up with other garbage. The iced tea was tea that was warm in a jug in the back room. They have a bunch of random stuff on there walls and in the ceiling but it was just messy looking. I ordered the French dip and the meat was lacking flavor, and the au jus was just watered down beef broth that was almost clear, it was not flavorful at all. That was not au jus. My wife got the nachos which she liked but she had too scrape the salt off the chips because it was overwhelming. But it was loaded up with meat and liquid cheese. The bar tender barely was in the room and when he did come back he reeked of smoke. This palace could use a thorough cleaning, and also some help decorating. I don’t think I will ever go back.
