If I could give negative stars I would. I just saw a women standing inline at the counter for about 20 mins waiting on a women to come back to help her. Another 20 mins later she went to ask when the lady (employee) was coming back. You know that every person who she talked to got a attitude… Omg I couldn’t believe it. They (her name is Ashley) were pretty much acting like the lady was crazy, telling her that she was wrong and that they never called her to that line because it’s been closed for 2 hours and whatnot and even my sister went up with her to the counter to say yes she was standing here and yes her number was called it was on the board we all saw it, so why complain? Why the shitty attitude? Why not just have her go next? Why have her wait again for another ten minutes? … These people at this job need a attitude adjustment, you are in Costumer service ??? I guess that means nothing to them, one of the lady’s who I think is the manger got the worst attitude

Complete incompetence. The state of Georgia should be embarrassed for having such a poor run operation.
Poor customer service, random cut off times for driver permit tests almost an hour earlier than the published time of 11:30am.
Your government in action… it is worse than you hear. Get your act together government slugs.

It was good. A lot of customers but not a lot of staff.

I’ve heard so many horror stories about experiences at the DMV, so I was prepared for at least a 2 hours wait. Well, from the time I arrived to sitting in my car to leave, it. took 30 minutes. This location it run very very efficiently. The workers were knowledgeable and gave excellent customer service. One word of advice, please pre-​apply on-​line before you get there. I think that and having all required paperwork was the key to a very pleasant experience.

At some point the DMV decided to turn it around and start giving a damn about efficiency and customer service. This place really shows it. My number was called as soon as it spit it out, so I didn’t have time to fill the paperwork. No big deal, guy told me what and how to do it and to just come back and see him. Done in 20 minutes. If anyone is old enough to have been to a DMV 10+ years ago you know this is crazy. You used to clear a day for a visit to the DMV! Pretty good, for government work.

This place sucks, had to wait more than one hour to renew my license, and the one who stood next to the machine was unfriendly, hope I wouldn’t have to get there again.

This place sucks. Been waiting an hour and the place is still packed. Employees stand around and talk to each other a lot… I don’t understand all the positive reviews from before. Talking to people this is the norm…
Update…I called the district manager about the service levels, he totally took care of the situation. Asked us to come back (which sucked) but we were in and out in 15 min. So nice ending.

No one likes going to the DMV, but this location makes the errand bearable. Very pleasant employees, which makes a huge difference.
They are open from 7:30am-6pm Tuesday-​Friday and until noon on Saturday. As with most DMVs, they’re usually slammed when the doors open, but by around 8:30am the crowd has thinned. They have 15 – 20 desks (I’m pretty sure at least half of them were manned), making it quick and easy to speak with someone. There’s a person at the door directing traffic and she basically lets you know if you need to fill something out on one of their computers (or your phone) before speaking with a representative. This person also checks to make sure you have your documents with you (SS Card, passport, proof of address, current license, etc.) so you don’t waste your time sitting in a chair only to find out later that you’re unprepared.
I needed to get my license renewed and had brought all my paperwork with me. I was asked to fill out a form which only took about 5 minutes and then I was given a number. My number was called within 10 minutes of me sitting there. (9am on a Thursday.) The woman at the desk was polite, took my paperwork and a photo and I then I was done! No need to bring a book!
I went to this same location for my driving test to get my first license and the process was just as quick and painless. I had an appointment, but I arrived early to see if I could get a walk-​in. And I did. The «paper» part of the test was done on the computer and it took about 10 minutes. The road test was done around the parking lot of the facility and through a nearby neighborhood. The instructor was patient and I passed on my first try.
Please look out for student drivers when entering and exiting the parking lot!!!

In and out to transfer an out of state license in under fifteen minutes? Unheard of in a DMV. Excellent customer service and prompt attention. Granted, it was 10am on a weekday but there was still a lot of people there. Nonetheless, everyone working was incredibly courteous and prompt. You’ll get a temporary paper license with your permanent one coming in the mail 7 – 10 days later. Best experience I’ve ever had at a DMV.

