This place has been in Sandy for many years and I just haven’t been there many times. I ordered the regular chicken and brown rice, the chicken was very well seasoned, the rice was perfect the salad and pineapple garnish were presented well, it was all assembled with care. I enjoyed it and will return again for sure… I would have gave it 5 stars if the portion size was a little bigger

Just came in for some food while at DMV, ordered teriyaki beef for $ 9.25 The beef portion is a joke! There is less than quarter pound of beef that slightly covers the rice below with a slice of a pineapple and the beef has a real pungent gamey smell, it seems like the meat was just cooked with the soy sauce over a cook top, the meat was definitely not marinated at all, but it’s Sandy Oregon so I should not have expected anything more, but it was less than what I did not expect, and the meat was minced into little tiny pieces, it kind of has a rancid after taste from the meat, after just few bites it almost made me throw up, I handed the food back to the young girl at the counter and told her that was the worst teriyaki beef I’ve ever tasted and the girl just looked at me like I don’t give a damn attitude. I did not ask for and was not offered money back, turned around and was about to walk out and saw my cousin walk in, I told him about my food and he laughed and said I should know better than to ordered beef, apparently he likes their pork, maybe I will try a different item next time if I feel brave enough to eat here again. I guess I’m used to eating teriyaki beef at Joy Teriyaki in Gresham where they actually give you about a pound of beef per plate and it’s cheaper than this place and the taste is excellent! I’ve tasted some bad teriyaki in my life but this place was by far the worst, I’ve never gave the food back to the restaurant before in my life, it was that bad! So, not sure if I want to brave going back in and having them put somesing specio in da wice if they recognize me, oh-that’s the guy who gave us one star and a bad rap

Every single time I head up to the mountain, I ALWAYS make sure to stop by this place. I have ordered most of the menu, and I can say there is not a single bad thing, with the exception of the tofu. My personal favorite is the Combo Box, and the Teriyaki Beef Box. With the combo box, you get a little of everything: Chicken, Beef, Potstickers over rice. I have lived in Portland for many years. I have never had better teriyaki food, then here.

Good. Fresh. Gone! A pleasant surprise for this small town. We both ordered chicken box. Chicken was a great texture. Carrots, and apple on top a nice touch. Also had the baobun. It was good but I had hoped for a little fresher.

Checked out this place on the way to Portland from bend. Huge upgrade over the usual fast food places I eat while driving. Food was good and quick and filling. The only thing was I thought it was a little more expensive than some of the other teriyaki places I’ve been. Still worth it if you are driving through. Beats McDonald’s and taco bell, etc. For only a couple dollars more.

Great chicken teriyaki! We were served high quality, fresh chicken that was cooked perfectly. We will stop next time we are through Sandy.

Honestly, very disappointed in the quality of food. Completely overpriced for what you get. I ordered the«Teriyaki Chicken Box», which was actually just a chicken bowl. There was very little meat, mostly rice. Being from the Islands, I know good island style food and this was not it. Very poor quality for such an expensive price, was expecting much more.

I tried the $ 9 chicken yakisoba and it was really bad. The noodles were mushy spaghetti noodles, the chicken was in tiny chunks and it was so dry it tasted like it had been smoked then marinated and re-cooked, and the sauce was either old or had too much vinegar in it. I don’t recommend it.

On our way out to Bend we were starvin like marvin. We saw this place off the main road and flipped a B to go try it out.(I mean Sandy has like Mcdonalds, DQ, a donut shop, random Thai places and a Subway so this looked very appealing!) We walk in and are greeted by a nice smile by the girl at the front. We really wanted some good chicken, so we both ordered the teriyaki chicken plates with BROWNRICE(yay finally a place that has it) The chicken was moist, cooked perfectly and not fatty at all. The veggies and rice were cooked perfectly as well. Great flavors and nothing was over or under done! This was a great little healthy find on the way out of Portland, and the place was cute and staff were very nice and fast.(It wasn’t busy when we were there just for reference!) Definitely reccomend you give it a shot if you are ever passing through Sandy!

Pros: –Great and friendly service. –They have vegetarian options. –Delicious food. Fresh vegetables, the rice was done well. Chicken was delicious and tender. –Our meals were cooked very quickly. –Affordable. Cons: –I just wish that teriyaki tofu was a bit cheaper than chicken teriyaki since meat costs more. –And of course, they could work a bit more on their décor. It was cool to see they have painted their right wall, however, they could also get rid of the rest of those kitschy Hawaii inspired decorations, fake flowers & just decorate the place with some big and beautiful posters of Hawaii & Luau lamps or string lights. Less is more. Overall, me and my husband like this place. I recommend to pay it a visit. We’ve had teriyaki dishes here and there, but we both agree on Teriyaki Island being the best.

Not great :(I hate saying anything negative about any business, our service was good our young blonde server was very professional, and was straight working her ass off! There was something strange about that yukisoba we ate, portion was small for 8.75 it was gross, simply gross, and made us both sick. 30.00 for our family total bill. Service was good, food was yuk

This is hands down the worse rice bowl I have had and I have eaten alot of rice and meat bowls in my days. I paid almost $ 9 for the bowl of mostly rice that they call«the pork box». Even their rice tasted«plain» and uninteresting. Geez-how do you get rice to be soo flavorless for crying out loud?! The amount of pork in my bowl was skimpy, skant, lacking in flavor and quantity, skint, and NOTENOUGH! I was pretty pissed that I had been so taken advantage of by this rip off joint. I talk with people all day for my business and I always tell people this place sucks! Owner should be ashamed of him/herself

I was in about a month ago and the girl behind the counter was SO rude. She wouldn’t even look at me to take me order, she just nodded and waved me away when I was done. Literally didn’t say a word to me. A boy came in after me and she wouldn’t stop gushing over him and they had what seemed to be a 10 minute conversation while my food was up sitting in the window. Oh, and I asked for no onions on my food by the way… did she write that down OR tell the cook? Nope. If I do come back it will not be on her shift. I didn’t like the food, either, but to be fair I usually get the rice/tofu bowl and opted for some yakisoba on a whim and it was really chewy and overcooked.

Don’t go here… Chicken yakisoba was so dry… The beef was like jerky… Over 10 bucks and it sucked… And the chef chased out 4 construction workers to complain about their parking… Wow… Yell at the only other customers besides me for parking… Long story short lousy food… Terrible service!

Mostly Japanese food. The yakisoba was great. Lots of meat. I couldn’t finish it all. Nice cute girl behind the counter too!

The food is always good here! Plus, they have a coupon in the Entertainment book. :-) The staff… I know they are usually new to the job industry but some of them could use a little bit of training on customer service.

This is just a cool place. The food is fresh and cooked to order. That means you have to wait a little longer, but they have lots of magazines to read while you wait and a TV that sometimes shows surfing footage to add to the ambience. I’ve tried several things from the menu and everything is good. The teriyaki is very good and the sauce is almost perfect. The gyozas are also really tasty if you’re looking for something other than the standards. Great food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop!
