I was soo hyped about getting some of their food… Im from NY and the folks down here said it was great. Welll… the portion size was kinda small for the price, i had oxtails they were OK but nothing to go crazy about… it needs more spice… it didnt come with plantains… disappointing. My husband had the stew chicken it was good need a lil more gravey so we mixed the two… i gave him my oxtail gravey for the stew and that made it very good… overall its ok, if your west indian you know what food is suppose to taste like you wont be impressed.

The curried shrimp roti is amazing. The drinks are amazing. Basically this entire establishment is amazing. BUT, if you order dessert for takeout, be warned that it might be microscopic in size. Delicious, nonetheless.

Definitely worth a visit! You have the option of dining at either the lounge(just as you enter) or the restaurant(to the left). We chose the lounge to kick back, enjoy some dinner and the NBA Finals. The lounge is cool, you have the option to sit at the bar, high chairs or some comfortable leather sofas and surround yourself with the pulsating beats by the DJ. Surprisingly, I didn’t get anything out of the Caribbean corner. I had the BBQ Spare ribs served nice and hot… omg it was beyond scrumptious, especially the collard greens. My husband had the Mango chicken(which he had before and loved so much that, he had to have it again). We had the Caribbean Lovers and the Caribbean Hurricane to drink, which was a good blend. We were very pleased with our meals and drinks. While our waitress was friendly, we did have a bit of a wait after being seated, something we observed that others who were seated after us also had a problem with and opted to move over to the restaurant area. I have been to Chef Rob’s on several occasions now and I have not been disappointed at all. On the lounge side and to dine in. I tell everyone about his restaurant. The staff is always courteous & knowledgeable. This is my go to when I have visitors and we have time to go out. Keep up the excellent work!

Like previous reviews have mentioned, the food here is over-priced for the small portions. I had the curry goat and jerk chicken combo. Neither was anything to write home about. It came with red beans and rice and vegetables. The waitress was nice and attentive and the food came out pretty quickly. I wouldn’t spend my money here, but wouldn’t turn down a free meal.

The food was okay. I had a grilled chicken patty melt on marble rye and seasoned fries. The toast was a little burnt and I could taste it. It was still edible and I didnt complain to waitress about the taste. I also tasted my friends oxtails and rice and another friends crab fingers and both were just okay too. Nothing too brag about or nothing that will make me go back.

Omg! So good. The seafood dip was better than sex! The. We had the oxtail and jerk chicken/shrimp pasta. We will be eating here everyday. I let Lisa choose my food and she hit a home run.

Waited for an hour to get food. Food was cold when served. Waitress has bad attitude. Quite expensive for the quality. Not recommended for anyone.

Came here with my friend. Ox tail and jerk was good. Would come again if I’m in the area. Will be checking out the music in the near future. Next time will be trying the curry chicken.

I went here NYE, and I was very please with the derives and drinks. The crowd was not overwhelming, it was nice and intimate. I definitely like the vibe here!

Their jerk wings are amazing! I stopped by with a coworker for a weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a jerk chicken caesar salad, which wasn’t too spectacular, but decent. My buddy ordered the jerk burger with sweet potato fries, which was also good, but nothing special. Seems like we ordered the wrong things, and I will definitely be back. ORDERTHEWINGS! Service– Great! The chef brought out all of our food and came back plenty of times Environment– Typical Carribean décor but felt relaxed. There seems to be a club/lounge connected to the restaurant for nights, but drink prices seem a bit steep. Food– Wings wings wings– everything else ok, but didn’t order«carribean» items like oxtail

Based on my experience, the service is hit or miss and the food portions are more like rations. The prices approach the high end of $$ which is uncommon for Caribbean food in this type atmosphere. The jerk seasoning and marinade on the chicken was flavorful, while the cabbage and other veggies were over cooked and unremarkable. They have some creative menu choices, but I’m not willing to eat a turkey burger plus some of the other choices were too expensive. And to add to the experience, they don’t even honor the Unilocal check in offer for 1 free cocktail. The server made it seem like I was being a cheap ass when I expressed how I felt. She said«if you really want a drink, that offer shouldn’t stop you.» I wordsmithed my way around a few curse words and politely inform her that the principle of the matter was more important than the drink! Not a fan of the building layout as it doesn’t allow servers or patrons to move about efficiently. Moral of the story is if you have to eat this, get it take out. You will enjoy the small bites of chicken, but everything else is not remarkable. At this price point, I would recommend a trip to the SoNo district on the edge of Midtown to a place called Negril Village.

Meh. Not sure I can do this place any longer. We used to come here for lunch when I used to work in the area years ago. And I’m glad to see they are still going. I was recently here for a dinner for a friend who is leaving the city soon. And to say I was shocked by the pricing is an understatement. I love Jamaican food. Love it. It’s in my blood. Some good eats can be found around the city. Chef Rob’s is decent but not $ 17 brown stew chicken decent. My blood was appalled. I just can’t justify spending this much for Jamaican eats — not that it can’t be fancy but there’s not much change to the dish itself. If there is, I can’t tell. And I’ve had far better versions of the food at half the cost. Most of the entrees were above that price, starting around $ 16-$ 17+. There are appetizers(that are pretty good) and a full bar available as well. Again, I found everything a bit overpriced. I don’t mind paying for good food but it has to show. Given our very large group and my previous history with slow as mud service with them, I was impressed with the service we received. They were very attentive and handled everything efficiently. Kudos to the staff! But, that was probably my last time visiting Chef Rob’s.

