I absolutely LOVE Café Chew. The atmosphere is great, the service is terrific, and the food choices are unique but not intimidating. Breakfast and lunch options are great and the coffee bar is wonderful.

I have eaten here a few times, today I had the Chili, I was surprised for $ 8 no cheese, sour cream or diced onion. When I asked if there was cheese, the response was no we charge extra for cheese! The Chili was kinda OK, not the best, this place has no service, you seat yourself(if you can find a table! order your own food and clean up after yourself!) Hum ! not a fan, if Chili was $ 5 – 6 with diced onions and some cheese it would be good. Good Luck Café Chew!

The best food in town. fresh and delicious breakfast foods, sandwiches, salad, soups. wonderful baked goods, great coffee. I have breakfast or lunch here several times a week. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the jazz music is delightful, and the owner and servers get to know you by name if you become a regular. I love Café Chew! My only regret is that it closes at three. I’d definitely come in for soup, salad, and a sandwich for dinner if they were open later!

My favorite restaurant in Sandwich — if not the entire Cape — to eat both breakfast and lunch. My family visits The Chew weekly and is always more than happy to be greeted by the excellent staff, along with the always helpful and energetic owner Tobin! Some favorites include the Autumn salad, Ambrosia Tea, California BLT, and just about every pastry behind the counter. I don’t think I could ever get bored of eating at The Chew or the wonderful atmosphere that Tobin and Bob have created!

Very good sandwiches. Very busy spot. The word is definitely out that the food is goo here. I got the special, which was pork sliced, slaw and cucumber with a Vietnamese sauce. The flavor and pairing was great. The ciabatta bread was warm and soft. I would recommend this place for lunch.

Absolute best brunch on Cape Cod, hands down. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, it’s all delicious! The owners are super sweet and friendly and it’s clear they genuinely love what they do and have poured a ton of passion into their restaurant.

Stopped in for a salad, forgetting how pricey the place is and how curt one particular cashier is… salad was a bit wet and some old pieces. The tuna salad was white albacore and good. Loved the pumpkin seeds. It’s a cute spot but …

Great food! Pretty healthy and nutritious. Well presented and full of flavored and textures that make it all the more interesting. It is casual dining. Order at the counter but delivered to your table. The owner is apparently from Ohio or maybe Vermont and has imbued the place with a sort of funky ease that I think is probably attractive to both libertarians and liberals alike.

I have no idea why this place is so poppin! The sandwiches are mediocre but not terrible. The wait line to order was about 15 minutes. Lines out the door! The place was jam packed. They have seating all over and around the shop. Front door seating, back door seating and indoor seating. The decoration of this place is very cool, cute and rustic looking. There is a cute little garden by the backdoor seatings. Tho it was a bit windy that day my napkins and bag of chips was flying all over the place when we sat outside. The service took a while, about a 20 minute wait for a sandwich. They have fountain drinks and bottled drinks. A good selection of sweets and cookies. Prices were somewhat reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would come back and try something else only of the line wasn’t so long.

Great place but was a little mislead. Went once for breakfast and it was wonderful. We came back on a weekend since it said brunch we assumed they would serve pancakes and other breakfast items after noon. Food is delicious and patio is lovely, but a heads up on menu changes for breakfast/lunch instead of listing it as brunch would have saved us a trip. Definitely go here if you want a variety of breads, baked goods, twists on breakfast favorites and a little extra compared to standard breakfasts and sandwiches.

Being across the street from my work, I frequented this lunch spot despite my initial poor experience(see previous review of the Asian salad). Thank goodness I did, because I became addicted! And the service was so quick it became a staple in my weekly routine. You can call in your order and pick up in about 10 minutes, they are one quick bunch in there. First off I loved their coffee — they make everything from hot and iced coffee to espresso and lattes, and my personal favorite the dirty chai latte(hot or iced). It’s much fresher and less watered-down than Marylou’s so I was SO happy to have found it. Next, all of their salads are huge and filling, and the Greek salad is one of the best I’ve ever had. I added chicken and the salad is otherwise loaded with the good stuff — tons of chopped tomatoes(I love how tiny they were minced!), red onion, and lots and lots of delicious feta cheese. Sometimes I’d even use tortilla chips to scoop up what was leftover after I ate all the chicken and lettuce. So filling, so delicious, and you will not leave here hungry. All the paninis and sandwiches I tried were wonderful as well, so I’m glad I didn’t let my one sad salad get in the way of my love affair with café chew. Not sure when I’ll be back on the cape, but if I’m in sandwich for lunch I will definitely be heading here!

