Came by for a couple of drinks after work, ended up staying later than we expected. Bar staff were very accommodating. Food was excellent here. Will return definitely!

I went there for dinner and loved it! My server was a lady named Yayoi, and she was great! Never had an empty glass. The food was great too!

WORSTINSERVICE! I am a restaurant owner myself as well as owner of other retail stores so I am not keen on giving poor reviews, unless it is very much so deserved and this place deserves it. We have been coming to this place for 1.5 years and every time the service has been beyond horrible but continued to come here as the food is good AND in hopes that their service would improve one day. After our recent experience I will never return back here. We started the night having to wait 10 minutes and then flagging our waitress(Yayoi) down to even order our drinks(this happens every time). My husband decided to give saki a try here so we ordered a small as I was only going to have a sip to try it since I’m not too keen on saki. I had ordered a jalapeño margarita and of course in mid sentence the waitress walks away. Well when we received our bill, we noticed that we had gotten charged for a larger order of saki($ 12 vs $ 29). We brought this up to our waitress and she immediately started arguing with us stating«no you ordered the larger.» Ok so we asked for a manager. Why an upscale restaurant like this wouldn’t have a manager on duty on a busy Saturday night just baffles my mind. Even in the past when we’ve asked to speak to a manger for poor service«oh we don’t have a manager here right now.» Well then the waitress disappears for a good 5 minutes then comes back and tells us «You drank the whole thing so we can’t take it off for you.» I turned to my husband and asked if I really just heard that. So you expect the customers to guess what the difference between a small and a large is especially for someone who’s never order saki before? WOW never in the retail industry would I ever make such comments to a customer. Essentially over a $ 17 mistake they have lost a long term customer who spends at least $ 300 a month here. There are so many better sushi places in Atlanta that I don’t mind spending more money for QUALITYSERVICE!

I am so sad to only give sushi nami three stars — their food is delicious! Came in last night and had Larkland as a server for the second time. Gosh, his service is terrible! Waited forever for our drinks, never received refills on waters throughout dinner, salads came and we had no silverware/chopsticks. Sushi came and we had no plates(and still no utensils). One of the rolls had soy paper, despite not mentioning it on the menu… I happen to be allergic and when I was finally able to flag him down, he seemed annoyed at me that I couldn’t eat it! To make it worse, he asked me to take the roll off our plate so he could return it(as opposed to simply offering to replace it with something soy-free). He never made eye contact, brought us our check without asking if we wanted dessert, and was just rude from start to finish. All in all the sushi is great, but the service leaves MUCH to be desired.

Really interesting variations of rolls that I have never seen, friendly staff and some good bartenders.

I got sushi to go the other night. I had the echo bunny and the spicy shrimp tempura roll. All and all I was extremely disappointed. As soon as I opened the lid to my sushi this disgusting smell came out of very old fish. Now normally I can get past the smell and eat it, but as soon as I had a few bites I actually started heaving. It was really disappointing since I paid over $ 25 for just 2 rolls. The presentation was not great either. Disappointed and fearful to go there again.

Took my friend here for her birthday on Monday and several servers walked by us, never acknowledging us. We sat there for fifteen minutes and then left. Upon exiting, I told the hostess we were leaving because we never got greeted and she said, «I’m sorry, we’re just busy.» Horrible customer service.

The mushroom miso soup is amazing as well as the ahi poki and akami roll. Always fresh and delicious but sometimes the service can be very poor.

This is probably one of the best sushi restaurants that I have had in ATL and trust me when I say I have been everywhere! I am a die hard sushi eater and I know good sushi when I have tasted it. I have been all around the U.S. and this sushi is superb and fresh! They are a hidden gem, but they are worth it!

Food is excellent, service is a bit slow. If you are pressed for time, you may want to go elsewhere, otherwise, enjoy. The dishes I like are as follows: Ahi Poke — not authentic hawaiian, but delicious w/good presentation Katsudon — Pork Katsu Rice Bowl, supposedly a bowl that makes you feel happy according to Japanese. It works for me :) Most any sushi/sashimi combo or straight from sushi menu. Tried the ramen once, don’t remember if good, but definitely not bad.

