This is obviously a well-beloved local hangout, precisely the reason why my family and I came in the first place. We were told that the burgers are THETHING to get here, so that’s exactly what we did! And the prices were almost funny at how inexpensive it was– 3 $ for a ¼lb burger with as many toppings as you want. They had other options for sandwiches too, like grilled/fried chicken, the Sandusky-famous perch sand which, and Reubens. Honestly, just stick with what you hear and order the burger! It came out on tiny little styrofoam plates– probably to make the burgers looks bigger– and they looked just as good as burger on the menu advertised. The patty was delicious, juicy, and fresh. The fries were ok, and I don’t think they’re worth the $ 2.25 extra fee. The onion rings were a hearty size and the onions were sweet. The back of the restaurant had the makings of a very informal/casual family reunion setup: a sand volleyball court, corn hole, and picnic tables, with food catered by the tavern! In the end, this is a local bar that happens to have really, really, good burgers.

Great atmosphere! Definitely a bar where the locals come. It’s a «everyone knows your name» kind of place. Our waitress Allison was great! Prices were perfect for the venue.(¼ pound burger $ 3.25, fries $ 2.25) Burger was good, sauerkraut balls(sauerkraut, cream cheese & fried!) great! They also host a volleyball league — games on Wednesday nights.(Sandy volleyball area out back!)

I love to eat local when visiting a new place. I’d heard about the great burgers here… but I don’t eat beef. I opted for the pork sandwich, my bf had the burger, and we shared appetizers. It was all delicious! The place was pretty dead when we got there since it was a little early for happy hour or evening drinking. However, the bartender was great — both service & friendliness. Please go here instead of some awful chain restaurant.

Good food(although not much selection). Cheap drinks– best prices in town. Super nice staff! Jukebox with some quality classic rock tunes, free popcorn, and pool tables. Never too crowded, but always a few people there. Great party during OSU Michigan game. Go check it out– it’s worth it!