We have a summer home in Sandwich. I love spending time there and often bring food to cook at the house. However, we decided to rent bikes and ride the Canal. Which was beautiful and really worked us into a hunger. Café Chew was exactly what I needed! It looked like a great Café from the Berkshires. The food was fresh and over-flowing off the plate. I do wish they had a few more vegan and gluten free options, but my salad was great and my boyfriend loved his sandwich. We sat in the bush lined front yard under the umbrella. I was really happy when I left there. I highly recommend this place for brunch or lunch!

One of my favorite breakfast spots! Fun friendly service! Lots of options for seating. Choose from inside with intimate tables or a breakfast bar overlooking bird friendly gardens, front patio or back yard garden. But the best thing about café chew is the food! The counter staff totally understood this vegans vibe and worked with me to create a yummy veggie wrap with a breakfast salad! I will return and I suggest you do too!

Wonderful staff and yummy breakfast. Breakfast burrito and pancakes are food. French toast — though — is a must!

We got two breakfast sandwiches to go here – both were amazing! However, the reason we got it to go was because we were completely confused about the seating situation at this place. But that’s ok, since we weren’t looking to spend a leisurely morning at breakfast. The iced coffee was great, too. Oh, and the little to-go boxes were adorable.

We stopped by here for lunch after seeing all the great reviews on Unilocal.I got the Bavarian sandwich, which was delicious. I thought that the cranberry chutney was the best part of the sandwich, though everything was very good. My only nit-picky complaint is that the pretzel roll was a little too much on the«roll» end of the spectrum, rather than on the«pretzel» end, but that is based on my personal preference. The Cape Cod chips on the side were a nice touch. If you are going to have a sandwich in Sandwich, might as well have Cape Cod chips in Cape Cod!

Great service — all staff was extremely friendly! The food was good as well. While nothing fancy, the sandwiches hit the spot. I also tried some of their baked goods, such as the zucchini walnut bread, a popular item there. We came for lunch around 2p, and they had already gone through two loaves of the bread. I see why, as the bread was wonderful — not too sweet and something on the healthier side with the zucchini and walnuts. Lastly, the Cape Cod potato chips. Though these can be found anywhere, it was icing on the cake to have in Cape Cod.

What a delicious little find! I was in a girlfriends wedding this weekend in sandwhich and she suggested this place the day prior for lunch. I had the Tuscan, which was a caprese sandwhich panini and it was delicious! It came with a side of cape cod potato chips and a pickle. As I treat I got a mint brownie which took me the entire afternoon to eat(slowly). The following day we stopped by again as we were doing wedding prep and I grabbed the caprese sandwich, good and the bread was delicious. But the bread to sandwich ratio was too big. Although I loved both bread and sandwich I would’ve preferred this on a different bread. Again, chip and a pickle(yummy)!! And for today’s great I got the Chew Bar which was a marshmallow, butterscotch and caramel treat that was so yummy and big that I did not finish it before the wedding that evening. The following morning, hubby and I were going to travel further into the cape to our favorite brunch location, but our mothers wanted us home for Mother’s Day. We decided to go to the Chew AGAIN as I had already been twice and knew they were delicious. I got the Cody which was an egg, cheese(Vermont cheddar) and bacon sandwich. I added a green apple and had a fruit salad on the side. Hubby got chicken Apple sausage, bacon, eggs and home fries. Super yummy! I grabbed decaf and regular iced coffee both times I went and it was great flavor!(Free refills as well). This place is a definite must and after having tried every meal(haha) I would give it a few thumbs up!

So good! the seasonal salads are amazing and so is the chicken salad! everything is made to order and with a healthy, spunky kick. Not your average sandwich joint, but an amazing one! For breakfast, the omelet with andouille sausage and caramelized onions was great. Smoked salmon plate and huevos rancheros were also good. Try the outdoor patio!
