I bought a groupon to take aerial yoga class at this studio, and I was so glad I did. The studio is clean and quiet and the instructor, Sarah was very patient and reassuring. Aerial yoga can be a little intimidating at first and she made me feel safe and capable of all of the positions.

I think it says something about this yoga studio that I drive just over an hour to get to it. Being new to northern Virginia I’m trying to find a yoga studio that feels like a second home. Yin yang is a beautiful studio and carries that sort of feeling. They offer a variety of classes, one of which is becoming an addiction for me. Aerial yoga is slowly starting to spread across the states and yin yang offers it a few times a week. If you’re new to yoga I recommend taking a few beginner classes first just so you get the hang of the flow and the name of the postures. Then definitely check out their aerial yoga class. It’s so much fun! I’ve been able to get into poses deeper and stretch further. Cherie is an amazing instructor, just listen to her and she will guide you into poses that you wouldn’t think possible.

I love these guys! Recently moved to town and was ecstatic to find a yoga studio that was a mile away. I am new to vinyasa(but practiced bikram for a couple years), but all the classes I’ve been to have been very accommodating to newbies. I started on a Mixed Level class and then decided(smartly, I must say) to take a few beginner’s classes — where they tend to explain more in-depth and also focus on breathing correctly. I think I’ll continue to alternate Mixed w/Beginners for a while. Their beginner’s package also offers something like $ 49 for a month — unlimited. That’s amazing! Coming off of bikram, it took me a minute to adjust back to having music and scents and om’s and jokes. This place feels like a bunch of familiars in a good way. Easy smiles and good times. Definitely a fan.

Studio a bit hot. Body flow class was fun. This is a really nice and friendly yoga studio in an old house in the semi-country. It’s right next to the Olney Ale House. They have a beginner’s package — I think it’s $ 30 for two weeks. They also have discount classes on Fridays and some during the week. There is also a free meditation class on Wednesday nights. Can you think of a better way to cap off Hump Day? My Friday Body Flow class was taught by the very cool and mellow Taylor. I liked her because I am a yoga novice and she wasn’t too«namaste» for me, if you know what I mean. Luckily my class only had two people attending, me and someone who was undoubtedly better at yoga than me. I chose the Body Flow because it is a combination of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates, with a 10 minute meditation at the end. This really worked for me. I tend to like the Pilates better than the yoga so I was happy to have a whole section devoted to it. The Tai Chi felt completely awkward, in that all I could think of was«Middle aged white woman attempting to look like Mr. Miyagi.» But I love to learn new things, so I am sure, at some point, the movements will become more natural. The yoga stuff wasn’t bad. It, as the name flow would indicate, was a lot of movement. The Pilates was great. I wish there was more. They do have a Mat Pilates class on Tuesdays, which someday I may make! All-in-all for a first ever yoga class at a «real» yoga studio(as opposed to the gym) this was pretty darned good. And waaaaaay better than marching myself through a music blaring workout room to cram myself into an overcrowded gym yoga class. Namaste(oops, did I say that?)
