Ellens Wine Room

Forged with a necessity to fill the gaping void of Wine Warehouse shutting it’s doors, Ms. Hartman opened Ellen’s Wine Room in Sanford’s historic district. Quickly becoming the local stomping ground for wine aficionados, Ellen’s Wine Room is a charming wine bar to relax and enjoy «reasonably priced «wines and imported beers with your family and friends.
PS: Be sure to check out Tuesday Wine Swap or Thursday themed tasting, where $ 15 – 20 per person will fetch you a three-​course home cooked meal and some good old grape juice, aka wine.

After visiting here 5 times the last few months and enjoying it, I arrived with my wife last night and within 30 seconds we where asked to leave by the owner «Ellen» There was a skype event going on, told us we had to buy dinner if we wanted to stay (they don’t have a kitchen). When I asked if we can by a bottle of nice wine she rushed us out of the joint.
After all my travels, I’ve never been asked to leave an establishment and thought it was degrading, so cynical and an example of piss poor customer service. This is especially true when you’ve gotten prepared for a night out with your spouse and traveled 8 miles. I will never go back. An establishment that you’ve become a sort of regular that rears it’s ugly head like this you should stay away from. I feel for Mary (Manager) and Chuck (musican) who are very genuine people. Ellen and her flock of geasers can enjoy themselves.

Quaint little wine spot on up coming Sanford Ave. The owners are super nice and I always meet great people there.

A nice, chill place to hang out. Chuck Culbertson, a local musician, plays there a lot and he is awesome. It’s a good place to settle in and wind down.

A cozy wine room with a very informative and helpful staff. They always have some special going on! It’s a great evening starter or a first date or a ladies night out!

Ellen is a doll and treated us like old friends even though none of us had been there before. There was an excellent selection of wines (you can buy a glass or a bottle) the Ellen served us samples before we settled on a glass. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting and a welcome place in what is otherwise a rather bland central Florida. If you haven’t been here before you need to come check it out. Another great, locally owned business.
