Such a gem of a stop before heading up to hood. Who would’ve thought that a gas station would have such a yummy yummy burrito and veggie scramble bowl.
The ladies running the Mexican food portion of the gas station are super sweet and always smiles.
I love getting the veggie burrito or the veggie scramble before heading up for a long day of boarding. The ingredients taste so yummy and fresh. I loooove meat but I never get the meaty burritos because I love how the veggies taste in the scramble.
I always ask for extra pico de gallo and both the red and green sauce. Yommmm. Makes me want to drive out to sandy right now for a bite to eat!!!

Just had a carne esada with habanero sauce… Nom nom nom! The recipe for the steak is something else, every bite got better that before I knew it– the burrito went somewhere! Employees always smiling and friendly, be prepared for a big tasty burrito!

The burritos inside this she’ll made by. A very sweet lady were a quick and thrifty option but being that my hubby and I just moved back from Denver — home of the $ 2 breakfast burrito and tasty green chili — these burritos seemed a little blah and dare I say it– overpriced??? I think anyone who can slap a few breakfast items into a tortilla could make these but it was convenient and my hubby was starving.

My coworker brought us in two orders of chorizo, scrambled eggs with potatoes and the other with bacon and warm corn tortillas and the most perfect salsa and avocado cream sauce on the side. When I asked her what restaurant these were from, she said they were for the Shell station. I was like, «What? I’m eating food from a gas station?» I am telling you, it was complete heaven! I ate it for breakfast, lunch AND dinner! Can’t wait to make my way out to Sandy and try it again as soon as possible.

Forget everything you’ve ever known about gas station food and get ready for the best burrito of your life! This hidden gem is a must-​do! If you’re in Portland, take a trip up to Mt. Hood, and on your way, stop at Shell for a breakfast burrito– personally, I thought the chorizo one was excellent, but there are other options, including vegetarian! My burrito had eggs with potatoes, chorizo, veggies, and a special hot sauce. Wowzers! I don’t know what’s in the secret recipe exactly, but it sure is tasty. If my friend who I was visiting in Portland hadn’t recommended this, I never would have tried it. The idea of gas station food grosses me out under normal circumstances. So why is this place an exception? I asked some Shell employees for the inside scoop… Apparently, the station was owned by Shell but rented it to a man named Juan, who ran the gas station and started selling burritos inside. Juan ended up getting in some trouble and Shell took over the facility. However, the burritos were such a staple of the town that they had to continue selling them — using Juan’s recipes, which are handwritten in Spanish.

MACHACA can I say anymore the breakfast burritos. Are amazing here! Service is always excellent. Food is always awesome! Love this place.

I have never been one to eat gas station food, but this place has the most delicious breakfast burritos! All handmade when you order, super authentic and friendly. Love it!

So I heard about this place from the hairdressers at my SALON… yes, my SALON. The place where I get my hair done and there are a lot of high maintenance women running around. They couldn’t stop raving about the breakfast burritos! I told my husband, and we planned a stop here on a morning before a road trip.
Well, the breakfast burrito was AWESOME. And, you can easily share a regular with a partner, or just order the small. They are huge. All the ingredients are super fresh, and the place is very, very clean. A friend in our church recently started working here, and she says the owners are great. This is one of Sandy’s best kept secrets.

Okay, there are a lot of GREAT people that work here but WOW… today I witnessed the RUDEST female employee working there. 1^st she was rude to a guy making a purchase and then she was rude about a gentleman that came in there looking for a job. Another worker could not locate the applications so the guy left. Then after the guy left the disgruntled female employee says «I know where they are and I am NOT chasing him down to give it to him». Wow! After he heard her personality I was wondering if he would even WANT to work there… with Miss Grumpy pants! I know it is a fuel station and not a fancy place but geezus people, cheer up and treat people how you would want to be treated. I won’t be back during the day if I am going to risk running into her. The evening crew is SUPER personable so I am giving 3 stars. Oh AND the BURRITOS are AMAZING!!! If I were basing it on crabby patty… it would have been 1 star!

When I moved to Sandy I asked people where I could get the best burritos. Every single person I asked said the Shell Station. I was skeptical at first but after the first time I had one I was a believer. The burritos are the best I’ve ever had. I tell everyone I know, «if your going through Sandy, stop at the Shell and get some food. You won’t be disappointed.»

Amazing, absolutely the BEST tamales and burritos! Family run… this is the real thing. There isn’t even a sign for this incredible food other than «Food Mart» like on a lot of gas stations. Get there before 2pm when they close… Ahhhhhh, I dream about the Shell Station!

This is a convenient place to gas up on your way to Mt. Hood from Portland. You can also purchase your Sno-​Park pass here. But that’s not what makes this Shell station great.
What makes it great are the BURRITOS!!! This Shell Station is operated by a Mexican-​American family, and they have a full on burrito bar. In the mornings you can get a breakfast burrito to go with eggs and chorizo, sausage, or bacon, with a red hot sauce or this sublime, creamy, avocado based chile verde. It’s SO GOOD! And later in the day you can get carnitas and chicken burritos, also over-​the-​top good.
This is the best Mexican food in Sandy. I make a point to stop here for a burrito whenever I drive by. Try it. You’ll be amazed!