Went to exchange my drivers license (since I’ve moved here from Cali) and was told I needed my marriage license since my last name was different on my california license, and did not match my birth certificate. Even though I’m divorced. Luckily I live 10 minutes away. Had to wait longer than expected but finally got it a straightened out. I do have to say going on a wednesday afternoon was delightful. Nothing like the California DMV. Efficient staff, protocol was put together well. One thing I would mention is that their website should inform those who have a married name to bring their marriage license, it would save alot of time for them, and saved us the frustration.

Fastest DMV experience ever. Changing out of state drivers license in less than 15 minutes?! No way. In CA would’ve taken at least 4 – 5 hours without an appointment. Pre-​fill your form online and make sure you bring all your docs for an even speedier service!

As luck would have it, I came here on what seemed like their busiest day ever. It was standing room only inside. I looked at the crowd and almost walked out, but I needed to renew my license and had actually remembered to bring all my papers proving citizenship along with a vial of blood from my firstborn. Kidding. Kinda. I asked the clerk at the front desk how long she anticipated the wait to be for someone doing a renewal. «I dunno… like 40 minutes…,» she said looking bored. I decided to stick it out since I took an extra long lunch from work to do this. I opted to wait outside since it was crazy inside. People sitting on the floor. People sleeping on the floor. This should’ve been my warning, but I opted to believe the clerk when she said 40 minutes. HA HA HA HA.
I made some friends while outside. There was a guy who was trying to get his license back after it was suspended for his 2^nd DUI. He had to run back to his mom’s house… where he’s living (he’s in his 30s)…because he forgot some paperwork. Oh, and ladies, this catch is SINGLE!
I waited and waited and waited. I went through several lives in Candy Crush. I checked Facebook a bazillion times. I got bored enough to look up on Wiki the history of unicorns. Three hours later my number was finally called.
The attendant was gruff. I was upbeat and friendly despite my long wait. He was a typical DMV employee. One word responses. No smiles. He pointed to the camera. «Look here and (SNAP!).» He caught me completely off guard. I took a look at my picture and gasped. I looked like a deer caught in headlights. I asked him if I could have a do over. He gave me an eat-$hit look that immediately made me sink back into my chair. Deer in headlights it is.
Expect a really long wait here.

Let’s see, my arrival time was at 7:52 via the ticket number they gave on Thursday April 14^th. There were handful of people ahead of us to get a ticket number, everyone looked like «this is too early to do this». A total of 2 mins to get a number after getting my documents checked and a form to fill out by the clerk.
For those who didn’t stop by the chik-​fi-​la for breakfast, there are three vending machines, two for drinks one for various snacks. Not sure of the cost.
The B restrictions licenses renewals took an average of about 6.5 mins from the stop watch app i was using on my phone. I believe those who have no restrictions (i.e. wear contacts/​glasses) are flowing faster. Wait time for my turn was about an hour in total. I decided to go for the 8 year one just to not see this place any time sooner.

So my rating of one out of five stars in no way reflects the good people who work at this location, but more so the process (es) they enforce to manage the people who are coming and going.
I had to visit this office recently to get my drivers license renewed, ’cause it’s my birthday y’all. Anyway, as I pulled up to find a parking space, there was a line wrapped around the front entrance of the building, extending outside into the parking lot. As I approached the line, I learned everyone was IN LINE WAITING TO GET IN Line… all of these people were simply waiting to «take a number».
I eventually made it through the maze of a line to the «help desk» to express why I was visiting the Georgia Department of Driver Services (to renew my license), to have my supporting documentation «approved», and to finally be assigned a number to speak to a customer service agent. So from the parking lot, to the maze of a line, to when I eventually was able to «take a number» — it took me an hour and fifteen minutes to sit down and simply wait to be called. I then waited another 20 to 30 minutes before my number was called for someone to actually help me.
Once my number was called, the process of renewing my driver’s license was a breeze.

The building is very run down and dilapidated compared to other DMV’s in the metro Atlanta area. The waiting area looks like a 1970’s movie set. The chairs are disgusting, the walls are dingy, and there’s an old smell in here. Again, I’m not expecting the Ritz Carlton; it’s the Department of Driver Services after all! However, compared to the other offices in Atlanta, particularly the Norcross office, this one it the pits.
They also have an abnodmally high wait time here too. Maybe they’re short staffed?

It took 2 hours to complete a change of address! They need to reevaluate their system because it’s flawed.
