Sadly this restaurant closed. It was great for my favorite veal dish. :(

Terrible! I was there on Small Business Saturday and it should have been out of business. There were about three tables in the main room with patrons and then there was a private room full off the bar area. I say at the bar. Service was slow I had clam chowder it was like warm and watery. The ravioli. The sauce was not hot enough. It tasted ok but was not good. It seemed like the bar tender was also the cook as he was away more than he was at the bar. Will not be returning.

I have been a loyal patron of Alessandria since it was at its Plano location. I am not exaggerating when I say that they have the best Italian food I have EVER had. I made a point to order a different dish each time I visited, and so far, I have enjoyed each one that I have tried. My favorite is anything with their tomato cream sauce; it is so delicious that I can’t imagine ever eating Italian anywhere else. When I do try another Italian restaurant, I always find myself comparing them to Alessandria, and the others always fall short. Their bread is awesome. Their soups are amazing. The service has always been excellent. When I read the scattered reviews of others who didn’t have a good experience, I am at a loss to explain, because I have never had anything but the best service. I live in Oswego, and although we don’t get out to Sandwich as often as we’d like, we still make the long trip in order to enjoy our favorite Italian restaurant. My hope is that Alessandria will be able to open other locations with the same expertly prepared menu and great service. I want everyone to be able to discover and enjoy this gem as much as my family and I do. They deserve all the accolades they receive; they are truly a dining diamond in the western suburbs.

From the outside you wouldn’t think this place was good, but it was AWESOME and the service was great too!

Truly the masters of Veal or Chicken Parmegiana and at a great price to boot! I just celebrated my birthday here last night with my family and everyone at the table loved their meals. The portion size is good so I usually have to take some home as it is just too much to eat at once. Wow what a great leftover meal though — it doesn’t get much better than this!

If I have a lot of 5-​star places, it’s only because we dine at GREAT places!
We’ve been dining with Alessanrdia’s even when they were still in Plano. A good place for great Italian comfort food! I had to take half the Chicken Parmesan home — and I’m a good eater! if you haven’t been here, you are missing something special!

We arrived at 4:55 pm on a Monday night and we were seated promptly. The dining room lacks atmosphere, no candles and dead silent until 6:10 pm when somebody remembered to turn the music on. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our order, salads came 15 minutes later and when dinner did arrive it was disappointing. We both had veal and it was tough and inedible really, the calamari appetizer was rubbery and inedible as well. I didn’t see anyone there that was even remotely Italian, we won’t be back.

Loved the Rigatoni DeMadera when they were in Plano, now it is the Country Rigatoni. Great food!

Phenomenal dining, true Italian can go toe to toe with big city restaurants. Don’t miss 2 for $ 20 Tuesdays. Quality experience, don’t miss!

Oh no! Another one bites the dust! We finally visited the new Sandwich location. Odd ambiance, it felt like eating in a VFW hall. Not decorated nicely like the old location was.
The service was still great. Same good bread. This was the first time ever we were not happy with our food. Not good. Hubbys long time favorite menu item wasn’t even on the menu anymore. I ordered the special, a seafood pasta, counting on the seafood always being good there in the past. Nuh-​uhhh. It was a watery mess.
Not sure if it is the same owners? I don’t really see how it could be, it was so different. So sad!

I got a coupon for $ 10 off dinning in of $ 25 or more so thought I would check it out.
Hidden at the Sandwich Golf Course this place has a great ambiance and overlooks the tucked about golf course. Very casual but food was great and waitstaff for knowledgeable and friendly.
I had the Veal Parm which was well prices and had two very large cuts that tender and prepared by a professional. The fresh bread before the meal was also tasty, just don’t fill up so you can enjoy the meal.

This place has such good food I had to change my review from 4 to 5 stars. SOOO good and great prices. They moved their location to the Edgebrook golf course in Sandwich IL and if you didnt know it was there you wouldn’t know because there is no sign outside but I am sure they will change that. The inside still looks the same and again, the food is SOOOO GOOD! If you live in the Yorkville/​Plano/​Sandwich/​Somonauk area you need to go!