This place is seriously overrated. I went today for lunch and while the food was delicious the portions were horrible. I got oxtail and jerk chicken. They gave me 3 small pcs of oxtail and ½ of a thigh and ½ of a leg for $ 17. The combo with r&ps and vegetables all fit on a glorified saucer(not plate) that my food came on. The service was kind but very slow. Had to wait long periods for everything food, condiments, re-fills etc. Then top it all off with 18% gratuity added to my check for a party of 2 — NEVERSEENTHATBEFORE… I WON’T BEBACK!!!

Thanks fellow Unilocalers 4 yr reviews on this place! I had a training class n the area & looked 2 my Unilocal app 4 lunchtime suggestions. I easily found this place. Great location 4 the kind of establishment they are operating, however, my to-go order took 4ever. I only had an hour 4 lunch &40 minutes of it was spent waiting on a bland, 2 hot 2 eat jerk chicken & shrimp pasta dish. They took so long I had time 2 leave, go 2 a nearby consignment store & drop items off, return & still wait. If yr looking 4 staff w/good attitudes & good food this is NOT your place.

First of all, let me just say that the food was really good. I had the jerk chicken with plantains and my partner had the fish and chips. So why the two stars then? The service we had tonight was absolutely horrible. We arrived a little before eight, but didn’t start eating until 8:40pm. Our fish and chips came out in a timely manner, but it took another 15 minutes before my dish came out, and that was only after we experienced some really poor service. When the fish and chips first came out, we thought to wait maybe two or three minutes for the other dish. Then it took longer. And our waitress either didn’t notice or was deliberately ignoring us or both; however, a few other wait staff came by and one of the cooks(I think) also came by to check up on us, all with different stories about what happened to my dish. Supposedly my dish was:(1) given to another customer;(2) completely forgotten; and(3) just sitting in the kitchen. Everyone was blaming everyone else, and our final culprit was«the people responsible for bringing the food out.» But no one said who that was! No one brought anyone out to talk to us. We were just told to talk to X/Y/Z(implying that we had to find these people ourselves). Throughout all of this, our waitress seemed to be rather oblivious to such an obvious mistake. She treated it as if it was not a concern. When we asked to speak with the manager, we were told the manager was not present. No wonder it wasn’t a concern. I’m so disappointed by everything except the food. I told the waitress there was no way I would ever return; it was such a poor, embarrassing, stressful event. I meant it. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

I was not as blown away as I had hoped but the meal was and just maybe I would have liked it more if it were not forced on me. Here’s my story. You know how Delta offers a random service for their most valued customers in which someone arrives at your gate with a sign with your name on it and usher you from the jet bridge down the stairs to a luxury vehicle and then drives you to your next gate or with a long layover to the nearest SkyClub? Well, when my father, brother and youngest nephew picked me up from the airport in «my» rental vehicle, this was the closest I will probably ever get to preferential treatment. Now, because I am a kid sister, I interpreted this gesture to mean I needed to be less than selective about my first meal. That said, a certain person decided we would eat here because of their oxtails. I’m a southern belle to the core and am pretty adventurous when it comes to cuisine, but I opted against ordering the main draw. It was my first and more than likely my last time trying any entrée with oxtails. I tried it but, opted for a jerk chicken/curry chicken combo and a Blue Hawaiian. The chicken entrees were what I had hoped but the drink was an order I ultimately regretted. If in the area, definitely a place to visit. I would have to have a second visit before recommending someone travel 30 minutes or more to dine here.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while so since I was in the area, I did! I did takeout right as they opened for the day. I ordered the jerk turkey burger, which comes with sweet potato fries. it was pretty delish! I brought it back to work with me and my coworkers kept talking about how good it smelled. The burger definitely had a kick to it with all the jerk spices and I liked the fries. I will definitely be back when I am back on this side of town.

Eating at Chefs Rob is a delicious experience of you are looking for authentic Caribbean cuisine. I love the environment the is a restaurant side and a lounge vibe next door. It’s not too many Caribbean lounge spots in Atlanta is this is a great one. I ordered the Oxtails Entrée, comes with Rice and Peas and Steamed Veggies. You don’t have to worry about this being Americanized. Chef Rob the owner has really made sure the spot serves authentic Caribbean entrée with a grown and sexy vibe. Great date night or girls night spot. Thursday’s are Comedy nights(Free) starting at 9pm. So if you are looking for good food mixed with entertainment this is a perfect spot. Also free parking!

The Caribbean food here okay. It’s a restaurant up front, but then in the back is a lounge area that gets started later in the evening. I have to say that service is kinda slow here and I went when it wasn’t even that busy. However, the server was very nice and checked on us appropriately. Also, I find that the prices are a bit high and the portions sizes don’t account for it. I really enjoyed the fish fritters, which were served in a sweet sauce with a spicy kick. I have to say, though, that a bit more fish was needed. I also had a shrimp pasta dish that was okay. I’ll probably be back to try some other more traditional Caribbean dishes. Also, I’d like to do the lounge experience. This restaurant is located in the shopping center down from Egg Harbor and there is plenty of parking available. I noticed a couple of tables outside if one wanted to eat outdoors. Done for now.