Surprisingly nice semi-secret spot In a strip center near Northside hospital. Expecting small strip Togo style restaurant, but no… Lovely, chic, minimal interior and conversational bar… Love that! What can I say. I really enjoy having random conversations with random nice people, especially when the peeps are well-travelled or from Cali. Great local bar, excellent sushi and nice wine choices. Hear the dining room is more intimate and cozy. Love seeing one of my fave drinkable daily wines on the list. 7 deadly zins in Atl at a restaurant. That never happens! As an aside Lodi zin is some of the best. Enjoyed the Tommy Sunset, fantastic and the Psychedelic, very good no rice roll. Love the fact that there is such a roll as The Psychedelic. How fun is that?! Miguel and Alex at the bar. Intelligent, adorable… great service, convo and company. Apparently it’s not an easy feat to sit at the bar if you come later but I recommend it! I happened to pop in early on a Wednesday and Sushi Nami started filling up around 7ish. Come alone or with with your friends! Ps. Ask for spicy edamame and off menu choices.

I have been here several times, mostly because it’s conveniently located for me. I’ll attest that this place has potential, but it needs to improve its service. I have been to many sushi places in Atlanta and all over the country, and this is the slowest in terms of time to bring out your food. Can take more than 30 minutes, which is unacceptable. The biggest problem tends to stem from the sushi rolls and small plates, which can get backed up. Nigiri and sashimi usually come out much faster. Now the positives. The menu is quite extensive, so for a guy like me who likes to experiment with food outside the mainstream, that’s a big plus. The quality of the food is good, but not necessarily great. You’ll hit on most items though. Never had any issues with the servers.

Amazing, tasty innovative rolls. Recommendations(warning these aren’t the exact names): Fried California Roll Ecco Bunny? Suzanne Maui NY Strip(holy crap that’s good!!) Best uni. Great atmosphere. If you are there with a group of friends or a date… sit at the back bar and watch the sushi chefs in action! It’s a ton of fun.

Since I am working down in Atlanta for a few months wanted to start checking out some food places. This place has legit sushi! There are many unique rolls and the overall dining space is nice. There is outdoor seating, seating by the bar and also a dining room indoors located in the back of the restaurant which seems a bit more formal. Everything we ate here was good except for one roll which I didn’t love so much but can’t remember the name — will update my review later. Also I didn’t love the grilled calamari appetizer. It was served on a bed of lettuce and just didn’t seem that fresh or tasty. Super small portion as well. Probably wouldn’t go for it again. Other than that, I will return to sushi Nami again.

«If your reviews are looking like essays, start a blog. I can’t read your life story on my phone before ordering from the menu.» [Time & Date of visit]: Various weekend nights [Party Size]: 2 [Location/Ambiance]: The restaurant has an illusion of making you think the front patio and bar area with various high tables scattered that that’s all of the restaurant. I think it further adds to that image as the hostess booth is hidden behind the short front wall. The main dining room is spacious as tables for 4 as well as the long running bench seat is stretched along the wall opposite of the sushi chef’s. Nights can vary as for noise level, there may be times where it’s mid range, other times there’s a birthday party going or a large family gathering amping up the noise level. Dress code is casual, most people in suits just got of work late. [Service]: Good to great. Some servers have been excellent through the whole entire meal with attentiveness, others are just good. Though if you are sharing a server who’s also serving a large group, that could make for longer wait times on certain things. [Food Highlights]: duck with jalapeño salsa — I have a love– hate thing with the way this dish is served. It comes in a small(clay?) oven type pot with still-warm charcoal keeping the duck warm and providing more of the smoky taste. What sucks is dropping a small piece of the duck in the inlets of the grill or spilling the salsa akin to pico de gayo. Trust me just use a fork. — Worth a try, but small portions just enough for 2 – 3. Scallops — sashimi style — Tender, fresh. Not really my usual order but my bestests favorite. I believe she approves. Tempura Udon — Serving size is borderline between medium and large. Lots of broth with about 2/3rds of udon noodles to accompany it. Served separate, is the plate of three large vegetable tempura. I would suggest not to dunk all three unless you like yours a bit soggy. — ehh… ok. 12&69 sushi rolls — This will throw you off due to the aioli sauces on each piece of roll at first glance. Centered atop is a bed of seaweed salad, enough for a craving if you were going to order it as an appetizer. Good portion of salmon. Pretty tasty, with out being overly spicy, more like a mild. — Pretty tasty, worth a try. Echo Bunny — I’m a big fan of eel, and this hit the spot. 5 pieces but pretty filling. I tasted more of the eel than the soft shell crab it self. Glad the chef went easy with the eel sauce as to not over power everything. If you are with someone who can’t stomach raw stuff, this is pretty good for them to order. {Summary}: Sushi is usually very fresh tasting, though some other cooked dishes can be off point. Small plates are more like tapas size. Weekday nights are hardly ever any wait times, though service can be a little wavering at times. Worth a try.

