Dillard’s

Shopped for a men’s wear here and was impressed. While expensive (dress shirts ranging from $ 40 — $ 120+) the service was excellent. I was greeted instantly and had the most motivated, friendly and knowledgeable staff I’ve ever encountered as my own personal shopping assistant for a solid half hour. Tried on maybe half a dozen items and she was with me all the way, listening to my feedback and zipping around the store to find the perfect thing for me.

This store is seriously huge! Two floors of wall to wall clothing and apparel you can almost get lost in here. There is a giant selection here of everything that you could want to wear. The store is clean, spacious, and sales representatives are one hand to help.
Shoes:
The men’s selection is a lot smaller, but they focus on classy dress shoes. I would recommend shopping here for men’s dress shoes.
There women’s shoe section is enormous with outdoor brands like Ecco, Merrell, causal brands like Crocs and Sanuk, and other higher end brands.

Dillard’s merchandise is very well made. The building is clean, has a great design, laid back in a way that you don’t feel pressured to buy something. Plus it has a great atmosphere with music I can tolerate.
My brother, mom, and I came here the other day to buy him some cologne after being on his mission. My brother wasn’t sure of what to pick, or what brands were «in», or what the «ladies» would like. Instead of helping the guy who helped us was incredibly rude and was condescending. When we went to think about it, he sat there talking about my brother with two female coworkers. We ended up circling back around and bought it. I wanted to reach across the counter and smack him silly. He should be happy we’re buying a $ 75.00 bottle. Instead of acting like a stuck up divo.
Overall it’s a good store. It could be better. Customer Service– 0

I have to admit, I might seem kind of old fashioned when I say that if there’s one thing I have always loved and still do to this day — it’s browsing around these big department stores. Maybe it’s that mid life crisis thing everyone tells you about (or was that the wife telling me I’ve reached that, memory goes also). This reaching early 40’s bidness ain’t all it’s cracked up to be (did that make me sound younger?) so I think you start to cling to all those fun memories of these big departments stores from yesteryear’s.
Nostalgia? Sure! Snobbery? Could be, I won’t deny it, I have that streak. But most of all, I think it’s just that these places are like the key stones in a retail world that just seems to cater more and more to the «bargain basement» mentality and just seems to not actually care about «you» — the customer.
When I walk into a Dillards, it feels warm and friendly. The service is helpful and friendly too without being over bearing. You can spend 2 hours walking around enjoying all the displays and things that look cool/​fancy and that you know you don’t really need and aren’t actually really going to buy unless you walk around the entire Mall 3 times for «exercise» (it happens) while passing it off as «getting gift ideas for the holidays». We do buy holiday gifts here sometimes dammit — don’t judge me because 20% are «self» gifts for our house, I consider it as doing a service to those who choose not to get that kind of thing for us as gifts but go with the obligatory iTunes gift card instead!
Well anyway, all that diatribe aside, you probably realize I like Dillards. It’s like an old and reliable friend, and this is one of the better ones in the valley. They carry quality merchandise, and if you can be patient and wait for things to go on sale, they actually do have good deals on it too.

Very nice store! Help is knowledgeable and friendly. Step up from here is Nordstrom.

I’m a dinosaur when it comes to my nostalgia for department stores. Everything about them is passé in today’s «add to cart» online shopping world. But throwing pop culture to the wind, I still love to shop at department stores… and when I’m looking to do a little shopping, I really like Dillard’s.
I’ve been to a hand full of the Dillard’s around the Valley and I’d have to say this is probably the best one. First of all, its gigantic. Its 3 floors and was probably built 3 or 4 decades ago. It had some rad architectural features that you just don’t see on newer construction department stores. That’s probably one of my favorite things about these giant monolithic stores is the unique architecture of the older ones which were often the architecture of the preceding company that Dillard’s probably bought.
They have a huge Men’s department. There’s a big Ralph Lauren section and also a large section of the similar Dillard’s brand Daniel Cremieux. They have a large selection of contemporary clothing although the brands seem to rotate fairly often over the years. There’s plenty of suits, dress shirts and ties in the business formal section too.
The prices are department store prices, they’re retail MSRP… the exception is when they go on sale and at Dillard’s the stuff usually goes deep. I was there Saturday and bought 12 polo shirts of RL and Daniel Cremieux for less than 160 bucks all in. That’s a steal as most of them were $ 60+ retail.
The staff are what you expect of not Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus department store staff… they’re basically department baby sitters. Maybe its cause I’m young but I can’t get most of them to pay a lick of attention to me. At least not until you have a bundle of clothes in your hands and then suddenly they’re looking to help. I don’t think they’re commission but I don’t know if that makes me more disappointed in their lack of attention or it explains it.
This is the best Dillards in the Valley in selection and size. If you go in with your I don’t need any help game face on you’ll be right at home because you won’t get any. But if you’re looking for a deal, head towards the sale racks because the deals are as deep as you’ll ever normally find.

This is probably the best Dillard’s in the area. Much better selection of men’s clothing, and better staff (especially compared to the Southtown location). Good location in a decent mall with adequate parking. Not much more I could ask.

When I’m at home in Utah, this is my Dillard’s of choice. Being the Filipino that I am, I’m always looking for a bargain. When this Dillard’s puts stuff on clearance, and I’m lucky enough to be at home at the time, they have the best deals. Often they’ll put a table out where everything is a certain price point. I’ve gotten Perry Ellis and Polo dress shirts there for $ 10! YMMV, but hey, it’s a bargain, and really good quality.
