Today, I stopped at Johnny K’s and decided to go through the drive through for some ice cream. There were two cars ahead of me in line. The first car must have ordered dinner for 12. Instead of asking the first car to pull ahead and wait, we sat for 10 minutes with no movement in the line. I finally pulled out of line and went inside to get our order. There were two girls behind the counter who were getting orders but not in any particular rush. I waited at the counter for 2 – 3 minutes and neither one even glanced in my direction. The last two times, there were just kids running the place and the customer service was awful. I won’t be back again.

Been to the drive thru now twice. They were pretty slow the first time to just get a hot dog and fries so it took a few months before I would come back. This time was quick, Friendly, I did not have to explain what Chicago style was and the dog was great. Never been asked my choice of buns before, but the plain makes things easier if scarfing down whilst driving. I would recommend.

He food here is great! By the customer service is horrible. I waited 15 minutes for 2 burgers and fries. I you go through the drive thru, it takes forever till they even come get your payment. Then no one updates you on your order. I don’t mind waiting if I know it’s all fresh, but at least let me know you’re not just ignoring me.

ok this is not Gene and Jude’s or Jonny’s or Ports, but it’s in Sandwich and it’s not to bad. hotdog and fries are good. Burgers aren’t bad. Italian beef is ok. Give it a try.

I have driven by this place a few times now and couldn’t decide if it was something to check out or not. There always seemed to be some people in the parking lot or using the drive thru. I really wanted some ice cream the other night and decided to give it a whirl. I went through the drive thru and it was quick and easy. The girl took my order immediately and I really only had to wait for the customers in front of me to receive their food. I only ordered a chocolate malt shake(small) and the total came to $ 3.73. It was a good size and at first taste delicious malty chocolate heaven. The more I drank it, the less malt flavor I received and it slowly became a chocolate shake. I’m not sure if they didn’t mix the malt in good enough or just didn’t put enough in. Either way, it was decent but I’ve had better. The menu has a wide variety of items on it(gyros, hot dogs, burgers and apparently they used to have tamales) so with that in mind, who knows what’s really good on the menu. I can’t say if I’ll be back or not.

The Hubby and I were out in Macomb, IL for the weekend and decided to drive home on Rte. 34 instead of the highway. We got hungry around Sandwich and went to Johnny Ks because besides that we saw a McDonalds and a Taco Bell/KFC combo. Johnny Ks was new. Or so we thought. It was just like the food we order when we feel like being lazy at home. Oh well, we’ll give it a try. I got a burger. All of the toppings(cheese, bacon, mayo, ketchup and onions) were on the very middle of the burger making the entire outside dry and lacking flavor since the meat wasn’t seasoned. Then there was so much in the middle it was squirting and dripping everywhere. My plain fries were okay. The Hubby got a couple hotdogs which he liked, and cheese fries which he did not. I can safely say that this was our last stop at Johnny Ks. Next time we make the drive we will stop elsewhere. Though one thing Johnny Ks had going for it is that it was open. Many of the restaurants we passed on our drive through rural IL were not open on Sundays.