I’m still exploring the sushi scene in Sandy Springs, but this is definitely one of the«hippest» sushi joints in town. I selected Sushi Nami Too for a girls’ night out and was not disappointed, except for maybe a tiny bit of sticker shock. They have a nice outdoor patio that will be great for the upcoming spring and summer months, but we opted to eat inside. I did make a reservation for us because I didn’t know how packed it might get on a Saturday, but at the time we arrived, it was not that crowded yet — it was fairly early, 6 pm. At first sight, the inside looked quite small, but we discovered there was a HUGE backroom that was just gorgeous. Two-story ceilings and what looked like really nice quality modern tables and chairs(yes, I notice that stuff). The ambiance was very hip, with dim lighting. It got quite loud because the restaurant filled up fairly quickly after we arrived. We ordered a couple rolls each. I chose the Mega Crunch with yellowtail and the Echo Bunny(soft shell crab topped with eel). Can I just say… YUM. The Echo Bunny was on the larger side with five big pieces, so it was hard to eat, but both rolls were so so good. Sushi Nami Too is one of the pricier sushi places. I think one roll was $ 14 – 15 and the other was $ 11 – 12.

I really enjoyed the transformation when I stepped from the main entrance and bar area to the main dining area. The room is expansive with many comfortable seating areas. I am a sucker for the cozy booths! The lighting provided a romantic atmosphere. Lining the back room was the sushi station. ==tempura calamari Lightly battered, this warm appetizer was a great treat. Be warned. The portion size is so large that it should be considered an entrée! This is enough to feed 4 – 5 women. Our trio could not finish this. It comes with spicy mayo. I am a fan of the spicy mayo but this appetizer is great by itself! ==sushi dinner for 2 This was a generous portion of 8 nigiri, 8 sashimi, a California roll with eel on top, and spicy tuna roll. There were 4 types of fish for the nigiri, with each coming in pairs. Same with the sashimi. I’m a fan of fancy sushi rolls but I thought this was decent. The nigiri came with adequate ratio of rice that was soft and balanced the flavors of the fish. Now, I do like the fancy rolls and generally avoid the common California roll. however, I must admit that I enjoyed this because of the tender eel with the delectable teriyaki sauce. I ate this slowly to savor each bite. The roll was plump, with rice perfectly cooked, and the stuffing was abundant. Spicy tuna is one of my favorites and I found this to be ok. I didn’t notice much heat to it. The rolls were cut into 8 pieces each. The dinner comes with two portions of soup or salad. We got the salad with the ginger dressing. I assumed the dressing would be mixed with a fruit juice(like orange) to give it a sweet flavor. No, it was not. The ginger was too much for me. The soup is comforting with thin slices of seaweed and some cubes of tofu. I thoroughly enjoyed this. ==uni I love uni! They did not skimp on this. I savored the creaminess of this and ignored the very slightly bitter(after) taste. ==green tea ice cream Gift for the birthday lady! Definitely taste and smell the green tea here. I give this a 4 star because I thought prices are reasonable. It was about $ 90 total for 3 people. I thought it was worth it for the quality and especially for the ambiance. Service is good. We were in and out, pretty quickly, and on time to make it to our comedy show at the Punchline.
