Located off Sanford Ave near the downtown area and the Sanford Marina Boardwalk is Baggs Produce. Baggs is a unique produce store in that it has a high affluence of southern charm– from their open air farm stand exterior to the green tomatoes and the smell of fresh boiled peanuts; this little stand is unique in itself. There’s a large selection of citrus fruits, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers of all sorts. On this particular adventure I was looking for something fresh and a tasty snack. I wound up purchasing two green peppers and two red tomatoes that were on sale. A lot of their on sale produce is first in, first out; thus saying, still very fresh but perhaps not as fresh as what was just picked and ready on the regular shelves. Their was a very sweet lady who showed me around their pepper selection and at the end of my produce journey the total came to $ 2.12 for four beautiful and later very tasty and juicy vegetables. I’ll definitely be returning for their fresh produce and sweet southern unique charm and the shaded willow trees that happily cool my car while I shop. Overall fantastic quality and a unique location.

I have been coming to this little produce market on and off for close to 5 years. I have noticed changes over time. Recently I have been going to Sanford more frequently and I have been dropping by to see what is fresh. The last time I found some gorgeous tomatoes that made a great tomato salad. The Collard greens looks great and since my daughter volunteered me to make the greens for Thanksgiving, I decided to come here today for enough to make a batch for the family. What you see in the photo in my stock pot was 2 bunches that cost me $ 8.00. They do not have a HUGE selection like you will see at the chain grocery stores but what you will find is some of the nicest looking produce they are able to obtain from the local farmers. Some of their prices are low and some are high but I have never been disappointed in the quality of the produce I get here. I don’t shop here every day but that is only because I live about 20 miles away but they are my FIRST stop when I am looking for Collard Greens every year. If you find yourself in Sanford… Stop by to see what is fresh!!!

A nice selection of fresh Florida produce! I like that I can stop off at this little stand and get all my fruits and veggies and know that they are locally grown! Super Tasty Cajun Boiled Peanuts & cheap at that!

Great local produce stand that’s been here in Sanford for years and years. Their fruit and veg are quite fresh and well-priced. You can pick up some bait and a cane pole here on your way to go fishing at the beach or Lake Monroe. You can pick up some flowers for your mother in law(like I did today). But best of all, if you have a hankerin’-as I sometimes do– you can get the tastiest, most perfectly boiled peanuts. I like the Cajun seasoned(they have regular, too). $ 3.00/lb., deeeeelicious, and may burn your lips clean off.
