Dexter Grist Mill is one of the oldest operating mills in the United States, and evidently one of the most photographed spots in Sandwich. It’s a small local attraction, so if you happen to be in the area, I’d stop by. Admission to the mill, which still works, is around $ 3. They’ll tell you all about how the mill works, which is cool from a historical standpoint — it is from the mid-1600s and was restored to operating conditions in the 1960s. Also pick up some of the locally stone-ground corn for $ 5/bag. It makes excellent polenta and grits!
