We live in Portland, but this is our favorite Chinese buffet. We always stop here after a long day of skiing. The food is fresh and the service is very friendly. Lots of good seafood and tender meats. My kids really love coming here!

We enjoyed the selection of food items. There was a good variety, even some sushi if that’s your thing. The honey shrimp were delicious and the sweet and sour chicken was probably the best I’ve had. I liked that you can add your own sweet and sour sauce. It was white meat chicken which was a nice change. The desserts are a little bland but they have soft serve ice cream so I was happy.

I used to enjoy coming here for lunch when the old owners had it. For $ 6.95 you would get a vast variety of quality Chinese food better than most buffets. Now it has gotten really sad. It is obvious that the new owners are on a cost cutting mission. No seafood offered at lunch anymore except some weird little fish fillet, and very over cooked calamari. I used to get fried shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, all gone now to increase profit. There are still many choices, but practically every dish contains chicken. Dessert is a joke. very low quality items. Don’t bother! Go to one of the other two Chinese restaurants in town until this one fails and new owners take over who want to put out a better offering.

Had dinner there Friday service was good however the food selection was not as good as previous owner price was cheaper. They were also slow at filling the line. We may try at a later date

*****THISREVIEWISOFTHENEWONEWORLDCHINESEBUFFETTHATREOPENEDINPLACEOFTHENEWGARDENATTHESAMELOCATION**** My Husband stopped in there for lunch last week for the first time. He said it was GREAT! The service was excellent as was the food. The shrimp was great, black peppered chicken and black bean chicken were really good. Spring rolls also were yummy, lots of desserts to choose from. Everything he had he loved.(5 plates of food). He had hot and sour soup which he loved and they also offered egg flower. He said they kept the buffet stocked up and nothing ever ran out. If it was half full they were right there to fill up hot and fresh. No empty ones where you find yourself sitting around waiting for it to get filled before making a trip up to the buffet. We just moved to Estacada from Tigard and make frequent trips to Sandy. He said this is going to be our new Chinese place and he will be taking me this weekend. I also like you can get take out by the pound which we love. I will add a review on here when I go but according to my Husband this place is a MUSTTRY!

We first found this to our surprise one day after coming off Mt. Hood and decided to try it out. It is very well priced and the food is great. We’ve eaten there many times and the food is always fresh and the staff are always polite. It seems as though they put out only smaller amounts of food out so there isn’t a bunch sitting out there getting stale, yet as soon as something runs out give it a couple minutes and they bring out more.

Every once in a while, I just want a variety of tastes, instead of a main course. When that urge strikes, I am happy to head for a Chinese buffet. After that meal, I usually wonder why I bother to eat such average food. Fortunately, this was not my experience at New Garden. This was the best buffet I have had. The potstickers were great, the BBQ pork was as fresh and tasty as any I have had, and the flavor of every dish I tried was good to excellent. Why 4 stars then? You do need to catch things as they first come out onto the buffet, however, or the food may have cooled off. Still, I am glad I came in and plan to stop in again if in Sandy at a mealtime.

First, some details; we went to New Garden for lunch on a weekday. It was empty, but for us. The buffet food looked old and tasted dry. I had bbq pork and fried rice first, the pork was really dry and flavorless, the fried rice was had equally dry/old pork. What I found odd was the way the server, ran up to me while I was getting the fried rice. She grabbed the serving spoon out of my hand and muttered something about it being new and proceeded to scoop food on my plate. I have always considered myself to be competent at using a spoon and was baffled. The fruit on the buffet was fresh and cold, but the dessert bar was a bit sad. Though they had a ton of choices, I was disappointed with the cream puff, which was extremely dry as was the brownie that had some weird tan crumbs stuck to the bottom. I did like their homemade doughnut… balls. The server was prompt in refreshing our drinks though I was disappointed they didn’t offer oolong tea with our meal.
